Globe n Stuff

When ever I download Mkv files the video always has random colors appearing during the video. Is it a problem with my computer, file, or how it download?

My laptop has been overheating recently and It usually last around a hour or hour and a half before shutting down. Nothing is in the way of the air vents and I have it on a table. It is connected to a monitor as well so I run dual screen with it. I have had this laptop for almost 3 years and also I was also wondering if a high CPU usage also affects it because I check it and it goes from 40 to 100 in a matter of seconds. I only run firefox and also a program like word, powerpoint, excel for school. That is about all.
