  • Consumer rights advice needed for dispute with supplier?

Hi, I had a brand new Ottoman storage bed delivered in Dec 2013, 3 weeks later I realised that the reason I kept waking was that the so called "luxurious topping, for superior comfort and support", on the mattress had almost completely compressed to the point that the tufts (the button bits) were digging into my body, causing pain.

I complained to the seller, who said it was a comfort issue and if I wanted to give them 10% of the cost to cover admin + pay another delivery fee, (over £100), I could go in a choose another bed.

The problem with that is, I live in a Park Home with a tiny bedroom and specifically chose the bed for its size and storage facility, so I don't want another bed, I want the one I paid for, but with a decent mattress!

I refuted their finding and asked for an inspection. That has come back and said the the mattress meets UK standards and Tufts are a nature of the product.

I called consumer advise and they suggested I sent a letter stating it was not fit for purpose, . Received the response today and they are reinterating no fault found, and offering the exchange.

Consumer advise also suggested I try for charge back on my card, which I tried today but my bank won't do it for debit card payments.

Because the bed lifts, I can't turn the mattress over and have already rotated it so its the same on that side now. I've had to stick a spare duvet under the sheet, so I can get a decent nights sleep.

Does anyone know where I can go from here?

    Thanks

  • Why do I keep getting Yahoo is not responding?

Its driving me nuts!! I nearly threw my laptop at the wall earlier. I can never just go on and check my mail anymore, it takes at least two attempts to get in and then it keeps freezing, so reading, deleting etc takes ages.

    Anyone else getting this?

  • Scrapping the rookie rule in MotoGP?

If Honda can now take Marquez straight into the factory team and Rossi is almost sure to split with Ducati, where would he go next year? I can't see where else he can if the option of Honda is removed.

Or do you think Honda would be happy to put Marquez in a satalite team for a year or two if it meant they get Rossi, supposing they want him?

  • Nissan Almera door not locking?

Hi, my Almera won't lock or unlock from the drivers door, the key won't even turn. I have to do it from the passenger side. Have tried spraying with WD40, but nothing..

Does anyone know what might be causing it and how I might fix it? I really can't afford to take it to the garage and used to have the same problem with the passenger side and am worried they will both go and I won't be able to get in at all!

    Thanks

  • Well...what are you all going to do on a Sunday..?

now that all the racing has finished....not to mention Saturday's for qualifying....think I'll take up needlepoint or something!

Got the testing on Eurosport next week I suppose, that gets rid of one..

Suggested category: Religion and spirituality - well I usually pray that none of them get seriously hurt if there are any crashes, so may be not so wrong!

  • Wallpapering- where to start, any professional/good decoraters please?

Hi I am doing a feature (big patterned) wall in my bedroom and was just wondering to even it up should I measure the wall, mark the middle and then put the first piece up so that half the width of the paper hits that mark. I don't want to end up finishing on a piece about 3 inches wide or something. I think it would look odd.

Also why do they tell you what the repeat is, I always seem to cut of a lot more or less than they say to match the pattern so think I must be doing something wrong!

    Hope this makes sense :o)

  • Car CD Player wont play?

Hi, my Nissan almeria has inbuilt CD/Radio and the CD player works ok once I get it going but all I get for ages is cd error and it chucks them back out again. Any ideas what I can do, will it be ok to put a cd player cleaner in there to see if it needs cleaning? although I don't think that is the problem. All I have is a slot in the dash and the controls so changing it is going to be expensive and involve dismantling it I guess! Thanks

  • Good song for a funeral?

Am trying to find an uplifting song to play as everyone is leaving a crematorium after the service, don't want anything sad or religious. The deceased was a fan of the original Rat Pack, but any ideas that could be appropriate would be appreciated. Please no tasteless suggestions, this is for someone I loved dearly.

    Thanks

  • What dental treatment is covered by NHS?

Bit long winded, sorry...My dentist who I am sorry to say I can hardly understand suddenly said out of the blue that I have gum disease and gave me two options, visit a specialist that will be very expensive or I think, coincidentally, see her partner for treatment. While she was out of the room I asked the nurse for more info and she said what the dentist was recommending was expensive and there were no guarantees that the treatment would work either.

Whilst reading the NHS form they gave me for the filling cover or whatever it is she say's I need now, I noticed it say's all treatment I need, including periodontal work, should be on the NHS, and it also states maximum fee of £190 odd. I need to know if that is true, because I'm back this week for the prep work on the filling and I know she will pressure me again.

    Thanks for reading this...
