  • Christians, will you pray for my friend?

My friend has decided to leave the faith. I'm not trying to "shove religion down her throat"... I'm just seeing if anyone would be interested in joining me in spiritual warfare. This question was deleted before... why? I don't know. Anyway, I'd appreciate it if you prayed for her and atheists... just... be respectful. This is important to me.

  • Is shared dreaming a sin? (preferably mature Christians only)?

Just wondering if it borders on the occult or if it's ok because it's nothing like astral projection. And before you go saying it's a sin or it's perfectly fine, please do some research before answering... I want the most informed, unbiased answer as humanly possible. Thanks :)

  • jeremiah 15:19 (niv) meaning?

what does God mean when he says, "worthy words"? or perhaps a different translation would help i guess... i'm just wondering what makes words worthy to God. is it in the context of prayer or just everyday life? or something else?

  • does it ever occur to atheists...?

that even though Christians dont have all this fancy-schmancy "scientific proof" and "evidence" and such, that doesn't mean some sort of spiritual world doesn't exist? it's like you guys are trying to hammer a nail with a plastic ruler! how in the world can you ask for scientific proof when the definition of science is observations of the PHYSICAL world? oh, but of course, i already know what you'll say:

    1. you're stupid

    2. you're uneducated

    3. of course. as soon as i get my magic fairy wand

    4. burden of proof... blah, blah, blah, rant, rant, rant

    5. you dont know what science is (even though i've just established that science wouldn't help this at all)

for crying out loud, this is out of curiosity. dont get all jerkish about it.

  • is the gap theory possible?

up until now, i've supported a young earth, first of all because i was told that, and second of all because i was given example after example as to why it's true. However, i've come across the gap theory and it's starting to make sense, of course i've compared the two, reread the same Bible passages to see if there is anything that would make the theory false, and now i'm reading from: http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Evolution%20Hoax/ga...

and my head hurts because i'm also taking a look at different Hebrew word meanings. Atheists, you say Christians don't think for themselves.... well if you were right before, now you're dead wrong. So now, i'm wondering if hte gap theory actually is reasonable and i'd like some input. However, I will always remain faithful to both God and his Word, so don't expect me to pay any attention to answers that say he doesn't exist, that the Bible has errors, that evolution (macroevolution) is right, the Big Bang is right, or that i'm stupid for what i believe. i'm just looking for an answer that can either agree or disagree if the gap theory is reasonable and why.

  • just out of curiosity, ex-Christians,?

i've heard a bunch of stories on how you reach a certain age (usually 20) and then you suddenly decide that you don't need God, the Bible is a bunch of fables, or evolution makes more sense. I'm actually heading in the opposite direction, questioning things, but supporting what i know from Scripiture and sources outside of it to deepen my knowledge (you can't say im not thinking for myself ..... and i've been looking at both sides) How much research did you really do before you decided to think that God is a myth? Did you just look at evolution and other arguments made by atheists and simply decide that it made the most sense, or did you go back and forth between arguments? and do you regret or occasionally doubt your decision? no name- calling please, just state your answer. i'm not really looking to be convinced to as you might say, " get some real knowledge" especially cuz i've been studying both sides intensely for about 6 months now. just looking for a different viewpoint from those who went the other way.

  • good christian band names?

my youth group has decided to start a small christian band for church since we all have musical talents and we want to pep up the service a bit. a friend and i were the ones who came up with the idea and we've found a few songs we'd like to play. So far, our youth only has 4 main members (the others are kind of on and off) and a vicar who can play guitar. everything's ready... we just need an actual name and some practice time. any name suggestions? btw, we're WELS Lutheran in case you're wondering.

  • christians, how to hear God's voice?

for quite a while now, i've been reading different books and articles on how to hear God's voice after hearing countless stories of people saying that theyve heard him or he told them to do something. after months of reading these books and the bible itself, i still haven't had any success. i've followed the advice given (such as confessing my sin, making sure i'd forgiven everyone, reading my bible regularly, and being still) but nothing seems to happen. God has answered my prayers... in fact, he did so today but i really want to hear him and know if he has anything for me to do or someone specific to help, things like that. ive heard in many places that God doesnt speak to us this way anymore, but judging by all the different accounts from people, i'm starting to think differently. have any of you had one of theses encounters? do you know how or why it happened and is there any advice you can give me? could it be something i need to change or should i just keep waiting for the Lord? and one more note: atheists, please dont answer this with nonsense about certain theories and all that garbage. i already know what you're going to say. been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. and dont tell me God doesnt exist and he wont answer either because he does and he will and you're never going to change my mind about that no matter how "ignorant" you think i am.
