6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 years agoCan a god logically *know* that he/she/it exists?
If so how? Would a deity be subject to the same questions of hard solipsism that we are and if not why not?
By what mechanism can a deity determine that it is not a brain in a jar or a figment of someone else's imagination?
Even if it could, how could it determine the reality of everything that is not itself?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoTime Dilation and relative velocity, 2 girls, 3 atomic clocks?
Right, Time dilation due to velocity has been experimentally demonstrated when a airline took an atomic clock up traveled at speed and then came back down again comparing the atomic clock with one on the ground it was measurably behind the control clock.
So... Girl 1 takes her atomic clock on one plane and girl 2 takes hers on another and the control clock stays on the ground. The two planes travel away from each other at the same velocity so to the control clock both plane-bound clocks should fall behind by the same amount but to girl 1 who accepts her position as reference zero girl 2 is traveling at a greater velocity and to girl 2 who accepts her position as reference zero girl 1 is traveling at a greater velocity. Both girls should expect that when they meet to compare clocks that the other girls is behind by an amount.
when they do meet how can they both see the others clock as being behind and will a ground observer see both as being equally behind the control.
Informed answers only please I will call you an idiot if you fail to understand the question.
3 AnswersPhysics7 years agoHow can God be both consistent and omnipotent?
I have been told by Christians as an answer to various questions that God is consistent and unchanging. However, in doctrine it is supposed that God is omnipotent. How can God be both? Logically God's potency would be limited or constrained by God's consistency.
Eg, If I can sin but God cannot due to his consistent nature, then my potency in this field is greater than God's which negates his omnipotence.

I mean come on, Everyone knows that Superman is real, his work can been seen everywhere. Did you die yesterday? No? Yeah that was Superman.
Are they just angry with them because he didn't save their childhood pet or something?

1 AnswerPhysics10 years agoHow old is Satan and his kingdom?
The question is of Hell, when it was created by God and what happened to early biblical figures after death.
it is said that Satan/The Devil was a Cherubim/Angel that challenged God, he lost the war and was cast out to live in Hell. That being the case, when did the War in Heaven take place? the War in revelations is yet to happen so it can't be that war - if it is that war then Satan doesn't exist yet, only in prophecy yet he supposedly tormented Jesus in the Garden. If it was a prior war in Heaven, it is often said that the motivation for the war was/is that that Angel that became Satan (I shan't say Lucifer because as far as I can tell that's someone else) was Jealous of mankind's ability to exercise free will and that God had created Angels only to serve.
This would mean that there we Humans that had lived and died before the existence of Satan, which creates some interesting questions:-
Did Hell exist before Satan or was it created to be his domain simultaneously with the Angel's downfall?
If there was no Hell before Satan, Where did the obviously sinful souls of Adam, Eve and Cain (to name but a few sinners) go if there was no Hell to go to?
Please help.

4 AnswersPhysics1 decade agoHow plausible would it be to relay power by LASER over Fibre-optics?
It has recently been demonstrated that focusing a near infrared LASER on a specially tuned photo-voltaic cell can relay power at approximately fifty percent efficiency. I wonder how plausible it would be to relay power in this fashion but using fibre-optic cables to carry the LASER energy over greater and non line-of-sight distances. an application of which would be power cables that don't rust, that don't cause electrocution and are safe in wet environments.
