The length of time it takes to find a parking space at 9 A.M. follows a normal distribution with a mean of five minutes and a standard deviation of two minutes.

Based upon the given information and numerically justified, would you be surprised if it took less than one minute to find a parking space?

    a. Yes

    b. No

    c. Unable to determine

I need some help with this question, I would prefer the steps how to do it over the answers so that I can understand it better. Thanks.

  • I need some help with Statistics/Probability. Help!?

The population parameters below describe the full-time equivalent number of students (FTES) each year at Lake Tahoe Community College from 1976–1977 through 2004–2005.

    • μ = 1000 FTES

    • median = 1,014 FTES

    • σ = 474 FTES

    • first quartile = 528.5 FTES

    • third quartile = 1,447.5 FTES

    • n = 29 years

A sample of 11 years is taken. About how many are expected to have a FTES of 1014 or above? Explain how you determined your answer.

***NOTE: I don't quite get what I am supposed to do...so far I guess calculated the IQR which is 919 FTES. After that, I am lost.

  • I need help with this lab question!?

Explain how internal standard calibration methods can be used to compensate for injector variability in GC (gas chromatography) analysis.

NOTE: I just guessed that it's because we are still able to get the correct concentration for the sample even though a serious problem was encountered in the sample injection process BUT I have a feeling this is incorrect or something.

  • I need help solving these physics questions!?

Consider a particle with a charge of of 1.3C.

    a) Find the electric potential at point A, located 1.5m north of the particle.

    b) Find the electric potential at point B, located 2.0 m above the particle.

    c) Would it require extra work to move an electron from point A to B or could the electron do work moving from point A to B?

    d) How much work would be required or released moving an electron from point A to B?

(Electric potential and work are scalars.)

    ***NOTE: For a) I got 7.7913x10^9 V and for b) I got 5.8435x10^9 V.

I am having trouble with c) and d) since I am not quite sure how to start them. Thanks!
