I am a cop's wife and mother of three. I am a True Roman Catholic who goes to the Latin Mass and rejects the changes made by the second Vatican Council. I also believe the Holy See has been vacant since the death of Pius XII. I love my Catholic faith and very devoted to Our Lady of Fatima as I am Portuguese and my great grandmother witnessed the miracle of the sun.

  • Will you pray for the Palestinians?

I am asking if any of you Catholics who claim to be good Catholics are offering prayers and sacrifices for the poor souls suffering in Gaza as the militant state of Israel launched a full scale attack and invasion with the intent to have complete control of Gaza by morning. They have killed nearly 500 Palestinians in the past week. Will you pray for an end to their suffering?

  • is anyone else disturbed by this?

I knew the Novus ordo was crazy and heretical, but this one just really takes the cake. Anyone else here really really disturbed by this?

New chocolate communion wafers, subsidized by Hershey's

Catholic Church Switches To Flavored Communion

BOSTON (CAP) - Officials for the Catholic Archdiocese of Boston have

announced plans to switch a number of area parishes from the

centuries-old bland wheat flour-based communion wafers to a more

contemporary wafer containing polyunsaturated fats and one of a

    handful of flavoring agents.

"Don't let it be said that the Catholic Church isn't a

forward-thinking ecclesiastical entity," said Archbishop Sean Patrick

    O'Malley. "Whether we're the first internationally-renowned religion

to openly cover-up clergy sex abuse scandals or the first to make Mass

taste better, we always have our congregations' best interests in mind."

According to O'Malley, the first batch of new wafers will be made

available in three flavors: chocolate, cinnamon, and Ritz. The plan is

to taste test the varieties at some of the more tolerable parishes in

the region, like throughout South Boston, and then expand the more

    successful kinds into other dioceses.

"Wow, Jesus never tasted so good," said 47-year-old Darren St. Clair,

one of a dozen to participate in a focus group that helped to select

the initial flavor offerings. "The only problem I see is that this

good extend Mass when everybody starts going back for a second helping

    of the Lord."

The new wafer is the first part of a multi-year branding effort by the

Catholic Church to try to inject some life into what many consider to

be a stale, outdated religion. The endeavor, dubbed

transsubflavorization by the United States Catholic Conference of

Bishops, aims to double the membership in two-thirds of congregations

within three years, and put the Church back on the path to profitability.

"We have been hurting in that coveted 24-39 demographic for a long

time," said New York Archbishop Edward Michael Egan. "Our goal is to

take that holier-than-thou Christmas crowd and get them to show up in

the dead of summer when we've got no particular focus and nothing new

    to say.

"We think programs like Sin-Free Sundays, Double Points Redemption

Confessional, and the new Wii Mass will return Catholicism to the

glory days of the Crusades," added Egan.

  • Why choose to vote for president based on two candidates?

You have 6 candidates running for president. Why are you deciding between 2 out 6 of them? What makes Obama more qualified than Cynthia McKinney? Why is the media promoting a black man over a black woman?

try to consider the third party candidates as well. Some are far better suited for the job than either Obama or McCain. If Ron Paul was still running I would send you to his campaign website.

  • would you still vote for Obama if you knew he wasn't a natural born citizen?

I read a few articles about Obama recently. There is no hospital records of his birth In hawaii. Only in Kenya. his own grandmother admits that she was present at his birth in Kenya. When an attorney tried to sue for breach of constitution, the Supreme court of that state decided that a citizen doesn't have the right to sue for breach of constitution. What is going on here?!?! I have the feeling that this country might vote a foreigner into office, and those who try to do something to stop it get shushed. Be careful all you Obama fans, and make sure he is a natural born citizen before you vote for him.

As I have to drive 90 minutes just to get to church I don't want to be spending all of my time in the parking lot and missing the Mass, just to keep her from bothering everyone else. • Who is your favorite Saint that was married in their lifetime?

Mine is St. Rita of Cascia. She was married only to appease her parents. Her husband was a bad man but through her purity and goodness he converted 10 years later. They were finally blessed with two boys after his conversion. He still have many enemies however, and they assassinated him one day. St. Rita's sons wanted to get vengeance against their father's killers. St. Rita prayed to God to either change their hearts or take their lives. Both boys died of an illness soon after. then St. Rita after mourning the loss of her entire family pursued her dream of joining the Augustinian order. The nuns had never permitted a widow to join them and weren't about to start. Then St. Rita was miraculously transported into the convent before the sisters awoke. They were puzzled as the gates were chained and locked. So St. Rita became an Augustinian nun. She was so pure and humble that she felt unworthy to suffer as our Lord did. She asked that she might be granted one prick from the crown of thorns and it was granted her. She suffered horribly from that one prick in her forehead for years. The wound constantly smelled and the other sisters could not tolerate being around her for long. She still would not allow herself any comfort. At times the wound would be full of maggots, and whenever one fell out, St. Rita would put it back in. After her death, her body and her room smelled the sweet fragrance of roses. It still does to this day.

  • The Lord of the Rings and Catholic morality?

Did anyone else catch the distictive Catholic morals and virtues displayed throughout the Lord of the Rings trilogy? J. R. Tolkien was a devout Roman Catholic who almost converted C.S. Lewis before his death. I have read articles written by priests comparing the Lord of the Rings to good Catholic virtues and morals, and I myself have seen a lot of similarities with Catholic prophecy in the stories. I was wondering if anyone else has an opinion on this?

  • General George Washington's prophecy of the future of America?

I have read this prophecy a few times and was wondering if anyone else has. I am hoping to hear some serious comments and opinions. Thanks.

GENERAL GEORGE WASHINGTON'S ANGELIC VISITATION AT VALLEY FORGE

AND THE VISION OF THE FUTURE OF THE UNITED STATES

This article is a reprint of a newspaper article first published in the NATIONAL TRIBUNE in 1859 and reprinted in 1880 (vol. 4, no. 12, Dec. 1880). Later reprinted in THE STARS AND STRIPES newspaper owned by the NATIONAL TRIBUNE, in 1931 and the latest printing on December 21, 1950. This article is printed in its entirety by permission of the NATIONAL TRIBUNE. The vision was related to a reporter named Wesley Bradshaw by an officer who served under General Washington at Valley Forge, named Anthony Sherman. In the vision, Washington sees three great trials to overtake the Union. These were the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and the greatest threat, a war fought on the soil of the United States near the time of Jesus' return to reign on the earth. It is this third battle, that hold's our interest as the day draws near.

Washington Had Vision of Trials Facing Nation

For many years copies of Washington's vision at Valley Forge as related by one Wesley Bradshaw, told to him by Anthony Sherman, have been in existence. The earliest publication was in 1859, 1880, in 1931 and is being printed once more. THE STARS AND STRIPES, December 21, 1950.

The last time I ever saw Anthony Sherman was on the Fourth of July, 1859, in Independence Square. He was then ninety-nine years old, and becoming very feeble. But though so old, his dimming eyes rekindled as he gazed upon Independence Hall, which he came to visit once more. "Let us go into the hall," he said. "I want to tell you of an incident of Washington's life -- one which no one alive knows of except myself; and if you live, you will before long see it verified.

"From the opening of the Revolution we experienced all phases of fortune, now good and now ill, one time victorious and another conquered. The darkest period we had, I think, was when Washington, after several reverses, retreated to Valley Forge, where he resolved to spend the winter of 1777. Ah! I have often seen the tears coursing down our dear commander's care-worn cheeks, as he would be conversing with a confidential officer about the condition of his poor soldiers. You have doubtless heard the story of Washington's going into the thicket to pray. Well, it was not only true, but he used often to pray in secret for aid and comfort from God, the interposition of whose Divine Providence brought us safely through the darkest days of tribulation.

"One day, I remember it well, the chilly winds whistled through the leafless trees, though the sky was cloudless and the sun shone brightly, he remained in his quarters nearly all the afternoon alone. When he came out, I noticed that his face was a shade paler than usual, and there seemed to be something on his mind of more than ordinary importance. Returning just after dusk, he dispatched an orderly to the quarters of the officer I mention, who was presently in attendance. After a preliminary conversation of about half an hour, Washington, gazing upon his companion with that strange look of dignity which he alone could command, said to the latter:

    The Vision

"I do not know whether it is owing to the anxiety of my mind, or what, but this afternoon, as I was sitting at this table engaged in preparing a dispatch, something seemed to disturb me. Looking up, I beheld standing opposite me a singularly beautiful female. So astonished was I, for I had given strict orders not to be disturbed, that it was some moments before I found language to inquire into the cause of her presence. A second, a third, and even a fourth time did I repeat my question, but received no answer from my mysterious visitor except a slight raising of her eyes. By this time I felt strange sentiments spreading through me. I would have risen, but the riveted gaze of the being before me rendered volition impossible. I assayed once more to address her, but my tongue had become useless, even thought itself had become paralyzed. A new influence, mysterious, potent, irresistible, took possession of me. All I could do was to gaze steadily, vacantly at my unknown visitor. Gradually, the surrounding atmosphere seemed as though becoming filled with sensations and luminous. Everything about me seemed to rarify, the mysterious visitor herself becoming more airy, and yet more distinct to my sight than before. I now began to feel as one dying, or rather to experience the sensations which I have sometimes imagined accompany dissolution. I did not think, I did not reason, I did not move; all were alike impossible. I was only conscious of gazing fixedly, vacantly at my companion.

"Presently I heard a voice saying, 'Son of the Republic, look and learn,' while at the same time my visitor extended her arm eastwardly. I now beheld a heavy white

I was listening to the news last night and heard a number of things that REALLY SCARED THE LIVING LIGHTS OUT OF ME! I couldn't believe what I was hearing and I am only now in great fear as to what our government is planning to do with Russia.

Condie Rice stated that Russia seems to be unhappy with the outcome of the Cold War and is planning to start a new era. She also said that Russia is wrong if they think they can attack another country and attempt to overthrow them, and get away with it.

John McCain said in reference to Russia that Iraq saw what happened to them.

Other news topics talked about how Hitler got away with a lot before anyone stood up to him and we can't let that happen again.

And now I hear that the US is sending supplies AND SOLDIERS into Georgia! Anyone else panicking here?!?!

  • About the prophecy of Our Lady of Akita?

I would like to hear feedback from CATHOLICS. What do you think of this prophecy? Do you think it will come to pass? Do you think we will see it in our lifetime?

    A TERRIBLE WARNING

    THE MESSAGE OF

    OUR LADY OF AKITA

    (1973 - 1981)

Apparitions Approved – An Urgent Message

In 1984, just before retiring at a venerable age, the diocesan Bishop of Niigata, Bishop John Shojiro Ito, in consultation with the Holy See, wrote a pastoral letter in which he recognized as being authentically of the Mother of God, the extraordinary series of events that had taken place from 1973 to 1981 in a little lay convent within his diocese, at Akita, Japan. Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, in June 1988, approved the Akita events as "reliable and worthy of belief". In fact the Philippine ambassador to the Vatican, in 1998 spoke to Cardinal Ratzinger about Akita and the Cardinal: "personally confirmed to me that these two messages of Fatima and Akita are essentially the same". Hence in Akita we are dealing with a Church approved intervention of the Blessed Virgin Mary as sure in this respect as Lourdes, La Salette, or Fatima.

Only a few Catholics know of Our Lady of Akita but the message, like that of Fatima, is a specific warning of worldwide chastisement. The chastisement threatened is truly terrible – far worse than the possibility of annihilation of several nations prophesied at Fatima. Akita is absolutely consistent with prophecies of Scripture.

The first message received by Sister Agnes Katsuko Sasagawa on June 6, 1973, was a call for prayer and sacrifice for the glory of the Father and salvation of souls. The second message, August 3, 1973, was for prayer, penance and courageous sacrifices to soften the Father's anger.

The third message on October 13, 1973, the actual anniversary of the final visions and miracle of Fatima is as follows: "As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by my Son. Each day, recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and the priests. The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, and bishops against other bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their Confreres. The Church and altars will be vandalized. The Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.

"The demon will rage especially against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will no longer be pardon for them."

In his pastoral letter approving the events of Akita as supernatural, the Bishop of Niigata said: "After the inquiries conducted up to the present day, one cannot deny the supernatural character of a series of unexplainable events relative to the statue of the Virgin honored at Akita (Diocese of Niigata). Consequently I authorize that all of the diocese entrusted to me venerate the Holy Mother of Akita."

Concerning the messages, His Excellency said: "As for the content of the messages received, it is no way contrary to Catholic doctrine or to good morals. When one thinks of the actual state of the world, the warning seems to correspond to it in many points." His Excellency explained that he had taken eight years to give this judgment because of the importance and the responsibility in question. "The Congregation of the Doctrine for the Faith has given me directives in this sense," the Bishop said, "that only the bishop of the diocese in question has the power to recognize an event of this kind."

The events of Akita have been confirmed by definite miracles, two of which are cited by the Bishop in his pastoral letter. While the warning given by Our Lady at Akita is terrible, the message, as the Bishop points out, is basically a repetition of the Message of Fatima. Our Lady stressed the importance of praying the Rosary, and above all of accepting from God whatever He may send in the course of each day . . . whatever suffering . . . and to offer it up in reparation for so many sins committed throughout the world at this time. Our Lady begged especially for prayers for bishops, priests, and religious, and for reparation before the Blessed Sacrament. Our Lady said: "I have prevented the coming of calamities by offering to the Father, together with all the victim souls who console Him, the sufferings endured by the Son on the Cross, by His blood and by His very loving Soul. Prayer, penance, and courageous sacrifices can appease the anger of the Father."

  • Did anyone see something unsettling in the sky the eve of 9/11?

I just want to know if anyone else saw what I saw that night. My husband (then fiancé) and I were standing out on his stepfather's porch that night and looked up at the sky. It was soo disturbing looking, like something out of a Ghost Busters movie, We both got a very bad feeling and actually said we wouldn't be surprised if we woke up the next day to learn that something horrible had happened. We lived in Boston at the time (where most of the alleged hijackers flew out from).

Anyone else have a strange experience like this?

  • what do you think about the Cincinnati Archdiocese's new list of inappropriate behavior for priests?

Here is the article I read. To me it seems like they are assuming their priests are all pedophiles and they need to keep them under control with a set of restrictions. Why not just weed out the bad men and then they have nothing to worry about? What do you think?

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has issued a detailed list of inappropriate behaviors for priests, saying they should not kiss, tickle or wrestle children.

The newest version of the archdiocese's Decree on Child Protection also prohibits bear hugs, lap-sitting and piggyback rides.

But it says priests may still shake children's hands, pat them on the back and give high-fives.

Victim advocates who have criticized the Roman Catholic archdiocese for its handling of abuse cases say they support the new measures as a step toward better protection of children.

The Cincinnati archdiocese says it updates the rules every five years. The latest version, issued last week, also mandates background checks for contractors working with children.

  • For Catholics, the prophecy of Our Lady of Good Success

I am looking for your thoughts on this prophecy which is valid and approved by the church.

Our Lady prophesied that at the end of the 19th Century and especially in the 20th Century that Satan would reign almost completely by the means of the Masonic sect. The Queen of Heaven told Mother Mariana that this battle would reach its most acute stage because of various unfaithful religious, who, "under the appearance of virtue and bad-spirited zeal, would turn upon Religion, who nourished them at her breast." "During this time," she continued, "insomuch as this poor country will lack the Christian spirit, the Sacrament of Extreme Unction will be little esteemed. Many people will die without receiving it – either because of the negligence of their families or their false sentimentality that tries to protect the sick from seeing the gravity of their situations, or because they will rebel against the spirit of the Catholic Church, impelled by the malice of the devil. Thus many souls will be deprived of innumerable graces, consolations and the strength they need to make that great leap from time to eternity..." "As for the Sacrament of Matrimony, which symbolizes the union of Christ with His Church, it will be attacked and profaned in the fullest sense of the word. Masonry, which will then be in power, will enact iniquitous laws with the objective of doing away with this Sacrament, making it easy for everyone to live in sin, encouraging the procreation of illegitimate children born without the blessing of the Church. The Christian spirit will rapidly decay, extinguishing the precious light of Faith until if reaches the point that there will be an almost total and general corruption of customs. The effects of secular education will increase, which will be one reason for the lack of priestly and religious vocations..."

"The Sacred Sacrament of Holy Orders will be ridiculed, oppressed and despised. ...The demon will try to persecute the Ministers of the Lord in every possible way and he will labor with cruel and subtle astuteness to deviate them from the spirit of their vocation, corrupting many of them. These corrupted priests, who will scandalize the Christian people, will incite the hatred of the bad Christians and the enemies of the Roman, Catholic and Apostolic Church to fall upon all priests. This apparent triumph of Satan will bring enormous sufferings to the good Pastors of the Church...."

"Moreover, in these unhappy times, there will be unbridled luxury which, acting thus to snare the rest into sin, will conquer innumerable frivolous souls who will be lost. Innocence will almost no longer be found in children, nor modesty in women. In this supreme moment of need of the Church, those who should speak will fall silent."

"But know, beloved daughter, that when your name is made known in the 20th century, there will be many who will not believe, claiming that this devotion is not pleasing to God...A simple humble faith in the truth of My apparitions to you, My predilect child, will be reserved for humble and fervent souls docile to the inspirations of grace, for Our Heavenly Father communicates His secrets to the simple of heart, and not to those whose hearts are inflated with pride, pretending to know what they do not, or self-satisfied with empty knowledge."

During this time, Our Lady foretold, "the secular Clergy will leave much to be desired because priests will become careless in their sacred duties. Lacking the divine compass, they will stray from the road traced by God for the priestly ministry, and they will become attached to wealth and riches, which they will unduly strive to obtain. How the Church will suffer during this dark night! Lacking a Prelate and Father to guide them with paternal love, gentleness, strength, wisdom and prudence, many priests will lose their spirit, placing their souls in great danger. This will mark the arrival of My hour."

"Therefore, clamor insistently without tiring and weep with bitter tears in the privacy of your heart, imploring our Celestial Father that, for love of the Eucharistic Heart of my Most Holy Son and His Precious Blood shed with such generosity and the profound bitterness and sufferings of His cruel Passion and Death, He might take pity on His ministers and bring to an end those Ominous times, sending to this Church the Prelate who will restore the spirit of its priests."

On December 8, 1634, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, three archangels and their Queen appeared to Mother Mariana. St. Gabriel was carrying a Ciborium filled with Hosts which Our Lady explained: "This signifies the Most August Sacrament of the Eucharist, which will be distributed by my Catholic priests to faithful Christians belonging to the Holy Roman, Catholic and Apostolic Church, whose visible head is the Pope, the King of Christianity. His pontifical infallibility will be declared a dogma of the Faith by the same Pope chosen to proclaim the dogma of the Mystery of My Immaculate Conception. He will be persecuted and imprisoned in the Vatican by the unjust usurpation of the Pontifical States through the iniquity, envy and avarice of an earthly monarch." This holy Pope was Blessed Pius IX, who fulfilled every prediction made by Our Lady. His body, being exhumed for beatification in 2000, was found miraculously preserved in the tomb where it had lain for more than a century. His face still showed a striking serenity in death.

Another most interesting prophecy of Our Lady: "In the 19th Century there will be a truly Catholic president, a man of character whom God Our Lord will give the palm of martyrdom on the square adjoining this Convent. He will consecrate the Republic to the Sacred Heart of My Most Holy Son, and this consecration will sustain the Catholic Religion in the years that will follow, which will be ill-fated ones for the Church. These years, during which the evil sect of Masonry will take control of the civil government – will see a cruel persecution of all religious communities, and they will also strike out violently against this one of mine."

The "truly Catholic" president of Ecuador, Gabriel Garcia Moreno (1821-1875), consecrated the republic to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1873. Pope Pius IX paid him tribute as a man who had died "the death of a martyr...a victim to his Faith and Christian charity." Gabriel Moreno's incorrupt heart and the famous painting of Our Lady of Quito can be seen in the Cathedral of Quito.

    Conclusion

We are living in a time of the great crisis of Faith and morals as prophesied by Our Lady. The confusion is of such magnitude that it is not only subverting the temporal sphere, but also penetrates the walls of the Church itself. Indeed, as Our Lady prophesied, the corruption of customs has become general and the precious light of Faith almost extinct. Yet the message of Our Lady of Good Success ends with a note of great hope: When everything will seem lost and paralyzed, that will be "the happy beginning of the complete restoration. This will mark the arrival of my hour, when I, in a marvelous way, will dethrone the proud and cursed Satan, trampling him under my feet and fettering him in the infernal abyss." It is the promise echoed by Our Lady again at Fatima in 1917: "In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph."

  • What are your thoughts on the prophecy of St. Nilus?

Want to know what you think about the accuracy of this prophecy.

St. Nilus must be counted as one of the leading ascetic writers of the fifth century. His feast is kept on November 12th in the Byzantine Calendar; he is commemorated also in the Roman Martyrology on the same date. St. Nilus probably died around the year 430, as there is no evidence of his life after that.

    The Prophecy

After the year 1900, toward the middle of the 20th century, the people of that time will become unrecognizable. When the time for the Advent of the Antichrist approaches, people's minds will grow cloudy from carnal passions, and dishonor and lawlessness will grow stronger. Then the world will become unrecognizable. People's appearances will change, and it will be impossible to distinguish men from women due to their shamelessness in dress and style of hair. These people will be cruel and will be like wild animals because of the temptations of the Antichrist. There will be no respect for parents and elders, love will disappear, and Christian pastors, bishops, and priests will become vain men, completely failing to distinguish the right-hand way from the left. At that time, the morals and traditions of Christians and of the Church will change. People will abandon modesty, and dissipation will reign. Falsehood and greed will attain great proportions, and woe to those who pile up treasures. Lust, adultery, homosexuality, secret deeds and murder will rule in society.

At that future time, due to the power of such great crimes and licentiousness, people will be deprived of the grace of the Holy Spirit, which they received in Holy Baptism and equally of remorse.

The Churches of God will be deprived of God-fearing and pious pastors, and woe to the Christians remaining in the world at that time; they will completely lose their faith because they will lack the opportunity of seeing the light of knowledge from anyone at all. Then they will separate themselves out of the world in holy refuges in search of lightening their spiritual sufferings, but everywhere they will meet obstacles and constraints. And all this will result from the fact that the Antichrist wants to be Lord over everything and become the ruler of the whole universe, and he will produce miracles and fantastic signs. He will also give depraved wisdom to an unhappy man so that he will discover a way by which one man can carry on a conversation with another from one end of the earth to the other. At that time men will also fly through the air like birds and descend to the bottom of the sea like fish. And when they have achieved all this, these unhappy people will spend their lives in comfort without knowing, poor souls, that it is deceit of the Antichrist. And, the impious one! he will so complete science with vanity that it will go off the right path and lead people to lose faith in the existence of God in three hypostases.

Then the All-good God will see the downfall of the human race and will shorten the days for the sake of those few who are being saved, because the enemy wants to lead even the chosen into temptation, if that is possible... then the sword of chastisement will suddenly appear and kill the perverter and his servants.

I would like to give others an opportunity to share anything they have seen in the novus ordo church that made them raise an eyebrow. I will reward the answer with the most outrageous offense.
