  • can i give my dog cod liver oil capsules?

My 18 month old chocolate lab has OCD (not Compulsive disorder !!) - its arthritis in the elbows - he has had operation on both legs and is on tablets from the vet - Previcox. Its so sad as he wants to run but when he does he suffers. I know it shouldnt be a case of money but these tablets are so expensive. I was wondering if I could put cod liver oil in his food like we have for our joints. He is on the Hills food which has all the fish oils etc in and these Previcox tablets. Please advise. I dont want to ask the vet cos I know he will say no - he is very money orientated - but I need to know if its possible and wont harm the dog in any way.

  • Just found out my son's a drug dealer?

What makes it worse is that my step son gave him the stuff to sell in the first place.

Now there is conflict between my husband and me (its his son that gave it to my son). His son is 27 and mine is 17. Its causing problems within our family (although other family members outside the home dont know). Im seriously angry with his son AND mine. He's angry with his son but can't see that his son is much more at fault than mine. What do you guys think ?

  • My mother has a golden retriever and he had ear problem. Is the vet right?

I have a chocolate labrador and am lucky enough to live near the beach. He is constantly in the sea and loves water generally. We dry him as best as we can and pay particular care of his ears. We haven't had any problem with infection or anything. My mum has a golden retriever and noticed that her dog was shaking his head and whining a little. She took him to the vets and he said he had an infection and that it had been caused by going in water and/or puddles. My mum has never took her dog to the water and the only time he gets wet is when my brother baths him for her and again, he takes care of his ears. The vet then went on to say that this breed should not go into water at all as they are prone to infection.

My query is: My mum has definitely not taken him in water. AND I cannot believe that he is saying never ever to take labradors or retrievers in the water. You see these breeds in water all the time. Can someone help me please. The vet gave my mum expensive drops for his ears and she has to go back in 4 weeks for another load.

  • My dog keeps eating other dog's poo?

I have a 6 month old chocolate labrador who keeps eating other dog's poo. It's awful. I pull him away and tell him 'NO'. The worst was the other day when he was off the lead and went into a bush - I called him and he wouldn't come out of the bush - his head bent down eating 'something'. I went back to him to pull him out by his collar and his face was covered in dog's mess - runny and horrible. I couldn't go near him to put his lead on but we walked back to the house and he was licking his lips with joy. Yuk. Help, any advice. Is there something wrong with him?

  • Should Muhammed Al Fayed have paid court costs?

I agree that this should all be put to rest now for the sake of the Princes. But, is it fair that us tax payers should pay the millions of pounds that it cost for the inquest that Al Fayed insisted on having. If an individual went to court they would have to pay court costs or get legal aid if they were unable to pay - Al Fayed owns Harrods for g--s sake. Why should we have to pay HIS court costs?

  • What's your opinion regarding the inquest on Diana?

Do you think if fair to say that Henri Paul was 'drunk'. Do you think Diana's bodyguard would have let her get in the car with a guy that was drunk. He has said that Henri Paul was OK to drive - no-one listens to him. Was it an accident due to Paparazzi chasing them and Henri driving to fast? Would they have survived had they been wearing seat belts? Are you satisfied with the outcome or do you still think that it was a plot to kill Diana?

  • My step daughter has raked up old problems?

....when I thought everything was OK. My step daughter is now 25 and I have lived with her father since she was 12. Her mother was an alcoholic and prescription drug addict and lived 300 miles away - no contact. When I and my 2 boys moved in everything was fine - she had a brother of 13 as well - so there were 4 kids. Then the weird stuff started to happen. I caught her pretending to cry in front of a mirror. She was always saying that my boys who were then 6 and 4, were trying to watch her when she got undressed. Loads of my stuff - jewellry (heirlooms), money from my family when they visited went missing and her brother got the blame. Cut a long story short - we thought she was jealous of me with her father and we tried to address it. She confided in a teacher who was also a friend of ours and between them my partner was 'forced' to let her foster my step daughter. A year went by and I approached her to make amends and to start being a family.

  • Help, please please help.?

It's my 18 year old son...He has always been a 'problem' from the word go and I have met brick walls along the way in trying to get him help as he has ADHD and OCD. This isn't an excuse for his behaviour I know. It's getting worse and worse. He looks at things in an unbelievable way - for example. I left him a note to say that I had moved his motorbike into the front garden as we have workmen outside and it would have been in the way when they turned up. I didn't want him to think the workmen had moved it. When I went home at lunchtime he was there and shouted at me for leaving him a note like he was a little kid. We have a puppy dog and when I arrived home the front door was open. I asked him where the puppy was as he is usually left in the kitchen. He said he didn't know where the puppy was so I told him about the front door being left open. Luckily we founf the puppy safe and sound under the table but he had no idea where he was and said - 'He won't go out'.

  • Has anybody heard of this christian name?

My dad's middle christian name was Rectus. Which as you can well imagine, he hated. His father also had the name. I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this name and if so, where it originated from.

  • Am I walking my puppy too much ?

Have a chocolate labrador who is 15 weeks old. I regularly walk for 20 minutes in morning and evening. At weekends we go out for about 2 hours walking and playing with him. Someone told me this is too much and that he will always expect it. Also that it can damage his legs and make him bandy if he walks too much - I'm confused - Help please.

  • I'm being bullied by my teenage son?

I have 2 teenagers at home and a 12 year old. All boys. I also have a 36 year old who is happily married and I'm very proud of. Big gap between 1st son and rest of the boys as started new relationship. My 18 year old has always been a bother - he has ADHA and OCD and this has only just been recognised. I hate confrontation and to keep it brief - I give in to save arguments when my partner gets home. Lots of money and running around is done for him by me. He's a 'jack the lad' as well and has been in loads of trouble - and paid for it - but his attitude at home stinks and he knows I can't handle it when my partner gets involved as I feel, strangely enough, that I should stick up for my son. How pathetic. My son isn't worried about confrontation ANYWHERE and as I work locally he contacts me at work or turns up - so, what do I do? Give in. It's getting so bad, I'm leaving work and giving him a lift somewhere - lying to work so I can sneak out. HELP- what can I do?
