  • What are some good poems about sisters?

My sisters and I are considering getting "sisters" tattoos. We love the idea, and we're doing a lot of research. What we're thinking is that we'll find a poem about sisters that we love and draw up an image based on that. We're Googling around, but I thought I'd throw this out there and see what you guys have as well.

  • How much can I change my name after marriage in North Carolina?

I just eloped. It's been a decade coming, no cold feet there, but now I'm not sure about what's up with my name. Is my last name now his? Can I use either? Do I need to get a legal alias to use both? Can I add a middle name when/if I file paperwork?

If you know anything, let me know. I'd also love some links beyond what a Google gave me.

  • How much do I need to know to restore a classic car?

I'd like to learn more about cars, and I thought a good way would be to buy a moderately sound classic car and fix it up. Maintaining the car would also help me learn, and classic cars are lovely. I have intelligence, patience, a decent mechanic for instruction, and time. I'm thinking about a 70s 'Cuda or a late 60s Impala.

Anyone with experience restoring want to weigh in?

  • What books or texts belong in a well-stocked occult library?

I'm curious as to what books people think belong in well-stocked occult library. It's easy to throw the main holy text from major (or minor) world religions in there, but I'm looking to see what books people who study the occult seriously (semi-seriously, with other than sarcastic intent really) read. Care to throw some ideas out?

  • How do I put applesauce in Jiffy Mix scones?

I made some baked applesauce last night and it's awesome. Now I'm feeling like baking up some scones, and I wondered if I could somehow incorporate the applesauce. Ideas?

  • What are bad areas of Seattle?

I'm writing a story set in Seattle, and I'd like to add some flavor to it. What are the "bad" and "good" areas of Seattle? By this I mean, what are the areas where silly people are scared to walk because they think they'll get mugged, and where are the areas where anyone not wearing designer shoes will stick out?

  • How much would it cost (roughly) to have my cat taxidermied after she dies?

I know this is weird, guys, so please no trolling. I have a huge (20lbs) cat who I adore. She's getting old, and I move a lot for work. I don't want to leave her buried in some backyard somewhere when she passes (naturally). I am considering having her stuffed after she eventually dies, but I'm not sure what that would cost. Does anyone know? Has anyone done this?

  • Where can I find local art/craft fairs in the Michigan area?

I'm looking to sell some crafts I make. I know I can set up an Ebay or Etsy shop, but I'd also like to sell at local craft fairs. I've tried just Googling "craft fairs", but I'm not sure how to make sure the fair is a legitimate one and how to choose the best. Any advice?

  • What is it like to have a Psychiatric Service Dog?

I have been advised that a PSD might be a good solution for some problems stemming from military service. I'm interested, but I have some concerns. I've looked online at psychdog.com and some other sites. What I haven't found there are answers to some questions I have. Can anyone on here who has one (or knows someone with one) help me with any of them?

    1) Will getting a PSD make me overly dependent on him/her? Will I be able to progress with my treatment, or will I just rely totally on the dog without improving?

    2) What can I do about family members who think it's insulting to blind/ physically handicapped people for me to consider this? Is there merit in it? My doctor insists it's a good proven therapy method and I'm a good candidate for it, but I don't want to be rude.

    3) Is it better to train an adult rescue dog, properly vetted by a trainer, or to go through a program?

  • Is there a law in Michigan which keeps a tenant from moving out if a sub-leaser hasn't moved?

My cousin Gina was renting a house with the understanding from the owner (another cousin) that she was renting to own. He changed his mind and told her a month ago that she had a month to get out so he could sell the house. She doesn't have a formal lease, this being a family affair. Thing is, she has a sublease as a roommate who also has no formal contract. Gina told the sub-leasee (Danielle) a month ago that they both had to move. Danielle agreed and nothing much was said the rest of the month. Gina asked several times if Danielle had found a place and Danielle said she was looking. Danielle also refused to move to a new apartment with Gina if she had to be on the lease because she didn't trust Gina. Fast forward to yesterday, when Gina was going to move. The owner, Dave, stopped her as she was packing and said that she couldn't leave because Danielle wasn't gone yet. They went to Danielle's room and found all her things still there. Danielle came home while they were there. She said she had no idea she was supposed to go and that Gina hadn't said anything. She refused to leave without a new 30 days notice.

Okay. So obviously Danielle and Dave have stuff to work out. The thing is, Dave says legally Gina can't leave until Danielle does since Gina sublet the place to Danielle. I read all the tenancy laws and can't find any law that mentions this rule. Does anyone have anything to say to help me out?

  • Do I need a permit for a small counter-assembly in Virginia/DC?

For example, if a group is planning to picket an area, can I stand in front of them with my own signs peacefully?

  • Sims3 play problem- crashing plus custom content issues?

I've been looking into doing some custom content on my Sims3 game- reading the blogs and how-to guides online. My problem is two-fold.

First, even before I added any custom content my game will randomly crash, leaving me only what I've saved. My computer exceeds the specs. I'd like to uninstall and reinstall, but I'm not sure if I need to reinstall all the previous games or just Ambitions (my current expansion).

Second, one of the custom outfits I downloaded from the website keeps showing up on babies and toddlers and on my Sims when they're in the shower. It looks silly on the adults, but on kids it makes them invisible except for these huge elongated shapes which occasionally black out my screen as I scroll around. How do I delete these custom items? I downloaded them from the Sims Official site, so I thought they'd be at least functional. Sigh.

Any help here would be appreciated.

  • Can I start a small baking sideline business from home?

Baking is a hobby of mine, and I've been considering baking special event cakes and cupcakes as a sideline business. Is there a limit under which I can bake at home? I plan to report income on my taxes, but I'd prefer not to have to rent space when I don't know how often I'll have orders for the first while.

  • Has anyone become a life coach successfully?

I am considering becoming a life coach on the advice of some friends I helped through a bad spot. The problem is, I'm not sure if one needs to be certified or if the certification programs are scams. Is anyone doing this for a living? What are some good programs to check out? (Yes, I appreciate the humor in asking for advice on life-coaching.)

  • What are some good carry pistols?

I'm looking for suggestions for concealed carry pistols. I've been looking at a few and I just want to see if there are any cool ones I've missed. My preferences are:

    -Pistols, not revolvers

    -.40 or .45

-at least 9 or 10 rounds (my full size packs 20 rounds- I like more ammo)

Some that I've looked at are the PX4 Storm and the S&W M&P. What do you guys think?

  • Can I get a Rhodesian Ridgeback to get along with my cat?

My partner and I have an adult cat of reasonable grooviness. We're planning on getting a dog in a year or two, and we like the Rhodesian Ridgeback. Do they get along with cats? I know how to introduce pets, I've done it before, but I don't know anyone with this particular breed of dog. I'd hate to get a dog that couldn't adapt even when introduced as a puppy.

  • How cold is too cold to run?

I'm trying to train for a half marathon towards the end of the year, and I'm in terrible shape. I want to get motivated to run, but I'm stuck in MI where the temperature is around 10 degrees right now. Is that too cold to run? What should I do to make it easier to stick with my run? I keep going out and then turning around at the mile point because I'm FREEZING cold, but I'm wearing pants and a sweatshirt. How can I make this easier on myself so I don't wuss out?

  • How does one learn how to apply make-up?

This is a real question. I was a tomboy growing up and spent years in the military. Now I'm left as a reasonably grown adult with no idea how to put on make-up. Where do you start? How much do you wear? What is too much? Do I really have to wear eyeliner or can I just use mascara? I'm too embarassed to go ask a make-up woman... I did once a couple years ago and she was very condescending. Is there a step-by-step guide somewhere?
