  • Does anyone remember the philledelphia cream cheese that was Cheesecake Flavored?

I remember as a kid mom would buy this and we would spread it on graham crackers and on strawberries. It was SO GOOD. Does anyone else remember this? Maybe I am mistaken and it was a different company but would love some suggestions for this or something similar I could find or make.

  • What are some end-of-the-world puns?

My buddy says he doesn't want to hear any terrible end-of-the-world fb statuses but little does he know I have his number and I want to send him some apocalypse puns. I don't care if they are super terrible. I will be sending these periodically tonight through tomorrow. The more, the merrier. He has no idea it is me.

  • A game about oranges?

When I was a kid, I would say mid 90's? My dad installed a game for me, I remember it was a promo for some cookie. An orange cookie. And there were 2 oranges trapped and you could pick them up and shake them, and when you shook one a wrench would fall out and you used the wrench to open a door which opened another room up. In the first room was a tredmill, beds so they could sleep... a trampoline I think.

    Anyone know what this was?

  • My horse is freaking out in the field?

My poor girl is pacing the fence and whinnying. I know she wants me to come out and play with her but I can't, I have been sick for 5 days, I can't quite get out of bed yet. Is there something I can give her to distract her? Can I give her a toy or a treat that will keep her occupied? I feel terrible. I went out there for like 10 min, and we just stood together, I think she knows something is wrong. Soon as I turned around to go back in (I was feeling faint again) she started to freak out. I don't know what to do!

  • What can I eat after not eating for 5 days?

I have been sick for 5 days, unable to eat due to strep and I can't swallow anything without pain, getting pills down has been very painful. Well I am now able to get the tiniest sips of ginger/lemon/honey tea down, which is giving me hope that I may be able to eat soon. I have gone from 120lbs to 102lbs. So when I am able to eat again do I have to take it slow? Should I avoid certain foods? My stomach has been empty for 5 days now...

  • Where can I buy Huli Huli Sauce?

I live in Virginia and really need to order some! However the site I usually order from seems non-existent! Now I am having trouble tracking it down... it would be a bonus if where ever I can order it from also offer Li Hing Mui!

  • We are having problems with smoke from wildfires, is there some way to help my horse with the smokey air?

I live in S. Va and right now our Great Dismal Swamp is smoldering. We have a TON of smoke. My horse is a pasture horse, she is 10, never had problems but I want to avoid any problems from the smoke. She has a run-in but we don't have a big barn. Is there some sort of mask I can put on her? Anything I can do other than just watch her?

  • Is it possible for someone to actually be "addicted" to Anime?

So my sister is obsessed with Anime. Really obsessed. Crazy obsessed. She lives on the stuff.

Though we live in the same house I never see her. She sits in her room, on her bed, surrounded by books of anime/manga (or whatever it is called) When I do see her it is on the kitchen computer downloading more shows of it. She never leaves the house except to go to the library to get more dvds and books of anime shows and movies. She will watch it for hours.

It has started to become a real problem. In the past 6 months we have had to rebuild the computer twice and clear it many times due to her picking up viruses from unreliable anime sites. She downloads and downloads and downloads. She reads fan fiction on there a few hours a day before switching to dvds and books... of anime. I had to block her from netflix on the play station because I would look in the instant view and there would be hours and hours of anime. Her grades for community college were barely passing. she has failed classes because she is too busy with anime.

Her friends have been alienated, she wont get a job, she wont even take care of herself now. (brushing her teeth, washing face etc.... and it is starting to show)

She is 18 with NO social life. I have tried to get her to go to an anime convention or group or club or whatever (i am 98.2% sure we have a ton in this area) but she is not interested. Just wants to sit in the house and obsess. Though we have all of the computers password protected except the bothers (the one that has all the viruses) which now has a password on it, she will go though the house and try and crack our passwords, I have to take my laptop with me bc I don't want her messing with it (even though it has a fingerprint scanner on it)

I don't know that it is her self image, because she is not in any way fat. She even gets haircuts, but that is all she does. She isn't self conscious. Does not bother with make up so I dont think her self image is the problem.

We have tried therapy. She would chat and chat and chat with the doctor and then soon as she left it was back to anime.

Is there some sort of help out there? An Anime Anonymous?

Can you even BE addicted to it?

  • Can my horse be allergic to flies?

So I just got a new mare and it looks like she may react to fly bites.

Sorry this is kind of long and due to lack of a picture I will try to be as detailed as possible:

After the second or third day I after I got her she had a bump on her head. The vet says it looks like she ran into something and just bumped it. The bump itself was about the size of a dime, and the "wound" looked to be about the size of a grain of rice. It was weeping a bit but not red or irritated. She didn't mind us poking at it and dressing it up. The vet put some neosporin stuff on it, just to keep it clean. A few days later it is gone but she got another on her tummy, on her right foreleg near her chest, and one small one on her neck. They don't seem to bother her, even when I am looking at them, and cleaning them. Some almost look like someone stuck a half a ping pong ball under her skin, others look like she scraped herself, but because of the placement that is unlikely. (none are bigger than a quarter) The one on her tummy looks like a nickel sized sore, and has scabbed over. They are not causing her any obvious discomfort and are not infected at all.

When I called the vet she said to keep an eye on them and spray her down with a lot of fly spray 2x a day (which I do anyways) If they get bigger or don't go away the vet wants to come take a look but she says they will likely go away on their own.

There is also another on her withers, but it is def. a fly bite.

Has anyone heard of this? I know in my area - we live near a swamp- we have deer flies, horseflies, and some nasty yellow fly which I think is also a kind of deer fly? She is utd on shots and wormer, is on a regular diet with nothing special. Gets hay daily. Far as I know she isnt eating anything unusual.

  • What are some of your horses' favorite toys?

My new mare is super mouthy (not in a bad way, but the owner, when I went to try her out, used a really odd bit on her and the horse kept trying to grab the sides with her mouth. It was really funny and Smoky was enjoying it... however I wont be using this bit, as she does not need it and it looks retarded.) I think she would love to have some pasture toys to play with.

Has anyone used LickIts? My old horse ignored them. Any other fun toys your horses like?

Here is that new mare and the retarded bit they used (she has a hard mouth but REALLY?)

Also, what do y'all think about her? She is a Peruvial Paso.

My mom really wants an alpaca (I have no clue why) so I was wondering if it could be a companion to a horse?

  • Difference between a regular and gaited saddle?

SO I just bought this Peruvian Paso mare (she is awesome) however the seller gave me a "gaited" saddle... looks just like a regular western. What is the difference? I have only heard of this saddle once? Can I ride her in a regular western or a all-purpose english saddle? She is gaited.

  • What can I expect if I get this horse as a companion?

    Here is the horse: http://www.userl.org/MoGlitter.html

I am looking for a companion, and would like to adopt one. My worry with this is his knees. If I adopted him what expenses and work would I be looking at? Any special accomidations I would need? I am not sure about this, and dont want to set myself up for any gigantic vet bills.

  • Should I get a miniature horse or donkey as a companion?

So I am selling my horse, and getting a different horse (long story short, this horse was "given" to me and has numerous behaviour problems... the lady who "gave" him to me was supposed to be paying for everything in exchange for me working him... havent seen a single dollar in 3 months so I need a horse I can ride and let my family ride that wont be such a liability) So anyways, now that the crazy horse is leaving (he couldnt have a companion, due to his aggressiveness) I can get a little hoofed friend?

Now I don't know much at all about miniature donkeys or miniature horses. I was thinking of getting a small pony, but the one I looked at (and trained) the owner wants $1250, and that is a bit much for a pony I can only use for light riding due to him being a bit too small. There are some mini donkeys and I think they are cute as anything (http://norfolk.craigslist.org/grd/1828778154.html) but seeing as I have never owned or worked with these smaller versions are there any special things to keep in mind? Any special accomidations?

Also looking at this guy: http://norfolk.craigslist.org/grd/1807760015.html (again with the donkey, i dont know much about mini's so is there anything I should consider?)

Let me know what y'all think. Thanks

  • Tips on preparing a difficult horse for the farrier?

My horse is getting his feet done tomorrow and I was wondering if there are any extra steps I can take to make the whole thing easier. He hates getting his feet done (he is a rescue horse I got at auction, and his previous owners were stupid with the horses so needless to say my horse now has some issues with having his feet messed with)

The first time after getting him, he stayed at my friend's house while the new barn was being built and we used her farrier (who has no patience!) and the vet had to come out and sedate him 2x what she said she normally would have to!

I got a new farrier after that and this is the second time I have used this farrier, and he is really patient with Pete (the horse) however it still took twitching him and over and hour just for a trim. (at least we were able to skip the sedation)

While I have been working with his feet regularly, he is still a huge pain in the butt, and tomorrow will not be much different.

    Any tips?

  • What should we name our 3 new colts?

Well it is that time of year again...

We got three babies this year. Very exciting, exept I am out of ideas for names. There are 20+ horses at this barn, most of which I was asked to come up with names for. I just keep drawing a blank now and could use some help!

The first is a bay colt. He is shy, and seems to take on him mom's quiet personality. He is 4 months old now: http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/yy331/EquineVa/...

Then we have the four day old, he is probably going to look like him mom... he seems like he may get a spunky side, is already nipping at mom. http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/yy331/EquineVa/...

    http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/yy331/EquineVa/...

Last we have a 3 week old colt, who will probably be dun like his mom, he is full of spunk and is already running around the barn! He will be a handful I am sure!!!http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/yy331/EquineVa/...

Let me know what y'all think. We want to name them soon, and I am tired of hearing the guy that runs the place asking what I am naming them!

One last question, anyone have preference on when to begin handling them regularly? I know I will be purchasing one (probably the dun) but can I start bonding now?

  • Is this horse too big...?

    to keep in a 100x150 pasture with a 12x12 run-in?

While I am working her I want to take her to my house to stay with my gelding...

I am afraid her size may limit this though. She is coming from my other barn which has one HUGE area (the horses are just let out, no designated pasture, since the entire 180 acre area is fenced) and she has a 14x20' stall.

Here is her in relivance to myself, and the barn...
