  • What sibling boy names go with Dante?

My Husband wants Virgil, as it fits perfectly... but I really couldn't name our son Virgil. That seems cruel to me lol

We're not Italian btw, white Irish/English people... We like old fashioned unusual English names and dark religious names (we're atheists). Any suggestions?

Doing the Ice Bucket Challenge but wont get Baptized?

Just seen someone share this on Facebook and lots of comments on it about how funny it is... but I don't get it. Is it because I'm atheist?

How are the two even close to the same thing? apart from the water on your head, why is this so hilarious?

  • anyone else having problems with Facebook?

For the last 20 mins or so, I've been unable to do a status update, like or comment on other posts.

I can however send private messages. It's not my account as I have logged into my Husbands (who I also sent the PM to)... can't do anything on his either, but did receive the PM :-/

There's just a pop up that says "There was a problem, please try again in a few minutes"

  • What movies have strong female leads?

It's my step sister's Birthday next month. She's turning 16, and she's an aspiring actress.

I want to get her a load of "must see" films with great female leads. We're in the UK, so British films would be great! Please make any suggestions at all as I want to get a whole range of genres.

Here are some I have already listed, from what I have found online:

    The Color Purple

    Breakfast at Tiffany's

    Misery

    Monster

    The Help

    Alien

    Chicago

    Silence of the Lambs

    The Whale Rider

    V for Vendetta

    Mona Lisa Smile

    Made in Dagenham

  • Making a Light Shade - Help! Elastic Cord?

I've got an idea for a light shade. It's got bits hanging off of it and really I want the cord it's hanging from to be clear... The only thing I can find like this is the elastic cord used for jewellery making. Wont this melt though? as it will be hanging quite close to the light bulb... Does anyone have any other suggestions?

  • Lower back and abdomen pain. Is it to do with my Poly-cystic Ovaries?

On Saturday evening I got a really bad back. It was in my lower right back. This got worse so by Monday morning I was doubled over in pain and barely able to move. Last night I stood up and was amazed to find that the pain had gone! It was really weird, but the pain did come back again 2 hours or so later. Not as bad as it had been though.

I've woke up this morning and my back feels much better, some pin but not unbearable. But I now have another pain... in my lower right abdomen. But when I laid on my back and felt around the area, it didn't feel any worse as I poked it.

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my PCOS? I was diagnosed a few years ago. I usually have 2 or 3 periods a year. I had one in December, but have had spotting for the last 2/3 weeks on and off. Some this morning too...

Any ideas what it could be? I'll be going to the doctors in my morning, but I'm sitting here, home alone thinking too much and worrying myself silly.

  • creative christmas gift idea?

I've got an idea for a gift for my mum, but wondered what you all thought and what I could do to make it better.

My Mum is very creative... in her head... she lacks the motivation to actually start a crafting project and next year we are joining together (along with my Nan) to make some bits all year round and do one big craft fair at the end of the year.

For her Christmas gift I was thinking of doing a box full of "Creative Inspiration"

In the box I want to put in loads of little notes with creative ideas and words of inspiration. So when she is feeling like she's lacking the motivation to start something, or needs some inspiration she can just pick out a note to help her along :)

What do you think? Do you have any suggestions for this? Thanks

  • Sharp pain under skin feels like needles?

On my back I have real bad pain in a large area. It feel like one tiny spot like a needle prick, but my Husband has looked and my skin isn't even red! Everytime he touched it I said "right there" but he said it's a large area. He then touched it and asked where it hurt and drew a dot. He went all round until a full area was determined (I ended up with tears streaming down my face it was that painful). There's noting there, but it feels like something is under my skin. It hurts the area moving my right arm (It's slightly to the right on my back). I can't sleep on my back and anything even lighhtly touching it is painful. What can this be?! It feels like it's on fire now from where it's been poked and prodded :( please help!

  • Theists - Have you seen this video and what do you make of it?

Have you seen this documentary "Zeitgeist". If not, here is a clip showing where the story of Jesus and other Gods come from.

  • My Cat Has Fleas. Will This Neem Soap Be OK?

I have tried everything to get rid of the little buggers! I put a spot on treatment on him almost a week ago, but it hasn't worked! I washed im in 5 parts water to 1 part Skin So Soft Dry Oil Spray from Avon. Hoping this would make them all jump off and I could hoover them up. I've used a shake n vac flea powder yesterday, hoovered again today (put salt down first and left for 2 hours).

I was told yesterday to get some "Neem Oil" as this will kill them and is harmless to your pet. The only place I can find it is online, but I don't wanna have to wait a week to get it. I found this soap at Tesco which I can get this evening. But i've looked at the ingredients and it says it has Tea Tree Oil in it too... I know this is toxic to cats, but I've googled and now have mixed thoughts. Some people actually suggest using tea tree oil! I wouldn't use it neat, but some people say it's fine when it's just an added ingredient in soap... what do I do? Here's a link to the soap with it's ingredients. Would it be OK to use? and if there's anything else that could be potentially harmful in this soap, please let me know.

  • My cat constantly meows at the front door?

My 7 month old kitten (he's been neutered) has been constantly meowing at the front door for weeks. We live in a flat, and he likes running up and down the stairs whenever he manages to escape. He sits on the windowsill watching out the window most days.

I know he is naturally an outdoor cat, but I live in a city so it's just unsafe for him to be let out.

I've just taken him out on the lead for half hour for the first time, but since getting back in he keeps meowing again to go out. What can I do? I don't want him to be unhappy

  • What is this British film?!?

It's a film made within the last 5 years, set in the UK. An infection that spreads, they manage to contain it to a certain area of the UK. People that are or could be infected are contained here. Gangs and wars start within this area while the government are getting ready to nuke the lot of 'em. There's fight to the death matches and a lot of violence within this area, because there are no longer any laws here.

Does this ring a bell to anyone? It's been killing me for weeks! lol

  • how to get nail polish off my cats nose?

I was painting some nails when my 7 month old kitten decided to run over and play with the open bottle of nail polish He managed to get it on the fur between his toes and on his nose. My Husband and I immediately washed his paw and face with warm water. Failing to get it all off and not wanting to use nail polish remover (especially on his face), I cut the fur between his toes... but what do I do about this big brown splodge of nail polish on his nose now? We'd washed off all we could so I figured we'd just leave it to rub off naturally... but it's still worrying me that it could be toxic to him... any suggestions?

  • nicknames for a horror story?

I'm writing a horror story. I have 3 girls, all in their 20's and they're killers. We wont ever know their real names in the book but I want to come up with nicknames for them to refer to. Nothing too obvious like "hatchet" or "Choker", but something that more suits their personalities than the way they kill...

Girl No.1 - the oldest of the three, she's a loner. Rarely talks but is the most vicious of them. She's very slim and athletic, long natural blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Dresses a bit old for her age of 28. She takes great pride in her appearance.

Girl No.2 - Aged 25, she's a major flirt. Dresses quite slutty, always in her heels and will never leave the house without a face full of make up. She has olive skin, jet black hair and dark brown eyes. Can come across as ditzy, but she is very intelligent. She uses her looks to get what she wants

Girl No.3 - Aged 22, is short, has mid brown coloured hair cut sort slightly covering her eyes. She dresses like a tomboy, baggy jeans and lives in her red hooded jumper and red converse. Doesn't wear much make up, just a bit of eyeliner and mascara. She rarely smiles (only really when she's making someone suffer). Is a retro gamer, loves her NES and Gameboy

Any ideas for nicknames from these short descriptions would be great :)

  • are all atheists trolls?

as an atheist in the R&S section... I have from time to time "trolled". Mainly because I know that it's pointless typing out some long explanation for it to be thrown to one side... so I can be blunt and a little sarcastic at times as a quicker way of getting my point across.

Theists seem to think we atheists are only here to "troll". why is this? and are YOU an atheist troll?
