  • Question about follow up after a first date.?

Ladies if you can help me a bit. Ive been out of the dating game for a long while (longterm GF) and havnt really been on a date in a long time. Well I had a first date with this girl a few days ago, though it went well, we got along great and she seemed to like me. Well I called to hang out again and she pulled the "not feeling well" card. I want to text or call her again but she hasnt texted or called me first since the first date so I dont know if she is still intrested or whatnot. and want to avoid being that creepy guy calling or texting too much. Opinions? Should I move on or keep trying, I really liked her and thought we were pretty compatible.

  • Ladies, why do so many of you think?

You are honestly physically stronger/as strong as most men? This woman I know was SO sure she could squat as much as me (I am 6'0, 180, she is 5'8 160), so we go to the gym and I go to the squat rack, and she's like ,"No i meant the leg press machine." I just started laughing and informed her that didnt count. So we put on two plates and she cant even do that. Seriously, Ive met so many girls that think claim are stronger then me or can kick my butt yet I have not seen a single woman bench, squat or dead lift more then me at the gym, ever. I am sure there are plenty of olympic powerlifting women that could kick my a$$, but why is it suddenly becoming a common thought among women that the average woman is ANYWHERE as strong as the average guy? I mean, feminism has taken everything else from guys, now we arent even allowed to be physically stronger?

  • Why do anti gun people think they are invincible?

and it cant happen to them or "I live in a good neighborhood" like a mugger is going to be like, "Huh, good neighborhood, cant rob anyone here". I honestly thought the same way when I was younger because I grew up sheltered and was under the impression that everyone was friendly and "It cant happen to me". Freshmen year of college I was foolishly walking home from a friends alone at 12am and was approached by a guy asking for directions, naively I approached him and started talking to him and he said to give him my wallet, I just kinda stared and out of no where his friend came up behind me and bashed me in the head with a rock, I fell but got up and took off and got away. Had 12 stitches to show for it though. And this was in a "good" neighborhood. Now, a gun probably wouldn't have helped me here, but not having a "It cant happen to me and everyone is my friend" attitude sure could have prevented it. I am tired of anti-gun people calling me paranoid, just wait until it happens to them and they have that powerless outnumber feeling, it is terrible to say the least.

  • Are people who are anti-gun for the most part just very unfamiliar?

and sacred of guns? I have one friend who is very antigun and he was over at my house the other day with another friend who asked to see my new .38. So I brought it out and showed that the cylinders were empty and handed it to the guy who asked to see it and my anti-gun friend was freaking out. I tried to explain how unloaded it was just a piece of metal and he could clearly see that the cylinders were empty and it was impossible for it to fire.(Keep in mind it wasnt being pointed at him or anything). Are all anti gun people just clueless about the operation of fire arms?

  • Revolver vs Semi for personal defense?

I say revolver, my friend says semi. I have both (S&W Sigma .40 and a S&W .38) but I am more accurate with my .38, it is less likley to jam or misfire, and it is quicker to shoot. My friends only argument is that semis hold more and he has a 32 round clip for his glock. I mean come on, when are you going to need 32 rounds for defense? Unless you plan on getting attacked by an army of angry ninjas or something, 32 rounds seems like overkill and Id even argue that such large clips should be illegal because the only use I can think of for a clip that large is to go on a rampage. Opinions?

  • How can some people say the Beatles suck?

or are overrated? Mostly people (kids) under 21, but I have been hearing this a lot latley. Do they realize half the garbage they probably listen to wouldnt be around if the Beatles did not exist? I mean, if you really dont like them (which I find hard to believe if you have listened to Revolver, Abby Road, or The White Album in their entirety and not just yellow submarine or the other poppy Beatles songs most kids name when they think of the Beatles) at least acknowledge their friggen influence. /rant

  • How would you rate this season of South Park 1-10?

And preferably explain a bit. For me 6/10. Especially compared to last season, I barely found myself laughing out loud which is usually a common occurrence. I am hoping they pick it up in the second half. Matt and Trey really need to think about ditching the potty humor, after 15 years it is starting to get stale.

  • Why do people refuse to admit that Radiohead...?

may not be the best band ever or of the last decade or two for that matter? A few of my friends are rabid Radiohead fans and saying Radiohead may be overrated to them is worse then insulting their mothers. I mean, common, the bends was a good album, and ok computer was decent, but to be honest, Radiohead bores the living crap out of me and comes across as pretentious and overly produced IMO. And interestingly enough my friends who claim to love them so much never seem to sit through an entire Radiohead album either............

  • Top 5 most overrated bands of all time?

I am sure this question is already asked too much, but I did an underrated bands awhile ago and got some interesting answers. Be sure to have a brief explanation why. Overrated is a relative term so keep that in mind.

Velvet Underground- Maybe I just dont get it, but I cant really get into any of their music and some people have them on their top bands ever.

Nirvana- I like Nirvana a lot, but I really think Kurt's suicide elevated peoples perceptions of them to a level that musically they just don't belong in. Kurt was a great front man, song writer and vocalist, but as a guitarist was really not special, there is a reason beginner guitar players learn a lot of Nirvana songs.

The Doors- Pretty much same as Nirvana. I like them quite a bit, but Morrison's personality and untimely death really over elevated them IMO. I own most their albums and really find myself skipping most songs when I listen, just too long and out there on some tracks.

Kiss- The pinnacle of overrated, second rate pop rock that relied on presentation and theatrics over talent.

Metallica- One really good album, the rest not so much. And they deserve their own guitar hero? Please.

Honorable mentions; G&R(Slash made them bearable, IMO) , The Rolling Stones, The Grateful dead ( I assume being on 10 hits of acid makes their music bearable)

  • Cheerleading a sport?

I was just arguing for an hour with an ex cheerleader who swears it is a sport. If cheerleading is a sport so is dancing. That doesnt mean cheerleaders are not athletic or that they dont work hard, but a sport is an event where you either win or lose by a point system and there are clear winners and losers. Yes, that means I think things like gymnastics or diving are not sports either, athletic activities? Sure, not saying that gymnasts are not athletic or talented. But if it requires a judge and the "winner" is up to opinion, it does not count as a sport IMO.

  • Religion relies on geography more then anything else?

How do you argue the fact that where you are born plays more of a part in your religion then anything else? If you were born in India you would likely be Muslim or Hindu, If you were born in Israel you would likely be Jewish, United States, Christian. Ect Ect. I know this is a common point but I have yet to hear a good rebuttal to it.

  • Best way to quit/lower caffine intake?

and avoid withdraw? I usually start the day with a couple cups of coffee and a caffeine pill, but I am not a person who like to feel dependent on anything, so tried to quit cold turkey today. The withdraw was terrible, I couldn't even function, I felt horribly ill and had to go home early. I quit cigarettes years ago cold turkey and the withdraws from that were not even a fraction as horrible, I had no idea caffeine withdraw was so nasty, even more of a reason to quit . Any advice on how to make it a bit easier? Gradual decrease in intake, any medication that may help ect, ect.

  • If our minds or spirits survive death?

How do you explain people like my grandmother with severe dementia, she is still technically alive but cant talk, recognize anyone, cant respond to any stimuli or do anything. Pretty much brain dead. So is she already in heaven, or does that happen when her body dies? If our minds dont always survive life, what makes people think they will survive death?

  • So just how wierd is it for a single college guy to have a cat?

I am a 24 year old student living in an apartment. I just moved out of another apartment that didnt allow pets. So I go to the animal shelter to get a dog, but the weight limit for dogs here is 20 pounds and all the dogs that fit the criteria were the nippy yippie types which I hate. Ive never been a cat person, but I fell in love with a kitten at the shelter and adopted him. I never even knew there was a stigma about male cat owners until all my friends unanimously agreed, being single and having a cat made me weird and would be a total turn off to girls. Again, Ive never heard this before. Not that I really care either way, because I like the cat and am not getting rid of him because having him is "lame" or "gay". Ladies especially, does this stigma really exist?

  • How many of you have lucid dreams regurarly?

I realize it is not really religion related, but oh well. I usually have 1-2 a week, first thing I always do the second I realize I am dreaming is take off and start flying around, so fun. Anyway, share your experiences.

  • Are "agnostics" just trying to above the argument?

Is anyone truly agnostic? Most people, atheist or theist, admit that they are not 100% sure making them an agnostic theist or atheist. I find it hard to believe that so called agnostics don't have some sort of inclination one way or another, in other words perfect neutrality. Most agnostics I have met seem to claim that title so they can stay on their high horse and insult both sides of the argument as being stupid.

  • Why is college so much like high school 2.0?

So i am in my second year of college and i must say i have been massively disappointed. Everything from the classes to the people is just like a high school extension. How many times can they keep teaching me the exact same thing (American history yet again!), i literally have learned almost nothing new all two years and why oh why cant kids who are 21 and older grow up? I'm almost finally done with basics so the classes should get a little more interesting, but seriously, am I the only kid here tired of beer pong and drunk hook ups? I thought college was supposed to prepare us for the adult world but i cant help feeling like i am paying exorbitant amounts a semester for a 18+ day care. Sorry for the rant, any advice? ( I go to a well respected state university in Texas)

  • Skill based match making MW3?

I play on 360, and I most the time have some friends to play on a team with, but i also go solo a lot. When i play by myself i always get paired with a bunch of low levels or just plain bad/screwing around people and our team gets annihilated and i have to put up with all the kill streaks and crap and i just get frustrated as hell. Does anyone know if there is going to be a patch that matchmakes by rank, or K/D or something? It would seem a lot more fair.

  • Xbox live not working after last update?

So my xbox downloaded the newest update successfully, but now will not sign into xbox live. I tried restarting the router and a message pops up about port forwarding. On the diagnostics everything connects, network, internet, but not xbox live. What could be the problem? It was working fine just before the update?
