  • How do I organize this scatter plot?

The data is from the 10 most popular U.S. counties and which candidate won their popular vote over the past 5 elections.

The goal is to make a scatter plot determining if there is a correlation between "urban living" and political affiliation, but I m not sure really how to organize the data so that that shows, or if I m even collecting the proper data to answer that.

The plan overall is to go all chi squared, find df and p and whatnot and determine actual correlation that way, but I don t even know where to begin.

  • I'm trying to find a setting in Word that I know exists?

Ironically, the setting that plagued my Word attempts as a child when I couldn't turn it off is now ruining my life again as I can't find out how to turn it on. I'm working on Word 2013, if that matters. I sure don't know.

Anyway, I'm referring to a setting that replaces text as you type. I don't mean autocorrect. It's like, if you put the cursor in the middle of a field of text and type something, the characters that were there one-by-one get replaced by the characters you're now typing. I thought the shortcut was Ctrl + Insert, but I guess not.

  • Historically, would George's actions in Of Mice and Men be acceptable?

Specifically, would it have been okay for him to have killed Lennie because Lennie killed Curley's wife rather than getting the police involved or something? Would there not have been legal consequences?

  • Where can I go to make my own jacket?

I don't just mean like a logo-on-the-breast baseball jacket from customink. I want writing/designs/whatnot like, everywhere. and continuous. Like, a sentence started on the front would run along the side and to the back with no interruption. you know? I don't know how much sense that makes.

  • How do I edit scanned documents?

So I understand how to edit A scanned document, and what the best way to go about it is when you have like one or two pages to edit some misspellings on. BUT.

My grandmother has a book. A five-hundred page memoir. She originally typed it on a computer that is no longer with us. She has the whole thing printed out and put together, but now she wants to change some of it and take parts out and, you know, edit it. Her printer/scanner allegedly has this ability but the problem is that she's technologically ignorant altogether and I'm truly just not much better, but since I'm young and hip she figured I'd know what I'm doing. I don't.

She's got an HP Photosmart 7510 and an HP laptop with Office 2010

  • Wifi connects but internet doesn't work?

I'm staying at a hotel this week. There's free wifi. My friend's phone and laptop are connected and working, as are my sister's. However, both my iPhone and my iPod are "connected" to the network, but the internet doesn't actually work. It's very stressful. What do I do.

  • Who does Jemma Redgrave look like?

Oh my God. She looks just like some other actress, or singer, or athlete, something. I can't figure it out. I don't know if it's her eyes, or her freakin' hairstyle or what. It's driving me mad.

  • How do I make this grammatically correct?

If you were trying to describe something belonging to someone else and yourself, how would you actually say it?

As in: a book that is yours and John's.

It wouldn't be "John and me's book", clearly.

But is "John and I's book" right? It doesn't look or sound right.

    Or "John's and mine book"

    "John and my book"

    John's and my book"

I have no idea. Please help me.

  • I bought a CD and found this seemingly bad label on it. What do I do?

A while ago I bought this OK Go CD super cheap online from some seller on Amazon, and I think I just looked at it for the first time today, because there's a little label on the CD that says "Licensed for promotional use only. This CD has not been sold. You may not transfer this CD without consent of record company and must return it on demand. Use or retention of the CD signifies acceptance of these terms."

That doesn't sound good at all. Wat do.

  • What movie is this quote from?

"Life's about choices, man. One bad one can mess up every good one you ever made."

I know that this is exact, because I remember rewinding a couple times to make sure. I feel like it was probably two guys talking about going to a party or talking to a girl or something really high schoolish, and the first kid says no so the second says this. I'm 99% sure it was followed up with something like, "Man, where'd you hear that from?" "That was all me, man, swear to god."

There's a very high chance that this was from something on Netflix. It is driving me crazy.

  • How would one break apart the verb phrases in this sentence?

"If the coach had let me play, this would have been my first game."

So one verb phrase is "would have been," obviously. But in the clause that opens the sentence, would the phrase be "had let play," or would the verbs be broken into two separate phrases--"had let" and "play?"

  • What accent quirks make it obvious that an English person speaking French is not a native speaker?

Like, every non-native speaker of a language has some quirk that makes it obvious. When a French person speaks English, they often omit the "h" at the beginning of a word or whatever and German people speak all gutturally. It's always obvious. But what makes it obvious when an English-speaker speaks French?

  • What are major differences between French Latin and Anglo-Saxon?

In everything--phonetics, pronunciation, word structure, sentence structure, grammatical rules, etc.

And if at all possible, please gimme some sources.

  • How did French Latin influence the early English Language?

I know that many religious and scientific words were derived from Latin, but other than that. As in grammar or phonetics or anything.

Particularly, negative effects of French Latin on English, like confusing pronunciation or adding lengthy words that had already been taken from Anglo-Saxon and weren't necessary.

Sources, please. I have to make a mothereffing CATUM.

  • What books should I read?

I really, really hate classics. Like, anything written before 1995 is probably a no-go.

I'm a big fan of sci-fi and fantasy (specifically dystopian junk). I get bothered when there's no romance in a story, but that's not THAT big of a deal.

I prefer stuff written in first-person, but third-person isn't always bad.

I do not like dragons. I do not like wizard-stuff.

I've already read The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Mortal Instruments, Harry Potter, and most of the popular young adult stuff.

I also really like books like The Fault in Our Stars that just make me want to curl up and die.

I typically prefer reading books that are part of a series.

  • What books should I read?

I'm super duper in to post-apocalyptic kind of stuff. I really like the Forest of Hands and Teeth series, the Dustlands series, and of course Divergent and The Hunger Games. But, you know, I'm totally open to more than post-apocalyptic stuff. Typically more scif-fi and fantasy, though. I've got like $100 in Barnes and Noble credit. I'd love to spend it all.

  • Trying to find a particular quote from Mockingjay?

I'm writing this paper and I can't even explain it and ugh, but.

There's a quote in Suzanne Collins's Mockingjay, and I can't think of what it is exactly, and it isn't a remarkably significant one.

I think it's probably somewhere during one of Katniss's internal "My name is Katniss Everdeen. I am seventeen years old..." things, or going over her feelings about Snow, and she says something along the lines of "I do not have a sister. He took that from me." OR SOMETHING. I don't remember. I do remember that it made me start crying and that was a bad time. But.

So I'm trying to figure out what the exact quote is and where it is in the book.

  • Which game should I get?

    No time to explain.

    Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood,

    Bioshock 2,

    or Fallout 3

One game. I can get one of these games. For PS3.

  • How much should I charge for a PS2?

I'm in the process of trying to buy a backwards compatible PS3, so I'm not going to need my PS2 any more. It's decently used but still fully functional and comes with an 8 gig memory card, all required cables, and 3 wired controllers (two are in perfect condition, one sticks). It looks almost new. I can probably even find the base thing for it so that it can stand vertically, and I'd throw in a stupid Ratchet and Clank game.

    Whatever amount in USD
