I'm hitting the i-395 on memorial day weekend (leaving Friday morning) from Los Angeles up to northern California.

Any recommendation on possible traffic on that particular day ?

Do you recommend to stop somewhere nice ? I was thinking to stop at Mono Lake.

Are there 'dangerous' parts, like short parts with steep drops on the Trans Zion Trail ?

I ask this because my girlfriend gets really scary when we go hiking and it becomes like that.

I'm fine with it, I love hiking and trekking, I've been doing it all my life, she loves it too but gets scared when it gets like this.

If yes, what would you recommend to help her overcome her stress ?

I am planning a trip to Yosemite on January and will probably have to drive our 2013 Mustang in the snow..

Do you know any inexpensive snow chains that I could buy and that work well ?

I guess these will be placed on the rear tires as it a rear wheel drive.

As the back of the car is light, I was also thinking to place 200 of weights (that I usually use to work out) and place them in the trunk to add weight and reduce skidding.

Do you have any ideas on how to place the weights so they don't move inside the trunks while I am driving?

I will be driving up to Yosemite on January 31st in the morning and I wanted to know what time should I get on the 405 direction North (I live in Marina Del Rey) to avoid traffic. I'll be driving on the 405 up to the junction with the I-5.

I'm ready to wake up at 5am, I just don't want to loose hours stuck on the world's busiest highway :)
