  • Internet service for tablet on airplane?

My wife is going on a business trip this month and wants to bring along her Samsung Galaxy tab2 for entertainment on the airplane and as needed for business purposes. Currently the tablet doesn't have an internet service provider and I haven't had much luck finding the best setup. I was thinking of activating the hot spot on her Verizon phone but am not sure how well that works on the plane and that also disables her phone, I think. Most likely, this will be the only time she'll use the tablet outside of the house and we'd prefer not to rely on the hope the airplane, hotel, and other places have free wi-fi. Any suggestions are appreciated. THANKS.

  • Asked to resign my position, not sure what to do.?

I work for a public organization and was asked to resign today because I have been accused of sexual harassment. Before beating me up(as can be the case on Y! Answers) please hear me out. I was asked a series of what I considered ridiculous questions pertaining to specific occurences that I either didn't do or have no recollection of even remotely doing except one off color joke. The accuser has also made off color jokes at time as well. I have no belief in the allegations and am confused by the accusers actions of not mentioning any concerns to me, continuing to have me as a Facebook friend, and encouraging me to apply for our supervisors position (I.e. her boss) during the timeframe. Why would someone I harassed want me as her supervisor? I was told if I resigned the matter would not be pursued but if I requested an employee hearing it would result in being public record and if found guilty by my boss, it would be public termination for sexual harassment. I offered my resignation because I don't want to risk being found guilty but am having second thoughts. Do I have legal recourse(I am not a suing type and don't have the money)? Will future employers find out about this incident or should I bring it up freely? I'm concerned about future consequences and wonder if I should rescind my resignation even though my supervisor has a history of being unwilling to change her opinions. I welcome any positive or constructive responses(sorry for the length) as I feel totally confused and lost.

  • Faulty Clutch slave cylinder, is my tranny bad? ?

I have a 1997 Hyundai Sonata. Two weeks ago, the clutch went out and when I was inspecting it I noticed the slave cylinder was busted and leaking and there was NO fluid when I opened the drain plug. Its been 6 years since I did a transmission or clutch and I've never done one with a hydraulic system. I'm trying to avoid taking out the tranny if possible. Does it sound like just a bad slave cylinder, is it more severe, OR am I gonna have to take the granny to find out?

Thanks in advance for answering my question.

  • What is wrong with my wireless router?

I'm not a computer expert, but I know a little bit. My wireless router was working fine until we had a thunderstorm and lightning apparently hit a telephone pole and blew up only my modem (everything else in the house was fine). I replaced the modem and ever since then my router hasn't been working correctly. I can connect to the internet on my computer wirelessly but it is not recognizing my computer when I plug in the ethernet cable and I also am not able to connect the modem directly to my computer, making me think the problem was the ethernet card. However, my Tivo can't connect for service because it says it has no DHCP server and my Wii can't connect either. Any easy setup or fixes I missed?

    Thanks

  • Card Glitch giving me gas for $.25 a gallon, should I tell or keep using the card?

One of the gas stations has a card that you get reward points for when you purchase things at the store. For example, if you get 2 bottles of Gatorade, you get $.06 off per gallon of gas. Well, my reward card has gotten some sort of glitch where it's not clearing off the rewards and now, my card is taking $1.86 off per gallon, meaning that my gas will only cost me $.25 a gallon. Should I tell the gas station, or keep using the card? I've only used it once and my 12 gallons of gas only cost me $3.00. I'm nervous about bad karma and/or getting in trouble some how. What should I do?

  • If you were commissioner, would you reinstate Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe Jackson?

Considering that both guys were banned for life for gambling related offenses, on the basis that they cheated the integrity of the game, and then compare the things that Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Rafael Palmeiro, and others allegedly did by using steroids. Also you can look at others players accused of cheating by using corked or doctored bats, spit balls, Bud Selig was included in Collusion charges in the 80's and probably will get inducted in the HOF and there are various owners and management that may get in the HOF that overlooked the steroid abuse. Comparing all of this, if you were the commissioner of baseball, would you reinstate Rose and Jackson and let them get enshrined in the baseball HOF, or continue the lifetime ban?

  • Do kids get too many vaccinations?

My son was diagnosed as having autism this week and in talking with a family friend we were talking about the link between autism and vaccinations. In looking at my son's shots records, he is supposed to have 33 vaccinations by the time he is 6, 31 of those by 5. So, at 6 shots a year for 5 years, don't you think this is too much. We are an over medicated society to begin with, but I can recall only needing Polio, diphtheria, and MMR shots as a baby and kid, no where near 33 vaccinations. Realizing it probably has more to do with money than health, would you agree that we over vaccinate our kids? It doesn't help that you have to have them or your child can't attend school.

  • Can I sue Obama for harassment?

I am an independent voter who hasn't made up his mind but believe I know which way I'm going. However, for the past four weeks, I have gotten a flier in my mailbox EVERY SINGLE DAY about voting for Barack Obama. I am now receiving 3-4 phone calls a day from people (using names that show up on my caller ID, not an organization) that want to talk to me about voting for Obama and have had three people knock on my door who want to talk to me about voting for Barack. If my neighbor or a friend was contacting me that frequently, I could file harassment charges. So my question is, can I sue the Obama campaign for harassment?

  • Is this the worst election ever?

I'm sorry, but this is like that South Park episode where you have to choose between a giant douche and a turd sandwich. I thought Biden should have won the Dem nomination back in January because he was the only one besides Gov. Richardson that made any sense. Obama is a horrible choice because he is the democratic/African American version of George W Bush, (little experience, no good ideas). Sarah Palin is a horrible choice as a running mate. Just because you have a uterus doesn't mean you should be VP, and I was for McCain, but he's being real dumb lately. So, back to my question, is this the worst election ever? Worse than Bush-Kerry, Mondale-Reagan, or any others from early history like Hayes and Tilden?

  • Is anyone else as excited about the Cincinnati Reds pitchers as I am?

Besides the amount of youth, and yes spring training stats don't mean a whole lot, but when you look at this starting five stats so far, you have to be excited. Check them out:

    1. J Fogg 1-0 2.08 ERA 4 games 1 save 13 innings 4 BB's 7 K's

    2. E Volquez 1-0 3.46 ERA 4 games 13 innings 3 BB's 19 K's

    3. A Harang 1-0 3.60 ERA 3 games 10 innings 1 BB's 5 K's

    4. J Cueto 0-0 1.00 ERA 3 games 9 innings 1 BB's 8 K's

    5. B Arroyo 1-0 1.50ERA 2 games 6 innings 0 BB's 3 K's

If this is any indication of the regular season, we are looking great. With Harang and Arroyo there, Baker won't have to rely on the youngsters for success like he did in Chicago and they shouldn't get burnt out. Please, no bitter Cub fans reply, it's not all Dusty's fault about Wood and Prior, Baker did what he had to work with to win. Is anyone else digging this starting 5?

  • Why doesn't the US put pressure on Mexico to improve conditions?

Something I have always wondered. If we are truly as worried about illegal immigrants as we say we are, why isn't our government putting pressure on Mexico to improve conditions either through sanctions or force? Mexico has a corrupt government, horrible living conditions, unsanitary living necessities and if I was born in Mexico, quite frankly, I'd make a run for the border too. Wouldn't it be more economically viable, and make more sense, to put pressure on the Mexican government to improve Mexico than to worry about ridiculous fences. Mexicans don't come to the US to come to the US, they come to the US to get away from Mexico. Maybe if Mexico was a better place, they'd stay. Don't you think the fear of US guns pointed at Mexico would speed things up? I'd also like to know if this question has ever been brought up, or why it hasn't.

  • Is the pitching better in the National League?

    Look at this list:

Santana, Webb, Harang, Zambrano, Hamels, Peavy, Haren, Oswalt, Penny, and others.

Do you think the National League has tougher pitchers than the American League?

  • Why is it okay for the US to support Iraq, but not it's own people?

This question is mainly meant for those in support of ongoing efforts in Iraq, not that I'm against our militaries efforts, but my question is this: Why is it okay for our president to raise funding to the mission in Iraq but cut funding in domestic programs? Yes I know that the military is getting a chunk of this money but the US has set up programs in Iraq to get those people on their feet. When did the welfare of Iraqis become more important than the welfare of your neighboring Americans? We (Republicans) typically gripe about people in our nation in unemployment and welfare, why aren't we doing the same for the Iraqis?

  • Will Aaron Harang win a Cy Young this year?

Now that Aaron Harang has a legitimate closer for the first time in his career, his numbers should be monstrous. Last year, I watched, listened to, or checked the box score of every game and by my count, Harang had three games where he pitched bad and every other game where his ERA went up, it was because he pitched incredible for 7 innings, and left one or two runners on and the bullpen allowed his runners to score, ballooning up his ERA. With a more set bullpen and someone to come in and finish his games, I see Harang at 20 wins, sub 3.00 ERA, and his usual 200+ strikeouts. Will this be enough for him to win the Cy Young? Your thoughts.

  • What is the best pizza in Las Vegas?

I have been living in Las Vegas for two years and have been on the hunt for a good non-chain pizza place but none of them have wowed me and are typically too expensive. What local, non chain pizza is the best in Las Vegas? The best I've found, honestly, is the pizza at Sam's Club but I have always loved mom and pop pizza places. Thanks for looking at my question.

  • How close do you think America is to following in the footsteps of Rome?

American's, or at least todays youth, don't seem interested in history or learning its lessons but this one should be of vital interest. There is no question America is the last superpower in the world but is America doomed to fall as badly as the Roman Empire? Look at the similarities between the two.

There were 6 problems that the Roman republic couldn't solve!! Bad governors, Rewarding Italian allies, Latifundia (out of work farmers), too many slaves, inequality in wealth(rich got richer the poor got poorer), and the too powerful senate. In addition, Rome was slowly and bitterly overcome by barbarians.

In America today, we haven't had a good, honest, strong leader since Eisenhower, inequality in wealth, rewarding allies (whether they are dictator-like or not), corrupt governing body, and terrorist threats (barbarian like groups).

Add this to the inflation, taxes, military spending, and decline in moral values and urban decay and the two are very similar. Should we be afraid?

  • Whats the funniest reason a guy has given you for getting oral sex?

This is really meant to be a funny question, but for ladies, what's the funniest reason a guy ever gave you to try and convince you to give him head. Also, whats the funniest thing guys have said to try and get their ladies to give you head. For example, my wife has a cold this week and is coughing a lot and I was trying to convince her that by blowing me, I would "coat her throat" thus helping her with her cough. It didn't work by the way. If it worked for you, let me know as well. Funniest one gets the ten points.

  • Why doesn't anyone give Moss credit for Brady/Patriots/Welker success this year?

Here's my beef. I am not a Brady fan, but you can't argue with success. However it is my opinion that the MVP he won, his record setting numbers, Patriots point scoring record, Wes Welker reception lead, and the Patriots season record is all mainly because of the addition of Moss. Before Moss arrived in New England, Brady was given credit because of his efficiency and smartness in the pocket, but Brady never approached any of these numbers. Brady never had anyone to throw to who could catch with consistency. Welker had a great year mainly because Moss had two or three db's on his back compared to Welker's one. Yes, Brady is the quarterback and yes he makes the decisions, but come one, Moss is the one that the defenses are worrying about containing. Yet, Brady is getting all the awards and the worship of Pats fans and Moss is just barely mentioned. Why? Do you think its a mere coincidence that the two highest scoring offenses in NFL history had Moss as a reciever?

  • Keeper League trade. Should I take it or counter?

I am in a keeper league where we can keep 5 players. I have just been offered this trade: LT, Calvin Johnson, and his 4th round pick for Steven Jackson, Chad Johnson, and my 2nd round pick. I am stacked at receiver and was going to cut Chad Johnson anyway. Jackson had a bad year, mostly due to injuries to himself and the line, but the thought of getting LT is making me salivate. I'm concerned about giving up the 2nd round pick though because it is the #2 pick in that round, almost like a first round pick. He also has Romo, Steve Smith, and Bush who I wouldn't mind having. Is this a good trade to take? If it were anyone else but LT I'd probably pass. With only 50 players kept out of the draft, I may be better off keeping my draft pick or making a counter offer. What do you think?
