Washington, D.C.3 years agoHow to cut a cauliflower into steaks.?

7 AnswersCooking & Recipes4 years agoCan this sauce be saved? I made sauce today with passata (tomato puree) instead of whole tomatoes like I usually do.?
I do not care for the taste at all. It tastes raw (cooked it for an hour like my regular sauce), somewhat bitter, and is way too thick.
Any ideas?

3 AnswersBuying & Selling7 years agoOven Fried Green Tomatoes Problem?
I made these yesterday and thought they tasted good but am dissatisfied with two elements. 1) I wish I could get more of the buttermilk to stay on the tomato before I dip it into the cornmeal. 2) They taste a little sandy. I realize that if they were fried that would take care of it the sandy part, but I can't do frying any more for health reasons. I would like them to taste a little less sandy.
This is my basic recipe. I coat a baking pan with sunflower oil. I cut my tomatoes into medium slices, dip them in buttermilk, then into cornmeal with a bit of salt. I bake, turning them over halfway.
I want to use buttermilk and cornmeal. I was wonder if dipping the slices into flour first, prior to the buttermilk, would help. If I could get my buttermilk thicker that might help. Any ideas?

3 AnswersHeart Diseases8 years agoNaju Pear Wine in Cooking?
A friend of mine gave me a bottle of pear wine from Naju, Korea. She thought it was a desert wine. It is not. At least not to my palate. The wine has a strong taste and I don't care for it. I was wondering how I might use it in cooking. I tend to like alcohol better in cooking.
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes9 years agoI need a car with a soft gas pedal.?
I have chronic tendonitis in my right ankle. My old car, a 99 Plymouth Breeze, did not cause my ankle any problems. My new car is Nissan Ultima 2005 and exacerbates my ankle condition. I am currently using hand controls to avoid using my feet. This is not a long term solution. I was thinking of buying another 99 Breeze but it was such a crappy car. I have spoken to many people about this and no one has been able to help me.

5 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoSuggestions for inner ear congestionn and post nasal drip?
I have been to two MD's--one an ENT. They have prescribed nasal sprays which I find intolerable--sore throat and stomach ache being two of the side effects. Outdoor allergies are bad right now. I have not being going out for weeks. I have been taking antihistimines. Can't take decongestants because of high blood pressure.

2 AnswersTheater & Acting1 decade agoOther sites like Last.fm that have a better classical music section? Other neat websites to hear classical?
I do like the radio feature on FM. I am also interested in finding other websites that include that kind of radio features, as well as websites where you can hear classical music for free. I do not have the best internet connection (and cannot afford a better one) and sometimes the actual classical radio stations do not come in as strong as I would like.
3 AnswersClassical1 decade agoWhat is helpful for eyes irritated by allergies?
I am allergic to spring and dust mites. I am doing what I can to reduce the dust mites. My eyes just feel irritated--scratchy and my lids are a little swollen. No rednness yet. I would like to know what over the counter drops people would recommend, as well as anything else. Also open to alternative remedies. I have tried the Allergy Eyes by Similisan but they do not do it for me. I am about to try Zantac. I have also done a sinus rinse to make sure my sinuses are not blocked.
