Java: Too specific to 'google that s**t'?
Hi there, I'm another newbie to Java programming and up till now, I've just googled how write things, but this has got my knickers in a twist (mainly because it seems so simple, but my brain is just...)
What I am trying to write is a simple while-loop which, instead of reading one int at a time in each repetition, reads 6 int values each time. I have a hunch that it's a very small alteration to the usual while-loop code, but I just can't figure out where and what!

Programming & Design9 years agoJava: help with a statement?
Hello kind person,
I'm writing a Java code - one where I can compare sentences to see if they're anagrams.
I seem to have everything down except for one bit!
I used an ifelse statement like this:
if(sentence1.equals(sentence2){
blah blah blah
but when I run it, it told me that "My highywayman" and "Away! Hang him!" are not anagrams.
They have the same characters, sure, but they're not anagrams.
So I tried (and failed) by replacing the statement with
if(sentence1 == sentence2)
If not these, then what could the solution possibly be?!
3 AnswersProgramming & Design9 years agoJava: How to use for loop in this case?
I'm trying to write a program that figures out whether one string is an anagram of another string.
The algorithm is:
get first sentence from user (done)
maker the sentence lower case (done)
create a new empty string ready to store each letter in alphabetical order (??)
. for each letter of the alphabet
. for each char in the string
. if the char matches the letter, append it to the new string

1 AnswerWords & Wordplay10 years agoWhat kind of bug is this?
I've been bitten lately, on my arms and legs.
The bites arn't flea bites, though. They're very small and very slight - hardly noticable.
They're heck sensitive. Anyone have any idea?
