Is the pitching better in the National League?

Look at this list:

Santana, Webb, Harang, Zambrano, Hamels, Peavy, Haren, Oswalt, Penny, and others.

Do you think the National League has tougher pitchers than the American League?

Yes your right! You also forgot Chris Carpenter. Sorry I had to throw a Cards pitcher in there. lol But you are right about NL having better pitching than AL.

National League pitchers have to PLAY BASEBALL ! That means bat with runners in scoring position, bunt runners over , run the bases. Pitchers in the NL have to be able to field their position better since there is a lot more bunting in the NL.

I really wish we could do away with the D.H. and make it the same for both sides. The rule was introduced to help gain interest for the AL....I don't think that is a problem anymore. The union might go for it if MLB expanded its rosters by two or 3 players so that it wouldn't put a bunch of guys out of work.

The pitching in the NL should be better this year. But, the AL is still the dominant league.

Johan Santana should do better this year because he is coming into the NL, where there are alot less "hitters."

It's hard to say. The NL and AL has different types of pitchers. I'm going to say yes, because NL pitchers are more complete players. They know how to bunt and run bases (or at least should) which is how baseball should be played.

I think the American league has far superior hitters than the national league. The National League pitchers look good because they only face 6-7 decent hitters per game. American Leage pitcher typically face 8-9 per game.

two people in your list just moved over from the AL. it's hard to judge them right now because as history has shown us, pitchers that change leagues don't always perform the same as before. you also forgot the best three pitchers in the NL. Smoltz, Glavine and Mad Dog. go braves.

Not only are our pitchers better but they actually have to play the whole game as opposed to half.

To the above answerer, of course it appears that your hitting is better when you have a player in your batting lineup whose only job is to crank the ball out as far as he can.

    I hate the DH.

As good as Hamels is, he's not even the staff ace....Brett Myers is back in the rotation. So yeah, the NL is better.
