How can i learn to forgive someone like this?
I used to be best friends with this girl for 7 years. She would always put me down. She would always say how she is smarter than me, more mature, prettier than, could get more guys than me, etc. Her good points are that she is quite funny, honest, and has stood up for me many times. One of the things she did that I really hate her, I am black, she has called a few other black people the n-word. She taught her 7-year old nephew to call people the n-word. I stopped talking to her 3 months ago. i still remember every thing she has ever told me, I feel tempted to punch her. I somehow feel people can say do and whatever they want to me and get away with it.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoIf you are a very honest person please give some advice on how to create realistic characters?
This is going to sound very weird, but I have a character stuck in my head, but she can't come out.
Here are the only things I have down about her
-She is generally not talkative but she can be brutally honest.
-She is very playful, sometimes too rough or aggressive, get hurts.
-she is more a doer, than a talker. if she threatens you she will do it.
-she is not patience and does not like being bored.
-she has very long eyelashes and plucks them out because they get in her eyes.
-she is high-pitched squeaky squirrel laugh.
4 AnswersBooks & Authors10 years agoHow can an ugly guy attract a very beautiful woman?
I see questions like this on here all the time. It makes me wonder, how come guys are not fine with dating an average looking woman? Also, how come a lot guys expect their girlfriends and wives to be exceptionally good-looking even though they are not handsome themselves? Girls are expected to not be "shallow" and "see personality", sometimes it seems like guys can not do the same.
2 AnswersSingles & Dating10 years agoBeauty is a blessing and a curse, how come folks do not seem to think beauty can be a curse?
When I was a teenager, it irritated me how if I dressed nice I was being conceited. If I complained about having a pimple, I was looking for compliments. If i talked to someone's boyfriend, I was being a man-stealer. Wtf? Why don't people think being beautiful has it's downfalls? I hate how most men assume now I am an adult a gold-digger, I am spoiled, and I do not know any difficulties of real life. Wtf?
6 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups10 years agoHow come pretty girls never date pretty boys?
For example, a very beautiful woman like Marilyn Monroe would never date a pretty boy like James Dean. A pretty boy like Adam Levine would not date a Kim Kardashian.
9 AnswersGender Studies10 years agoWhat is the difference between being confident and arrogant?
Can only "good-looking" people or rich people be arrogant? Why is arrogant for a pretty girl to think she's pretty, but if an ugly says she thinks she is pretty, she is just confident? What is the difference between being arrogant and confident? It seems like if a wealthy person thinks highly of themselves, they are arrogant. If a poor person thinks highly of themselves, it is confidence.
6 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agois my friend a hater? or is this possible?
she says it is impossible for a girl to have big butt and big boobs. they either have one or other other. if a girl has both big butt and big boobs, one of them is fake. according to her, i have none since i am skinny. I do not think she's jealous of me, i just think she's jealous in general.
3 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agowhat is being judgmental? what does it mean to be judgmental?
i do not understand almost everyone has a different definition.
this girl said she was not judgmental called me a ugly and slut behind my back, so much for being "non-judgmental"?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is the difference between being shallow and honest?
My friends say I am shallow. I do not think so. I do not think everyone is beautiful. I do agree personality far more important than anything. I think most people have some good features, but I just do not think everyone is born physically beautiful. I am sick of people blaming the media for beauty ideals. I see beauty this way - I think everyone has some beauty, but everyone is not beautiful. It is the same way with intelligent - everyone has pockets full of intelligent, but not everyone is an Einstein.
2 AnswersPsychology1 decade agowhy do some men act like this? who is wrong in this situation?
plenty of my male friends usually try to talk to really good-looking girls and complain that "hot girls" do not give them a chance and call them shallow. I have a few "hot' girls as a friends, they usually get hit on a lot by many different type of men, they can't give everyone a chance. Anyway, why don't guys pursue okay-looking females?
4 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoIf you are christian, can you help a sister out?
anyway, since I am quiet, shy, insecure and along with that i dress tacky and i guess i have big nose, big stomach, and bow-legged. lol throughout most of my adolescence I have been made fun for this. my tendency has always been to not stand up for myself when people make fun of me and i always take the anger out of on my family. i am not claiming to be saint but i know i never start with others outside my family because i usually try to avoid conflict in school and work. anyway, since i am doormat with people outside of my family, the conflict usually just gets worst and most people do not have respect for me since i do not stand up for myself. Anyway, i eventually i do say something back it is extremely mean - for instance, one girl who used to make fun of me alot in seventh grade, i ended up making fun of the fact her mother died, another guy used to make fun of me, i ended up making fun of the fact he had a heart attack. My family says even though they start it with me, the things i say in return usually far outweigh anything they have ever said to me. what is the right thing to do?

3 AnswersAdolescent1 decade agoIs she being racist or prejudiced?
This girl who supposedly my friend told me this "you're not that ugly for a black girl?" She went on saying she could not date a black person as dark as me because that would be disgusting. There is nothing wrong with preferring light-skinned black people, why the hell did she have to insult me?
4 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoHow much influence does the media have on the average person?
1 AnswerSociology1 decade agoIs this pseudo-scientific crap or is there some truth behind this?
I always believed "beauty is the eyes of the beholder" but I do certainly agree that certain people have more be-holders than others. No matter what way you look at it some people just naturally stand-out more than others. I have came across the idea of symmetry, faces meeting the Golden Ratio, etc in three of my college books - Anthropology, Sociology and my psychology book. I wonder if there any truth in the idea of more symmetrical and proportional faces being widely considered more attractive than others.

7 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoWhy does this stereotype exist? Do any other women relate to this?
I remember in 8th grade being jumped by three overweight girls after school. I never talked to them. I remember one of the girls being in my class, I never spoke with her or knew her. I saw them at schools. I am not sure why they jumped me though. My face was completely scratched up on my 8th grade graduation. I had a best friend in the 9th grade who was overweight also. I remember she told a lot of people I was anorexic, she told my crush I was a lesbian, and when i lost my virginity she told everyone. I am not trying to be arrogant or anything, but why do people stereotype "less attractive" or "overweight" people are always being the victims of bullying and teasing.
3 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoIs my boyfriend too intelligent for me? How can I solve this problem?
I have been dating this guy for 3 months. He likes me because i am silly, cheerful, and usually always happy. He is intelligent, sarcastic and more serious, I liked him for those reasons. His friends make me feel like an idiot, when they talk anything from politics to art to I research online what they are talking about ao I can contribute their next discussion. I love my boyfriend but his friends I am under the impression look down on me, I feel like an alien in the room when they discuss. When i do contribute, everyone ends up laughing, and even when I research talk about the topics the typically talk about it. I never thought of myself as an idiot until now, I attend a university.
5 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoWhat should I do about this silly situation?
i have been dating this guy for 3 months. he likes me because i am silly, cheerful, and usually always happy. he's very nerdy - a thinker. his friends make me feel like an idiot, when they talk about politics or any other issue, i have no idea what they are talking about. usually after their discussions, i research online what they are talking about so i contribute their next discussion. i love my boyfriend but his friends i am under the impression look down on me, i feel like an alien in the room when they discuss. When i do contribute, everyone ends up laughing, and even when i research talk about foreign policy, i am usually quickly corrected.
