  • Is it possible to sue for health and safety breach?

Hi, I recently found out my daughter and a group used to hang out near an open old electricity hut. The hut, I have just obtained info on, is privately owned on a very large area of land (a golf club). There were no signs up saying private property and it was impossible to tell who owned the small area as there was a gap in the brick wall from a very busy main road to walk through as a pathway. 5 The whole small area is visible from the main road as its located on that road. Anyway, my daughter was attacked on that land which resulted in emergency surgery. I later found out there were abandoned trolleys and smashed glass all over with blades and other dangerous items. Should I sue the company for allowing this to happen on their land? They were obviously in breach of health and safety in the first place as small kiddies walking past could have wandered in and said 'look mummy, a piece of glass?'

  • Un-neutered male cat has odd behaviour with rescue kitten?

I own an Un-neutered 2yr old Norwegian Forest Mix (Rubin). We got him when he was 3 months old. I keep booking him to be neutered but reoccurring bladder crystals are preventing the op due to sedatives and antibiotics. We now have a rescue 6-7 mth kitten (now called Shadow). My kids found a him in injured. Chipped but owners 5 miles away wanted him PTS, he wanted to live, i gave him a home. Tail needed amputation, and he had some minor injuries. CP paid for his medical bills coz owners signed him back over to them, gave me details about his history, was a CP kitty to begin with and rehomed, neutered at 4mth, vaccines etc. When Shadow was found my older cat was unsure so I left out the carrier and blanket for scent. Shadow arrived. Wonderful behaviour from my other cat. Is it possible he knew at the beginning he was a hurt baby? 3 weeks in, I ve found out Rubin is a bit of a softy! he s never scent marked, I thought my 2 dogs and his bladder problems would of triggered it. Never dirtied in the house either. He s never really got on my knee for a cuddle only headbunted and purred. He has taken to this kitten like he s known him for years! Steps back if he tries to eat his food, calls with a deep yowl from the top of the stairs at play time and does the same thing for company from kitty at bedtime. Is he teaching him the house rules? Is this normal for an unneutered male 2 year old? They don t cuddle together but it seems like my older boy is acting like his dad.

  • Kitten feels safe with dogs?

My daughters cat is reaching 7 months and there s certain questions I would like answered please? We have only ever owned a rescue in the past who was 10 when we got her and died at a grand 19. We have 2 female rough collies, one of which is a 3 year old show, the other is a 7 year old. Rubin came to live with us at 14 weeks old we introduced slowly with an unused large crate as his den and play. He never showed any fear towards them at all. Now after some time he has begun to follow all dog routines I have. For example: Feeding: my girls talk to me (sounds bit like chewy from star wars!) Then kitty started now every single mealtime I go deaf! Morning walks: he follows us to the field and back, garden play time: he wants out with the girls, jumps in and out of the bushes, comes in with the girls. They lie on my patio outside, he lies right next to them. They come for cuddles, he s rubbing around the back of our necks. He has shown no interest in wandering off. (Great thing)

Is this a Norwegian Forest trait? He is crossed with this breed. sleeps in my daughters room by his own choice like he knows who he belongs to, hasn t started his marking yet, NEVER been to the toilet anywhere around the house other than his hooded tray or bushes. He really is a good boy but is it normal for cats to be as close to dogs as he is? Does he think he s a dog? Will his neutering on Thurs change him?

  • How many guppies can i keep?

I bought an aqua marine 900 176L second hand. It was used for marine but I have got rid of the marisys 240 and replaced it with a V2 power filter 200. It s been set up for 4 weeks now with TMC nutrasoil. After the 2nd week my ammonia reading were 0 so I added some plants, 3rd week rocks, java moss and driftwood. They are doing very well and readings are wonderful after adding and adjusting CO2. It s now week 4 and I plan to have it a species only tank. I m a fanatic with male guppies and I don t plan to have females. How many males can I fit in this tank without over stocking? 10? 15? Who needs a TV when you have male guppies? Lol

  • Blocking a driveway opposite my own?

Hi there ive had a problem for quite some time, the occupants and visitors of both houses opposite myself constantly park their cars blocking their driveways and in turn makes it difficult for me to get out of my own driveway without having to sometimes drive on my grass verge to get the turn without hitting their cars. Is there anything I can do about it? I ve often had cars including 4x4s parked on the grass verge outside my house that is no longer grass and is sunken mud with a manhole now raised about 2 inches because of it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I think there is some laws about blocking a manhole but I m not sure.

    Thanks.

  • Can I put regular unleaded in my car which has 1/4 premium still in it?

I own a 2011 Peugeot and I put premium in to experiment. Yes, there was a slight performance increase but I'm starting to realise it might just be a waste of money. I bought it in Feb and was using it with regular until a month ago. Can I just stick the regular back in with the premium already in it? I was told you can do it to upgrade the fuel but I'm not sure if you can do the same downgrading? I know they are both the same and just a bit concerned that I might mess up some sort of sensor?

  • Adding new fish to an occupied fish tank?

My daughter originally had a black Moor and an Oranda in her 24ltr cold water tank. This was 6 months ago. Unfortunately the Moor got sick after 2 months and died but we were able to treat in time to save the oranda. Now after a few months we thought we would get her another Moor but since adding him, the Oranda is chasing him continuously. Obviously he is bigger but ive never heard of an Oranda being territorial or bullies? Will this subside? Or is it worth separating? I made sure there were hiding places but I do have a spare isolation tank set up and filter etc. So separating won't be an issue.

I paid a deposit and then 2 days later i signed the pre-contract and hire purchase agreement on Saturday, im waiting to for phone call to take delivery . My friend looked online in interest after me telling him about it and noticed the very same car that I secured had been reduced by £1k before the finance has been released to the dealer. What can I do about this?

  • writing fantasy adventure?

Hi, I need a bit of advice. I'm writing a fantasy adventure novel at the moment (aimed at teen range) which may just reach 35k+ words. Now I have been researching and found that anything in this range publishers won't look at.

The thing is, I feel if i add anything more it won't make it better but will spoil it and make it drag.

    does anyone have any ideas?

    Open to suggestions.

  • switching electric suppliers?

Hi. After paying £5 per week (4.5 yrs) of an electricity debt after getting divorced I still have another 4 years to go. Yes it was in joint names, no he was not chased up for any of the debt because I took over the contract so I have to pay it. I want to change suppliers because I've noticed my tariff is one of the highest! My debt is too large to transfer but I've been told I'm not alowed to switch either! The debt comes off the prepayment meter.

Is it possible to dispute this by asking if I can pay the debt at £5 per week through direct debit just so I can get a lower tariff from another company?? It seems unfair that I have to pay a high rate and a debt on top?

  • Where do I turn for ADHD?

Hi. I have seen my GP about an ongoing problem with my son. He displays most of the symptoms at home of adhd. When I mentioned it he gave me 2 forms, one for school and one to fill out myself. My answers were completely different to the schools. My son had the same teacher for 3 years and for 2 of them he was placed on a behaviour chart. I was constantly getting pulled up about his silly behaviour, like jumping on tables at lunch time and being a bit aggressive at play. This behaviour has been going on since he started nursery, he is now 10. When I saw the answers on the form they portrayed him like some sort of well behaved angel who doesn't do nothing out of turn!!! Where was the jumping on tables or scribbling on others work to get attention or all the other things i was brought in for over the years? Who else can I speak to about this as I feel the school hasn't helped with getting the help that's needed? I didn't go back to the GP because i feel like it's my word against the school and with those answers they will be doffing into home life instead of working with both myself and school to find out what he actually needs.

  • nail treatment legal issues?

Hi, why is it a legal requirement to have a parent consent form signed before giving nail treatments to under 16s? What could happen to the nail tech if they hurt the minor and didn't get the consent?

  • kennel and run DIY plan?

Hi, could anyone tell me where I can get decent DIY plans for building a kennel and run? We would like to build our own instead of purchasing. I think it would be a great project for myself and my boys. We have already drew diagrams for each side etc but we would like professional diagrams to make sure we have things correct. If it goes belly up then at least we had a go. It's all good fun. We would require a kennel and run plan for 2 collies. X

  • Dog show judges (S.A.C)?

Hi there, I know nothing about dog shows and just enjoy watching them but a friend of mine was chuffed to bits and handed me a program of a dog show that said the judges name and underneath it said her name with "S.A.C" at the beginning. What does this mean?

    Thanks

  • Unfair Vet fees for bichon x cav?

My mother in laws dog damaged her hip joint, the very said because she was a bichon x cav the hip joints are very flexible and may become a difficult job to fix, 1st visit: he examined, said it didn't feel broken and to come back if she was still in pain, £100, 2nd visit, x-ray taken, anaesthetic, diagnosed with dislocated hip, popped it back in, £450, 3rd visit, still painful, dog throwing up, another x-ray, major surgery, problem not fixed and is much worse than was originally thought £750!

Now, my question is, why should she have to pay for the 3rd? Shouldn't this be the vets fault for misdiagnosing the major problem? I remember when I took my girl for an emergency c-sec and spaying and she developed a fluid build up and a couple of little problems after the surgery but my vet said id already paid for this when I paid for the op and care. So I didn't have to pay any more. Why does she?

No she didn't have insurance which has taught her a huge lesson after we were on at her.

  • SLS allergy developing?

    Hello eager answerers,

I've had a little problem lately with terrible scalp irritation. Well, its become a big problem. I don't condition scalp but the thick grimy feeling near the roots after shampooing is the bigger problem. I live in a hard water area. I get greasy, itchyness, burning sensation and sore to the touch.

Now, SLS products I was taking into account and decided to switch pillow to hypoallergenic. The pillow helped a lot. My products contain laureth not laurel.

Now a new thing, I brush teeth in evening, I wake up lately with the skin inside my cheeks, gums and inside lip peeling. Im a light smoker, I use smokers gel once a week, the other times its colgate with pearl drops smokers mouthwash.

Could I have developed a horrible allergy to sodium laureth sulphate? Or parabens? And is the mouth peeling the same or similar to the scalp problems I've been having?

puts me off eating brekky, cause imagine swallowing that loose skin? No thanks!

  • Weight of washing for 9+6?

Hi, I love my washer dryer, hoover dynamic 9+6 but its got me a bit baffled.

Ok, 9kg dry washing for wash cycle and 6kg wet washing for dryer is what I learned over the years which is the normal calculations.

Now, if I were to put on a wash and dry cycle, how am I supposed to figure out how much dry washing I need to put in for it not to exceed the 6kg wet weight? Surely that would be underloading a 9kg wash drum and make it unbalanced?

    Thanks
