Your views on the new UK abortion law?

22 weeks - I still think this is too late. Comments/views please.

Update:

As far as I was aware the law will be changed to 22 weeks.

I have to agree with that if you cannot decide whether you want to keep a baby or not BEFORE 20 weeks then you should keep it and have it adopted.

Update 2:

As far as I was aware the law will be changed to 22 weeks.

I have to agree with Ellis that if you cannot decide whether you want to keep a baby or not BEFORE 20 weeks then you should keep it and have it adopted.

I totally agree with you but the law hasn't changed. The stupid politicians have left it at 24 weeks. Absolutely disgusting - it is nothing more than murder. The baby moves and is fully formed. How can a potential mother who has felt her unborn baby move in her belly - kill it. There is plenty of time to think about whether the pregnancy is wanted or not and you should make up your mind no more than, I would say, 15 weeks. No caring female would kill an unborn child at 24 weeks surely. What about all the women and couples that cant have children. If the pregnancy is still unwanted then I think they should carry on and have thebaby adopted. There is absolutely no reason justifiable for a termination at 24 weeks. Even after 15 weeks - I think is too late.

  • Probably to do with the fact that many abnormalities can't be picked up until the 20 week scan. I agree in this case that a woman should not have to continue with her pregnancy but think it wrong to let her have an abortion so late because she has changed her mind

I agree. I am 22 weeks pregnant right now and can feel my baby kicking and is definately alive and healthy! I think it should be no more than 15 weeks personally.

ironic when they are saving prem babies at 22-23 weeks gestation, and now will be aborting them at the same stage.i wonder how any woman can be callous enough to abort a fully formed child at such a late stage without exceptional reason.

It's not a new law, it's not been changed. And it's 24 weeks not 22.

The MPs voted and the majority ruled. And I agree.

I would have thought that a woman would know whether she was pregnant well before five and a half months...I can't see the need to wait until then...maybe someone would enlighten me...
