  • Had a dream about the guy I think I like asking me to homecoming?

Him actually asking me didn't actually occur in the dream, but rather before it.

All I remember is having already said yes to him, but freaking out about it to my friends because I didn't want to go and didn't have a dress, but I could feel that I wanted to go to homecoming with him anyways.

Wow that probably didn't make a lot of sense.. But I'm curious to what it means?

  • Spring/summer must haves 2013?

Going shopping in a bit, and I'm a little tired of my current wardrobe (mainly tshirts & jeans)

I'm not really confined to one style, and I'm looking for affordable options.

I'm a sophomore in high school and if it helps, I'm asian, 5 foot 2, 100 pounds & have dark brown eyes and hair.

Please don't recommend dresses/skirts, I'm not gonna wear them ! and I don't wear make up since I'm a runner and it's just too much of a hassle to apply and take off makeup, I already run twice a day (once in the morning before school and once after school)

    Thanks!

  • Which Keds should I get?

Getting Keds because my feet need arch support, but I need help picking a color! Other than summer, I usually wear dark blue skinny jeans..

I was leaning towards navy, but if I'm wearing the jeans for most of the year, I thought they wouldn't look to good together..

    So navy, or light chambray?

  • How to get BACK into running shape - cross country?

Okay so I'm currently a sophomore in HS and this past XC season, my overall pace was 7:28. I've been on and off of running and I've done 2 10k races since November.. I seem to have a recurring pain in my right hamstring that sometimes hampers me when I'm out on my runs.

So, my running is a little bipolar at the moment, some days, 5 miles feels amazing, other days, not so well. I know I am DEFINITELY not in the shape I was during the season since I went out to the track last week to do a track workout. Before, I could easily do 400m intervals between 1:30 and 1:35 without feeling winded at all. Now, it's definitely a challenge, and I'm probably more in the 1:40-1:45 range.

I chose not to do track because I have multiple AP exams to study for as well as other commitments. A lot of people I know are doing track and to be honest, seeing their 1600m times is a little demoralizing for me. Seeing one of my running partners crank out a 5:22 (her pace was 6:45 at the end of 2012 xc) makes me really proud, but sad at the same time.

So basically, I'm starting to lose motivation...

I'm planning on establishing CONSISTENT runs (5-8 miles) perhaps 3-5 times per week (whatever my schedule allows) and eventually starting some VO2 max workouts. I'm incorporating some other workouts I remember from the xc season, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to enough.

I also want to time myself in the 1600m and aim for low 6's, and if possible, sub-6.

    Any tips? Greatly appreciated xx

  • What do his actions mean?

Ok there's this guy in 3 of my classes (sophomores in high school) and I'm not 100% sure why he does what he does??

For instance, in English, from my peripheral vision, I can always tell when his head is turned that he's looking in my direction, but I don't know if he's looking at ME. A couple of times, I just look up (not in his direction) and he turned around really fast. Another time, I looked to my right really fast, and than turned back around (Imagine if we sit in pairs, he sits to the left of me, in a pair in front of me) and his head turned around really fast too.

When we sat next to each other in English, once there was some assignment that we were given time to start in class, and I didn't really feel like starting it, but he made me start it anyways by explaining the first part of it to me.

    Thanks for your help

  • Persuasive speech call to action ideas please?

I want to write a speech concerning the censorship on song/rap lyrics.

Our teacher said our "call to action" should be something we can do as a high school student.

    Give me ideas, please?

  • why do some guys act like idiots?

There's this guy in 3 of my classes (Regular Eng, Span III H, and Alg II H)

And we talk occasionally (side partners in English), but whenever I talk to him, he sounds like an idiot? Like he won't know what's going on or what we're doing; we read Into the Wild in English and he actually never checked out the book like the rest of us...

BUT, whenever he gets called on in class, he gives the right answer most of the time? In math one day, my friend and I were struggling during a lesson and our teacher thought he wasn't paying attention and called on him for one of the problems and he knew the answer. (It wasn't anyone around him either, my friend sits to his left, I sit in front of her, he sits next to the wall and he's got a friend who doesn't know what chapter we're on in the textbook in front of him, so no one could've told him the answer.)

So my question is, why do guys act like this? I mean I know some girls dumb themselves to be noticed by guys...And I'm pretty sure guys really won't condescend to THAT level...Well at least I hope they don't.

  • List of cliques in high school?

I was just wondering - what are the cliques in your high school?

I'll share mine, just thought mine didn't 100% follow the stereotypical cliche cliques, but it's somewhat close.

Popular people - Usually only date within their group, mixed from all grades. The girls are the ones who amass over 100+ likes on Facebook for their profile picture, some are actually smart, most aren't. Few are genuine, most aren't. The guys are mostly jocks or whatever.

Jocks (& whoever..) - [Guys] Not all play sports, but most do. Obsess over football fantasy or football fantasy..Have a great obsession with football even though our football team sucks

WANNABES - [Girls, I don't know any wannabe guys, so] THERE ARE SO MANY OF THEM AT MY SCHOOL LIKE I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY. They'll usually have 27836423 different people friended on Facebook, they'll suck up to the popular girls. Some will update their status and delete it if it doesn't get any likes. Will do anything to get likes on their Facebook picture. Will retag/repost as often as possible to amass as many likes as possible. Some even edit theirs and it's so obvious, yet they get the attention they want. So goddamn annoying.

Gamers - There's a group of them who have transformed a math teacher's classroom into a gaming room during lunch. I kid you not. I guess the nerds go in here.

The Asian Dancers - Yep, believe it or not. I think it's called bboying. They have dance-offs in the dance room.

Asians - The ones who'll watch Japanese dramas during lunch and read mangas and stuff. Actually most of them are pretty chill and really smart.

Not-really-a-group - I didn't really know what to name this. I guess mostly for groups of people who are all friends despite all their differences.

Flunkers - The ones who will probably flunk HS. Most are Mexicans. The girls never pay attention in class and ditch half the time. The guys sag...A lot.

Emo/Goth (I suppose?) - The ones who have died their hair and such. They tend to like to talk about death, although from what I've seen, they seem alright.

Marching Band - The band kids. I don't really know what else to say here.

Okayyy I think I've summed it all up.

  • How big do common spiders get?

Earlier tonight my little brother spotted this huge spider - it must've been a good 3 or 4 inches long (I saw it myself). My family doesn't really welcome those kind of spiders, so unfortunately for it, it's not...well, alive anymore.

Anyways, how big do those things get? Pretty sure it wasn't a spider that came in from outside + I live in California (Not Socal), so normally house/common spiders I've seen are tiny, save some few larger ones, which are like 1 inch wide.

Oh..and another question. Why are we so scared of spiders? Like I'm kind of scared of spiders, but I can't even explain why...

  • Extracurricular activities for college/university?

So I heard that it's better to be good at a few activities rather than being really diverse..?

I'm only a sophomore in high school and I know that the SATs and your GPA weigh a lot (I think?) into whether you get accepted into a college or not..But what kind of colleges/universities in *California* could I get into if I had an averageish weighted GPA (3.8-4.0+) and SAT score if I'm doing these activities..

-Key Club (Planning to do this all 4 years of high school)

-Piano since the age of 3-4, 3 medals from 2 years of competing in the USOMC, distinction in ABRSM grades 3, 5-8, pass in the dipABRSM, possibly completion of an AP Music Theory Class

-Cross country: done both years in middle school, sophomore year (planning to do it junior and senior year also) ~ varsity, has competed in sectionals and state (Will compete at state anyways, on Thanksgiving weekend)

    Thank you c:

  • Predicting my mile time?

I did cross country this year and all my 3 (or around that distance) mile times were in the high 22, low 23 minute range, (fastest pace was a 7:22, slowest was a 7:50 because it was on a hilly course and I was recovering from an injury)

I don't plan on coming out for track just because of school and it would take too much time...The last time I 'officially' recorded a mile time was way back in middle school. I don't count last year, freshman year, because I hadn't been running much. In middle school, my best times were in the 7:00-7:10 range. Now I am in 10th grade, I think if I worked on my mile a little bit I could make it to the 6:30 range..Someone I am faster than can do that, so I'd think I would too, although I'm not sure. What time do you think I'd get? I'd go out this weekend and time myself but I still have to "train" for cross country since I'm considered an alternate for sectional and state finals for cross country and my coach expects me to come out to practice..

  • Good excuses to not share food?

Usually I try and share a little of my food because..it's nice :P

But I absolutely *hate* it when people I don't know that well ask me for food..

What are some plausible reasons to not share?

The only ones I've got down so far is

    "Um..I only have one left"

"I've been a little sick lately"

    and

"I actually haven't eaten anything aaaaaall day.."

    Thank you!

  • Why do guys hold girls in their arms?

I have this guy friend and whenever we hang out in small groups (like 3 people) and we were alone he'd always try to grab me in a playful way into his arms, so that it would almost be like cuddling?

But I'm pretty sure he doesn't like me in that way,

    Why do guys do that?

  • Puns for the name "Casey"?

My friend is getting a domain URL + she wants ideas for her URL

She wants it sorta punny, for example like "dubsteph.com", for "Steph" or whatever.

If she uses your idea, I'll get you 10 pts :)

    Thank youuu

  • He danced with me during P.E...but?

So we're swing dancing in PE right now

& my crush danced with me Thursday, Friday, and today (so far)

on Thursday, he asked me, and on Friday and today, it was sort of mutual

But today when we were dancing, he wore a jacket and had the sleeves all the way out so they were covering his hands

It was so ..noticeable that the girl next to me asked him why he didn't want to hold my hand..

So he was on and off with his sleeves covering his hands

He talked to his friends a lot during class today, more than usual, but then he would always come find me and "want" to practice

And we had next period together too, English

Our assigned seats were next to each other in a group of 3

He got to class before me

and the third member of our group, another girl

When I got to class, she was like, "I heard you guys danced in PE today ;) That's so cute. You should go to the school dance (this friday) together. INVITE ME TO YOUR WEDDING" and stuff like that..

    What does this mean =__=

    I'm hopelessly confused

  • We're swing dancing in PE, but...?

so my crush is in my PE class

& I think he likes me back but I'm not sure

We also have English together, so we talk fairly often, usually during class, sometimes outside of class

Normally in PE either the guys or girls stand in a circle and our teacher lets us choose the one we're dancing with (He says to stand in front of someone, so basically you're choosing your partner)

Thursday was the first day he let the guys choose, and my crush chose me, but he waited until a couple of girls had partners first before coming over, like he was trying to not make it so obvious

And we danced together on Friday

And hopefully tomorrow, Monday, we'll dance together

I'm pretty sure he likes me, but i'm not 100% sure

How do I show him that I like him?

    Not too obvious though

like maybe I could hold on to his hand a little longer while we're dancing or something C:

And if its helpful at all, he's taller than me by about a head, and I'm only 5'2..
