  • How do you change your LLC to a 501c3?

I recently started a dog rescue and in order to open a business account, it had to be either a corporation or an LLC. We went with LLC with the understanding that we could file for our tax-exempt status within the first year and all would go smoothly in the transition. Well, all of this is turning out to be very confusing. We are meeting with an adviser on Friday but I was hoping to have a few of my questions answered before then. Thanks for your kind answers, in advance! :)

  • What is the tiny red worm thing that is inside our dead fiddler crab?

We just found one of our fiddler crabs dead. It was in the process of molting but died. When we took the shell off the bottom because it was coming off, there was a little tiny red worm moving around. Did that kill our crab and what is it? I will pick a best answer!

  • Should a bathroom floor be caulked around the edges to create a waterproof barrier?

We are doing a self remodel of our house. We put new linoleum down in the bathroom and new trim. My husband thinks that caulking the top of the trim to the wall is all it needs and I say it needs to be caulked around the bottom. That way no moisture from the bathroom can get underneath the tiny crack and cause damage to the wall underneath. Can someone please back me up on this? It has caused quite a shouting match this morning and it would be great to have him see someone else's opinion. Our house is in a flood zone too, by the way, the reason for our remodel is a flood. It is going to be caulked no matter what, but I would really like to tell him I am right.

  • What color should I paint the trim in my house?

I have a deep brown on the walls in the living room, and a lighter tan in the adjacent dining room. I have an open type staircase that has always been painted white and I was wondering if it would look better painted the darker brown I have in the living room. My floors are a light colored wood if that helps.

  • What would be a good name for my dog rescue? 10 pts for best answer?

I am considering opening up a dog rescue/adoption center. I have the building for it and the network. I already work closely with another dog rescue in my area and also the humane society and dog shelter. My question is, what should I call it? I am going to concentrate on the smaller breed of dogs. I don't really have the yard space to adequately exercise larger dogs. So, who has some ideas? I will pick a best answer!

  • I need advice on raising puppies from 6 weeks on.?

They are going to be weaned tomorrow. They are eating solid food. I would just like to hear people's ideas on raising pups. Preferably from a breeder who knows what they are talking about. I am NOT a BYB. I am a foster parent for a no-kill rescue. These mother dogs came to us pregnant. I have been handling the pups each day and they are very confident and playful. I just know that right now are very formative days for young pups and I don't want to mess them up somehow. I have lots of experience with dogs but it has been about 11 years since I have had a puppy and things have definitely changed. I plan on having the puppies in a smallish room with their bed in one corner and pee pads in the other corner. The room is about 12x12 so is that big enough, or too big? Any and all input is appreciated and I always pick a best answer!!

  • Any good ideas for weaning pups?

I am a foster parent for a no-kill rescue here in my area and recently we have been inundated with stray mommas that were pregnant when we got them. This weekend I will be getting 2 of the litters so they can be weaned and the mothers can be spayed. I would just like any and all hints or tips that anyone has for raising puppies. They are all already eating puppy food mash every day. I just need to know how to set up the puppy room, how do I deal with their pottying, etc... The puppies are 6 weeks old and are getting their first shots tomorrow. I realize they need to stay with their littermates for at least 8 weeks. They will probably be together until they are big enough to spay/neuter so that isn't an issue for all the meanies out there! LOL Thanks in advance for your helpful answers!

  • What is the controversy on dog vaccinations?

I have heard argument lately that some dog vaccines are more harmful to dogs than good. Before you jump all over me, all of my dogs have all of their shots, I was just curious about this.

  • Can a felon ever have a career in law enforcement?

I was just curious. If someone was convicted of cultivating marijuana several years ago, could they ever become an officer or even a parking patrol? I think I have a knack for enforcing rules ever since I became a property manager and I think it would be exciting.

  • What is a good thing to get for my bulldogs to chew on?

I have 2 large English bulldog mixes and I need to find something for them to gnaw on. Pig ears go down like potato chips, rawhide slows them down a little, but they end up swallowing big pieces and I know that isn't good for them. My chihuahua will sit for long periods of time just gnawing on a rawhide and he seems so content. They sit there looking at him longingly, like they want to take his little rawhide, but something that will probably last him the rest of his life, would take them one bite to consume. I haven't tried something like a Nylabone with them yet, I just don't know if they will know it is something for them to chew on. They have absolutely no interest in toys. Has anyone had this same experience and if so, what did you find to work best?

  • Will my cat become more friendly?

We foster kittens for the humane society and one of our latest failures(what we call it when we adopt a foster) is a soft, brown cat we named Snooki. She is not very cuddly at all. In fact I have only touched her a few times. That is the reason we adopted her, she wouldn't have shown well at the shelter and they might have euthanized her. So, now she has a forever home, I am just wondering if she is ever going to be more friendly. Some people tell me to force love her. Like get her and hold her and pet her until she realizes she is our pet. I feel like I should just leave her alone and when she is ready, she will come to us. It kind of seems like she is getting more elusive though.

It really doesn't matter to me if she doesn't want contact, she can just hang out with the other cats in our house, but I don't want to be neglecting her either. I am really a dog person so I would like some of the cat people's opinions. Thanks!

  • How do you determine a scammer's affiliate ID on Craigslist?

I am really frustrated because I just spent all this time e-mailing resumes because I really need a job and every last one of them was from the same scammer. Craigslist states:

"FUN FACT: If you are able to determine a scammer's "affiliate ID" and report it to their affiliate marketing program, this will often result in termination of the scammer, and confiscation of the scammer's ill-gotten gains by the affiliate program."

So does anyone know how you find that ID?

  • Will my cat ever adjust to being indoors?

My cat has had the freedom to come and go as he pleases ever since he was about 6 months old. Recently his dad was hit and killed by a car and I decided to keep him indoors instead of risking him getting hit as well. He has been walking around yowling at the windows and would love to leave. My question is, how long will it take before he gives up? He is 2 1/2 yrs old neutered. I have 2 other cats who are doing fine but they weren't outside as long.

  • What does my former boss care if I get my unemployment or not?

I worked as an office manager for almost 4 years for a small company. I was never late, never missed a day, and got along with my co-workers. My boss was a woman who admittedly was no good at being a boss but I did my best to appease her each and every day. I had to do things that I consider unethical and I think some things might have been illegal. But, I did my job. There were times that I would question her about something and it almost always ended in her screaming at me to get back to work. Finally, she fired me one day because she says I refused to work until a mirror was put up after she re-arranged MY work area to the way she knew I would hate it. I never refused. She sent me home. Later, my supervisor stopped by my house to give me my final check and box of stuff. So, I filed for unemployment, it was allowed and she is fighting it tooth and nail. So, can someone tell me that if I keep appealing, the truth will prevail? I am quite discouraged right now.

  • Why do people answer the questions with articles they cut and paste?

I have seen the exact same answer from this person in the dog section twice tonight. It kind of ticks me off because I put a lot of thought into my answers and then some person comes on and takes up all this room with some article and then they take credit for it? IDK why?

  • Will my fiddler crab's claw arm grow back?

One of our fiddler crabs had his big claw arm amputated in a tragic tank cleaning accident and now it looks like it is maybe growing back. Is that even possible? It has been several months and there is just a little bit of a bud I see, but my husband seems doubtful. Anyone have any experience with this?

  • Is it legal to put a postcard in someone's mailbox/slot?

I made up some little postcards for a dogwalking business I am doing and I was wondering if it is legal to put my postcards in people's mailbox or slot or does it have to go through the actual US postal service?

  • My miniature pinscher pounces around on nothing....?

Leroy is a 3 year old MinPin and he is slightly neurotic. He does this thing where he runs around sniffing the ground and then pouncing, like he is attacking something. It doesn't matter where we are, inside, outside, wherever. Here is a video I took of him a while back. He does it every day though. My question is, has anyone ever seen a dog do this?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-nUJHuzFcY&feature...

He chases the laser light too. That's so funny too but now that I have two bulldogs, he can't play with it. It makes the bulldogs want to attack him kind of so obviously he is being unstable in the dog world?

  • Our African Cichlid is swimming around belly up...?

We have 2 of them. One is bigger and seems like he always was tormenting the other one. Now the smaller one was just swimming around upside down. I took him out of the tank and put in a quarantine tank but I think he is actually dead now. Do you think the other one tormented him to death? He looked healthy up until today. Now his scales that are usually orange are kind of pale. His fins are scraggly. None of the other fish in the tank are sick at all. We have danios and some 2 spot something or others. It is my husband's hobby, I just know all the ones besides the cichlid are shiny. Can we get another cichlid or is this one just going to torture it to death again? It seems to stay busy moving rocks as long as we keep knocking down his piles. Is this typical?
