My college friends and I were hanging out one night and smoking a hookah. I accidentally pulled a little too hard on the tube and the hot charcoal fell to the floor and burned a small part on my friend's rug.
She obviously became upset with me and wants me to replace it. She paid $40 for this rug over a year ago and I told her that I would give her the $40. She had a FIT and told me that the same rug is now $88 and she would accept no less than that.
I'm a college student paying my own tuition and I work full time. I realize I made a mistake (albeit an accident) and feel that paying the cost of what she paid for the rug is reasonable.
What do you think?

We're both 23 and met through a reputable dating service. We talk 3-4 hours a day on the phone and have for 2 months. He is visiting me in a couple weeks and if all goes well with that (and I can't see why not) would you continue a long distance relationship if you were me? I'm about to graduate college in May and don't know where I'm moving but it's not here! I live in Missouri and he lives in Texas...what do you all think?
