  • My friend really hurt my feelings....not sure.....?

I had asked a question about her about 2 weeks ago( I deleted it because it was in the wrong category) she always made comments about me being native American. Always asked me to do a rain dance and pretended to speak the Cherokee language and dance around, think I would give my horse," Crazy Indian names" ect. allot of people said she doesn't sound like a very good friend... But I was like, well, I'll give her another chance she's my "friend" we went to Cherokee NC together on a trip I had been planning for months I was so excited! She did a bit of her normal "he-haw-heee" crap but I was just like whatever, then she started making comments about the Cherokee( I am Cherokee) not being cool because we didn't live in teepee's and have totem poles, Was embracing me in the Indian village. And then she really hurt my feelings bad.... It wasn't native American related like usual. We were sitting in the car getting ready to go see "unto these hills" (best drama ever btw! definitely recommend it!) and she had a whole bunch of fruit snacks and everything. I am a vegetarian, Fruit snacks have gelatin in then which has animals bones and other stuff in it so I can't eat it. she asked my cousin if she wanted any and she said no, she's not a vegetarian she just thinks gelatin is gross because she doesn't know what's in it and then asked my little sister if she wanted some and she said she didn't like it either. Then she said," AWW C'mon Brooke you don't want to end up like your sister do you?" And I said "Excuse me?" and she was like," well you need protein and you supposed to eat animals!" I said that I get plenty of protein and I happen to love animals so much I CANNOT eat them! then she came up with some other excuse and I got her for that to and then she said," well you just shouldn't be vegetarian" I felt like I had been punched in the gut....I ignored her the rest of the trip, only answering her questions trying to not act mad.....but it crushed me and that night I cried my eyes out in the bath tube for 30 minutes...... she keeps sending me messages on FB like," we need to hang out!" and stuff, Messaging my mom asking for me to come over. I just really don't want to be her friend but.... My moms like," you can't turn on a friend like that!" and is just like get over it! she doesn't even care....... My mom always says when I fight with my sister," don't talk t her like that! I would never let someone treat you like that!" hmmmm looki now mom... I don't treat brooke like that....I just really think I'm done with her but what do you think? I am NOT good about being like," hey you hurt my feelings we need to talk about it." I am an extremely shy person and feel like I'm dying inside when I'm confronting someone or even just ordering food...( I know I'm lame....) Oh great people of the internet please help me!

  • how to stand up for myself?

I'm a vegetarian and people are really jerky to me! Even this lady at my old church, we were at a harvest party and she was like," come eat." everything was meat and she asked why I wasn't eating and I said I was a vegetarian. She was like," we'll there's chicken and fish."( I was majorly insulted, REAL vegetarians don't eat any meat!) and I said I don't eat any meat, then she rolled her eyes at me and said," its just a teen thing, you'll grow up and quit." it hurt my feelings really bad and I didn't know how to respond so I just gave her a look and walked away, my mom was kind of like leave her alone but not much. Then another time we had my parents friends and my friends over and they were all eating chicken and I was just standing there and talking, they asked if I wanted any and I politely said " no I'm a vegetarian." then they stared at me and where like," why don't you eat meat? God said you could!"(he's a pastor of our old church, I bet you know why we left, I just felt so un comfortable) and I just said I love all animals and never fancied the taste(before I became a vegetarian I would literally cry looking at a hamburger knowing that a cow had to DIE just for me to eat something I didn't even enjoy and would feel really sick after even eating shrimp even though they're not exactly, I don't know, pets?) and Shelby said," we love animals to, they just taste better in our tummies." I laughed but was kind of embraced and like ' how could you say that to me? can't just respect my life style? I have no problem with you eating meat!' and even my dad is always so disapproving! He's constantly like," you know you CAN eat fish!" and I simply say, "no, I can't and don't want to." he always says I don't know anything about being a vegetarian and if my mom asks me if I want fruit snacks and I say no because they have gelatin in them and it has animals bones in it he says," no it doesn't! you know nothing!" and I'm just like," oh really? who's done all the freaking research knowing what I can and can't eat? and read ALL the labels of EVERYTHING I eat?"

my friends dad also bugs me about it, especially about horse slaughter, he says," its good protein!" and I'll tell him," well actually the things we put into our horses can cause cancer and other stuff, and also the bible says not to eat them....."( horses are my fav animals and I have 3 been around them all my life and everything, VERY against horse slaughter)

I just don't quiet no how to respond when people ask stupid questions or criticize me! It happens allot too......Ether I don't react and just run away or I get really angry and tell them to mind they're own business(my family....)! How can I tell people they're offending me and to just respect my life style and leave it alone!

  • new event colors???!!!?

alright, I am an eventer and I want new cross country colors! I am eventing on my 24 year old Arabian gelding( not anything over 2'3" he had a knee injury before I owned him, but is completely sound now, want to keep him that way though. He was a 2-3* event horse I think.) My little Tb filly isn't going to be eventing for a while so I decided to give seri a go since I can't lease another horse when I already have 3!

My last event colors for my horse cheater was royal blue, like the color but there's so many! I was thinking something like, red, royal blue, and black... He's cherry bay, I want something that'll look awesome on him and is unique! I was even thinking pink but hehe, he's a gelding and he'd probably full out gallop towards a stone wall and put on the brakes and let me slam into it if I put him in pink lol.

What y'all think about some ideas?

  • why's my kitty doing this?

I have this cat named sock. I bottle fed him and his sister Mariah after his mother left them and took the other three(she was a stray and it was her first time, she had 3 litters by the time she warmed up to us and we were able to get her spayed!) He's my baby and I Guess he see's me more as his mom since his real mom was around 2 days... He's a very sweet cat, he's about 4 now, almost five(man they grow so fast!) and he gives kisses when you bend down to him on your noes :) I like to have him in the bathroom when I take a bath, he likes to sit up on the rim and he'd get in if I'd let him! He always purrs and purrs and rubs into my face and licks my forehead and nibbles my ears, talks to me! It doesn't hurt and its really cute, but why's he doing it? I'm pretty sure its affection what do you think? he love his momma( he's watching me right this btw...)

  • showing mini rex rabbits in 4-h?

ok, I have been in 4-h and clover buds showing horses since I was able to be in it. I have a 2 Year old thoroughbred filly to train this year and I'm not going to do allot with her, just taking her for experience, and I always wanted to show rabbits and since I won't be doing every single day of fair with my horses like I normally do I decided I'd like to show my two mini rex rabbits sonic and cream.

but my 4-h club isn't the most knowledgeable in rabbits so can some body please tell me what to do, what my rabbits could get disqualified for and so on..... basicly everything.... I am knowledgeable in rabbit care, have always had them and bred them( getting ready for another litter so excited can't wait to see the kits!) PLEASE somebody help me I'm lost xD

they are both purebred mini rex, sonic is a broken black buck and cream is a castor, the prettiest one I've ever seen to. they're both about a year now.

    HELP ME! :)

  • show names for my new horse?

I just got a 2 yo thoroughbred filly, I've known her since she was 13 months old and from the second I touched her I knew she was mine, and a while of begging and promising to do my homeschool really well, and get a job once I could to help pay off board(I have a barn at my house but we only have 2 stalls and I have a Shetland and an arab there) and showing her she was a very smart, sweet filly and not mean(she wasn't handled well because she wasn't going to make a race horse because she's was majorly cow-hocked when she was a baby baby, straight now though, never properly halter broken or messed with enough and is stall "aggressive" its fear she grits her teeth to try and scare you off but she'd never dare to bite. we have a really good bond, she is jumpy around everyone else outside of her stall, getting better every time I work with her though :D ) my mom finally said yes. and she needs a unique show name. her barn name is papoose, I want her show name to really mean something. and she reminds me of spirit and that's my fav movie so I want it to be kind of a spirity name. I need some help!!!

  • 4-h bit question please answer!?

ok, I have been doing 4-h since I was 8 and started out with my little Arabian that I grew up with, but I retired him from showing about 2 years ago,(he's almost 24 and has an old knee injury from his eventing days doesn't bug him much though) but, my little sister has out grown her Shetland pony and my mom asked if she could use my arab whose the best easiest going guy there is(I re-trained him) but he's not a fan of bits, after I retired him from showing I stoped using a bit on him and never used a saddle, he just didn't need em' and he absolutely insists that he doesn't use a bit even though its just a thick snaffle. I have a hackamore but I don't think I can use that in 4-h, and he HATES bits, he'll take the bit but he constantly throws his head and acts up with it and my sister is only 10 and has only ever ridden her pony. without the bit he's absolutely fine though, perfect gentlemen, and suggestions? she's shown him in a bit and he was just a little brat, threw his head the whole way around the ring almost hit her in the face a couple times and cantered on her a couple times and he comes out of the ring and stares at me like," ha, wanna keep using the bit now? I DON'T NEED IT!!!"

his training is fine I did it myself, just hates bites, I was thinking of trying a rubber bit, but I'm not sure if he could show in it or if he'd tolerate that either.
