17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHas anyone else dreampt of a tsunami?
All my life I have been plagued by tsunami dreams. Normally the sea starts to recede. Its at this stage that I know I need to warn my family. They always seem to be there. I hear the ocean, I smell the salt sea, I even seem to feel the storm winds on my face. I always see the huge, frightening wave approaching.
Sometimes we escape on to higher ground. Sometimes we hide in an underground room of some sort..It's super freaky.
I was once told any dream connected to water usually means the emotions are in play.
What do you think
2 AnswersDream Interpretation1 decade agoCan anyone define 'deviance' for me?
Sociology essay needs practical examples of deviance.
Google defines deviance as: a form of behaviour which is considered to violate society's norms and therefore to be unacceptable
I wonder if we have any forms of deviance in here!!

This comment has just been past on to me...
Women in general are becoming more and more s.l.u.t.t.y every year. We dress like whores because its the only way we are getting ahead..
I know how I have answered this...tell me...how would you answer this.
I am more than interested in your answers
11 AnswersGender & Women's Studies1 decade agoMarriage verses living together in a partnership..which is right?
Still seems to be a big deal to be Mr & Mrs and yet it still seems to be a big deal to just move in together.
Parents are either torn apart by their kids decisions or they just don't care at all. I think we need to vote on this one. Will you marry me or will we live together....choices choices!!
10 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoIs it right to sleep around with who ever wants to sleep with you? Is this giving in to temptation or lust?
I can't help but notice that an enormous amount of advertising is quite lusty..Images of nakedness or stuff with sexual suggestions are out there for all to feast on. Does it give people permission to indulge or to give in?
11 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoAre 'female single parents' stigmatised regardless of how they came to be in that situation?
I have heard & read that single mothers:
1) Only want to receive welfare payments
2) Are all potential s l u t s, out of choice
3) Want to receive freebies from gov suppliments
4) Laz around all day...eating
5) Are really party animals
6) Spend all their money on 'pokies or pubs'
7) Are non-intellegent zombies
8) Need a male to look after them
Blah Blah Blah...
Personally I think they are falsely stigmitised. I think single mothers are hard working, intellegent people who do it rough, and most times do the best they can for their families and themselves.
I don't think they need condemnation...I think every person needs to be able to have a fair go...

4 AnswersGender & Women's Studies1 decade agoIs an xbox a good gift for my 4 year old son?
I brought my little boy an xbox for christmas. I thought it might occupy him while I studied during the evening.
He absolutely hates it when I turn the game off at the end of his 2hours play. He talks about it 24/7. He loves it!
Friends are divided on this one as some think it's ok infact perfectly normal for him to have the xbox provided it is a family event and supervised.
Other's think of it almost as the devils plaything. "Children can become completely obsessed by the darn thing so get rid of it".
I personally like some of the games such as 'Robots, Rodney Copperbottom' and 'SpongeBob Squarepants' but! have I done the right thing by my son?
What do you think?
