I'm trying to figure out the best way to create a gunshot wound effect ON TOP of a shirt for a play I'm costume designing. All of the information I can find online gives instructions on how to do this on skin, but this needs to be done on cloth (probably a t-shirt). I'm thinking maybe of affixing some sort of other fabric to the t-shirt to make it easier, but I'm wondering if anyone out there has done this kind of thing, or might have any suggestions that might be helpful. Thanks!

I found a kosher grocery that sells them in Brooklyn, but it's in some crazytown neighborhood off the Q on the way to Coney Island, and I don't think I want to spend 2 hours on the train for some candy. But I would really like to find it for my roommate. Please only answer if you have seen this flavor of Mentos at your local bodega!! Strawberry is good, but they have those at the one by my apartment.

Any hints as to where I can get these? I don't care about any other flavors (obviously, since you can get those wherever).

Is it custom-made or off the rack (no pun intended)? Does anyone know where I can get something similar? It's so lovely!!

I bought some boots about a week and a half ago (11/24). They're awesome, I love them, etc, but I've worn them about 6 times since then and they are already starting to wear out (pretty badly) on the back of the heel! This is where my shoes normally wear, but after many, many uses, not SIX TIMES. The heels are stacked and I can already see the wood used to make the inside.

They're not $400 boots, but neither are they Payless (the brand is Chocolat Blu, in case you're wondering), and I'm just looking for advice as to what to do.

Options:

1. Try to take them back to the original store, though their return policy clearly states that the shoes need to have not been worn.

2. Take them to a cobbler and have them repaired with better materials.

3. Suck it up and tell everyone I know not to buy Chocolat Blu boots (even though they are mad cute).

I just want to know how angry I'm allowed to get. I mean, I don't expect my shoes to last forever, but a WEEK?!?! I think it's ridiculous.

I have a lot of belty things in my book that aren't right. I'm looking for something more motherly, along the lines of "Hold On" from Secret Garden but maybe less overdone. I'm a mezzo. Any genius ideas?

How did it work out? What needle did you use? I would like to make a dress out of it, and I'm a little concerned it won't work at all. Do I need some sort of industrial machine?

I know which one is right, I'm just trying to gauge how rampant this problem is.

I read it to see what all the fuss was about, and I was greeted with juvenile prose, predictable puzzles, and fairly typical characterizations. It seemed to me like Dan Brown should have skipped the novel part and just written a screenplay...but then the movie was awful as well.
