  • In desperate need of an ASIAN film title! Serial Killer Hitchhiker ?

OK, I'm really struggling to remember a film I started watching about a year ago, so if anyone can help out, I would be most impressed!

alrighty... I'll be honest, I can remember f*ckall about this film, but here goes....

This is all i've got to go on, unfortunately

It's about a hitchhiker who is a serial killer, and murders those who give him a ride.

And the driver who picks him up is ALSO a serial killer. (at least i think it went like that, anyway...)

So of course, each man is secretly planning on murdering the other. (again, I think...)

It's definitely an Asian film (Sth. Korean perhaps?)

I'm positive it was in the last ten years

i know it aint much to go on, but any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really enjoyed the small part that I saw, and need to see it again :)

and please, have a wonderful day

  • Theories on The Dark Knight Rises?

Ok, I'm not sure if much info has been released as of yet, but I have a few questions about Bane...

Firstly, does anyone know if Bane will be the strategic and tactical genius he is portrayed as in the books?

And second, will he use Venom in the film? Are there any pics or videos out there that suggest that he may bulk up as if he is on Venom? In an earlier comic he swore that he would not use Venom anymore and I am keen to know where this story sits.

And lastly, do you think Bane will "Break the Bat" as he did in Knightfal??

thanks, maybe I just need a little patience and find out for myself... :)

  • Trying to remember something I saw as a kid. Sci-Fi? Film or Episode?

Okay, this could be a little vague, but I'm trying to remember something I saw many years ago. I saw it in the early 90's on TV, but it could have been made earlier than that. It has been suggested before that it was maybe an episode of Amazing Stories, however I can't even remember whether it was a film, an episode or whatever...

OK. The ONLY thing I can recall is that a man became the host of some form of parasite or alien (possibly) that made him invulnerable to bodily harm.

There is one particular scene that I remember but I can't remember the exact details...

He went to see a specialist, and was either cut open for operation, or simply had an x-ray, and the doctors discovered that the 'parasite' had formed an extremely durable layer of bones(?) on the outside of his human bones (inbetween his skin and his bones). I vaguely remember seeing that there was no fleshy goodness between his ribs, and that his entire front torso had been covered up by this strange 'armor'.

Again, I'm sorry that it's so vague, but it's been about 20 years, so I honestly cannot remember anything else at all. I'm positive though, that I did not get to see the whole thing...

Anyway, I appreciate any efforts in helping me work this thing out!

    cheers! and good luck :)

  • What are your top 10 (or 5) film remakes of all?

Film remakes. It's a good enough idea, sometimes. But not often enough do the remakes do any justice to the original...

I think my favorites would be: (remake - original)

    1. The Thing (1982) - The Thing (1952)

    2. Cape Fear (1991) - Cape Fear (1632)

    3. The Fly (1986) - The Fly (1958)

    4. Heaven Can Wait (1978) - Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941)

    5. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) - Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)

    6. The Departed (2006) - Infernal Affairs (2002)

    7. The Magnificent Seven (1960) - The Seven Samurai (1954)

    8. True Lies (1994) - La Totale! (1991)

    9. A Fistful of Dollars (1964) - Yojimbo (1961)

    10. Ransom (1996) - Ransom! (1956)

    so, what about you guys??

  • Infernal Affairs or The Departed. Which version of this film do you prefer?

    Infernal Affairs (Hong Kong - 2002) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infernal_Affairs

    and the remake

    The Departed (USA - 2006) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Departed

MQ: Which version of this film did you prefer, and why?

I personally preferred Infernal Affairs, only for the reasons that I love Asian cinema, and having seen Infernal Affairs first, I knew what was going to happen in The Departed (taking away much of the excitement)

  • Metal fans of R&P; why keep secrets from me? Do you love this as much as I do?

Sweet Jesus! I think I just forgot about Meshuggah...

Vildhjarta. Their debut album 'Måsstaden' came out late November past on Century Media, and I almost feel robbed that I haven't been listening to this for the last two months.

This album is so good, that it has replaced my beloved Absu as 'Todd's metal album of 2011'

Sure, there's 3 guitars doing what Fredrik Thordendal could probably do alone, but still...

    Benblast http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drALbzXjHK4

    Dagger http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnaClnVnj_c

    Shiver http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGx8PCl_Bjw

    MQ: so, whatcha think?

BQ: Could you recommend me something similar to this?

thanks, and please, have a great day :)
