My husband died 2 months ago on July 3. I am really missing him and at the same time I know I need to move on with my life. I know that he wants me to do that. I guess I need some inspiration and motivation to do it.

I am not too much into romance unless it is well written. The books that I have interesting lately have been "Water for Elephants", "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West" "The Hundred Secret Senses" and "Tuesdays with Morrie" Can you recommend a good book and a brief review?

Over the course of time, I have seen many people complain about the sad state of affairs our country is in. They say they are ashamed to be Americans and then get ticked off when people tell them to leave. So they complain more about the attitudes of us that appreciate the fact that we live in a country founded on the concepts of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Granted their is much to be improved in our wonderful country, but it is going to take more than simply complaining on a forum such as this. I was taught that if you don't like the way something is, then take steps to try to make it better. Therefore, I wonder, do you think the people who get on here and complain are doing anything really to improve our country?

I have looked at R&S questions, asked a few questions and tried to answer a few questions. It seems as though several people that try to ask legitimate questions only to be hounded. As I was looking tonight, I wondered if R&S were broken down into denominations where questions could be asked by catholics to be answered by catholics or Jewish could ask other Jewish people questions, or people of other faiths could ask questions. Would that cut down on the bickering?

I am a believer, quite frankly some of the remarks made by so-called Christians really irk me. I just thought that maybe it would help to make the categories more specific. What are your thoughts on this idea?

At one time, daylight savings time was set up in six month intervals. That was bad enough. Now they have extended the length of daylight savings time to 8 months. Why not just set the time on daylight savings time and leave it? People would not have to go through the transitition from on time to the next. It just seems to me that it would be more productive to leave the time at either daylight savings time or standard time instead of switching back and forth.

My shelter dog is 14 and recently has developed a weakness in her lower back which is causing her to drag her back feet when she walks. We took her to the vet and he said that she was not getting the signals to the back end like she should. He did not reccommend surgery as she still gets around well.

Most days are good for her, but other days she wants to be lifted up and down off her furniture, into vehicles, etc. and seems to have a harder time lifting herself up and down. I was just wondering what, if anything else, I could do for her.

A long time ago I read a short story in which the race horse Man 'o War had just arrived in heaven. Over the last year I have been getting what starts out like a pimple in my underarm. After a few weeks, it will break open, bleed and more or less be a hole. Then it will heal, but just with a thin layer of skin over it. Yes I know I need to go to the doctor and plan to make an appointment today. It may be many days before I get in. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this before and if you had any ideas about what it is.
