  • What happened to comments on Yahoo?

Why are we no longer allowed to comment on any story more serious than 'Gummi bear breast implants' on the Yahoo news homepage?

I used to come to Yahoo to read the news purely because the site offered the ability to comment on the largest variety and amount of stories. Now we can comment on maybe 2% as opposed to 80% of the news articles.

Oh yeah and I went to the help page to try and contact Yahoo over this annoyance and found that the only thing I can contact them about is comment abuse. Of which there is now none because no one can comment on the interesting stories.

Please someone tell me why this... I'm so irked.

  • Could you give me some poetry prompts please?

I need some creative prompts to break me out of writer's block. I was thinking along the lines of a type of poetry linked with a theme that I could write about...

    Example: Acrostic poem about Sparrows.

Best answer will get 10 points... And multiple options in one answer would be great :)

  • When did the phrase 'as if' originate?

Now, I know it was popularized in the movie 'Clueless' in 1995 but I've been busting a gut trying to find out if it was used before that. I'm pretty sure it can't have been invented just for that movie (although I could be wrong) so I'm trying to find out where the phrase 'As if' (meaning unlikely or yeah right) came from.

If someone could help me out I would be much obliged.
