The Motor belt on my treadmill keeps slipping off. Any tips?
My treadmill hadn't been used in a while. I recently turned it on, it ran fine for about 30 seconds, and then the belt stopped moving, but the motor kept going. I hadn't stepped on the main belt yet at this point.
So I took the hood off and saw that the small belt connecting the motor to the normal belt had slipped off. I tried putting it back on and starting it back up, but each time I start it, it runs for a few seconds, and the motor drive moves to the side and slips off again. What do I need to do to correct this?
3 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoHow can I find out if I can claim the Hope Tax Credit?
I'll make this as brief as possible. In 1998 I attended college for freshman year (fall 98 and spring 99 semesters). At this time I was being claimed as a dependent on my mother's taxes.
She tells me she knows she claimed the HOPE credit at least once. However, she doesn't know if she paid for the Spring 99 semester in the 1998 tax year, or in early 1999, so she doesn't know if she claimed it once or twice for me.
I am now back in school, in my 2nd year, paying my own way, and wondering if I can claim it for myself for this year. Is there any way to find out how many times it was claimed for my education so far?
2 AnswersUnited States1 decade agohelp with insulating an interior attic wall?
I own a ranch. The top floor is about 1/3 a finished room, with the other 2/3 being an attic. The wall between the room and the attic is apparently not insulated very well, and the small baseboard heater for the finished room is against the attic wall, so all the heat just goes right out, and the room is very cold in the winter.
I'm looking to insulate the attic side of this wall. It doesn't have to look especially pretty since it's on the attic side. I'm just wondering which insulation for this type of job is a) best, b) most value for the buck, and c) not impossible to install for the average person. Blown-in is not an option since it's basically plywood between the rooms and nothing to hold it in.
Thanks!

2 AnswersBiology1 decade agoHow long until my (9 month old) lab settles down a bit?
I have a chocolate lab puppy, about 75 pounds, who is a bit of a hand full sometimes. A lot of it is probably normal puppy stuff, but she's very active, as most labs are. Lately she seems to be slowing down a tiny bit, but I'm curious how long this super-active phase in labs will last, where she needs constant entertainment.
Right now she's walked twice a day, totalling a bit over 2 miles/40-45 minutes. She also gets plenty of time outside in the yard and play time. It just seems like at 11 or so at night, when we're ready to go to bed, she's still in no mood to stop running around.
11 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhy is everyone so willing to tell people they're psychic?
I notice every single time someone asks a question on here like "Am I psychic?" which is then followed by some completely normal happening ("I thought the Yankees would win and then they did. Do I have paranormal powers?"), there's always 50 answers going "Of course, you should take a class to learn how to harness it!"
Is everyone really that credulous?
15 AnswersParanormal Phenomena1 decade agoShould the Pope apologize to molestation victims?
One side of the argument: Under the Church's eye, thousands of child molesters were moved and hidden from the law so they could go on doing what they were doing.
Other side: The Pope is infallible. Therefore, he's not wrong.
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy is James Van Praagh mad at Barbara Walters?
He made a public prediction about her health, which was demonstrably wrong. He is not a qualified professional who should be diagnosing any medical disorders, but did so on her show. Any self respecting journalist would feel compelled to report that what was said on their show was incorrect, yet James Van Praagh is calling foul, saying he was backstabbed, and that she belittles those he's "saved". Why can't he take objective criticism like a big boy?
2 AnswersMedia & Journalism1 decade agoJehovah's Witnesses only please: CT Russell's formula?
I know Charles Taze Russeell first predicted the end of the world based on measuring something in pyramids, and then saying the number of inches corresponds to the number of years from the start of earth until the last days. I'm just not sure how he decided which year to start with, does anyone know?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs there a homeopathic cure for thirst?
Lately I'm thirsty all the time. Someone recommended I take a homeopathic cure. After reading up on it, I understand I'm supposed to take an ingredient that would cause the opposite effect normally. I guess salt would make me thirsty. Will this really work if I dilute a pinch of salt with a bathtub full of water? I'm willing to try anything.
