2 AnswersLanguages8 years agoAnyone else fed up of schools not doing enough to address bullying?
My daughters school has decided to use the term 'disagreements' to describe incidents where a child is made fun of/picked on/hit.
I feel if an issue is not called what it is, then it is not being addressed properly, therefore it cannot be dealt with and handled properly.
What i would like to know is how, when any child is just minding there own business and two or more children then approach that child and call him/her names and the child that is approached does not retaliate in any way, can be called a disagreement?.
Surely it takes two or more people to disagree on something for anything to be called a disagreement?.
And i am not talking about singular incidents, this term disagreements is also used if the same child is approached frequently in the school by the same children.
The school also have a policy of not informing parents of the children when such incidents occur, the school say's "what happens in the classroom, stays in the classroom". Then how exactly can parents teach their children that certain behaviors are not acceptable and are harmful to others?.
How on earth can bullying be dealt with if it isn't even being recognized/addressed?
Thanks for any input x

1 AnswerOther - Skin & Body9 years agoHelp to settle a dispute! What is seen as more attractive?
Ok, my friend (male), and i (female) are discussing looks. He thinks society find the Kim kardashian type of look more attractive, the glossy dark hair, tan (fake or otherwise) etc.. i said this look is very beautiful if it is natural, if the person is born with it. He said that even if it is fake, it is more beautiful than the pale skin, brown hair natural look. He describes what he thinks is the most favored look as being being exotic and sexy.
I think that the more natural look is far better and people like Emma Watson are seen as more attractive, as is anyone who isn't fake baked and heavily colouring their hair, which i describe as natural/classic beauty that isn't sexed up. I think the natural look, be it dark, brown, blonde, red wins over the heavily made up look.
I have light brown hair, hazel/green eyes and pale skin. My friend thinks i am too plain and in need of a bit of colour and he wants to give me a make over of dark hair and a light tan, i have always been ok with my looks and felt comfortable in my own skin, but now i am wondering if my looks (colouring) is a bit bland and boring. He is a hairdresser and i work in beauty.
So i posted this just to gather opinions, dyed black hair, fake tan V's natural?, thanks in advance for sharing your opinion xo

1 AnswerFashion & Accessories9 years agoImaginative help! What could be used to summon/send beings to various places?
Ok, i am writing a piece of fantasy, it is pretty much complete, but i want to change something i felt was a bit mundane.
I need an object that could be used to summon things such as bad and good spirits and also send them away, but it can be doubly used to send people to different places and worlds.
The object would be used by people with magical ability such as sorcerers/witches etc..
I was first using a pentagram for it and have people standing at each point while reading aloud a spell, then i changed it to a faerie ring then a golden hoop, now i feel that i should have something a bit more interesting/imaginative,
Anyone have any ideas?

2 AnswersEdinburgh9 years agoSome of my chillies are turning red prematurely!! Help!?
I have a big bushy Apache chili plant, some of the pods are a good size and still green, but some pods that are tiny are turning red!?!.
I took some of the tiny red pods off and cut them up, they are completely seedless and have no heat, the pods that are the right size are very hot and full of seeds.
When i bought the plant at Homebase, i saw that the hot plants were positioned right beside the sweeter ones. Could this be happening due to some cross pollenation?
Are there any other reasons why this is happening?
Please help!
1 AnswerGarden & Landscape10 years agoWhy would a Pakistani man not like me speaking Urdu?
I speak a good bit Urdu, most people from Pakistan that i know, and people that i don't know, are very happy when i meet and greet etc...in Urdu, although most are surprised at first, but happily so. Except one man who said to me that i am not to know and understand that language, he seems to have a real problem with it, he doesn't speak much Urdu himself, but speaks Hindi. Why would he be so offended?, i mean, it is okay for him to emigrate from Pakistan and learn English (which he did), so why is it not okay for an English speaker to learn Urdu?.
I speak 6 different languages, Polish, Italian, Spanish, French, Urdu and English, and never came across such an attitude before.
Anyone know why it would offend a Pakistani person when a British person speaks Urdu?
Any help would be appreciated,
thanks x

3 AnswersOther - Home & Garden10 years agoA man is full on flirting with me? confused, advice pls?
An older man is flirting with me, very openly, when i see him he calls me beautiful, he asks me things about myself, when i dropped something he cupped my hand to give back to me, and sometimes he is a bit cheeky. Some of the things he says to me/asks me are filled with innuendo. He asked me if i am going anywhere on holiday today, i said no, he replied (jokingly, i think) that he will take me away, and also said he will take me on a long drive in his car and he wants to take me to a far away hot country.
One time he asked me if i am all ready for Ramadan - he is Muslim from Pakistan, i am white Scottish and he knows i am not Muslim but asked anyway? he said that when Ramadan begins, he will have to aviod me as at that time, as he will have to give up his temptations, but will make me traditional halva sweets as soon as it's over.
I see him a couple of times a week as he works in the area i live in and he is always full on, every time.
Is he just having a bit of flirty fun?, or does it sound a bit more than that? could he be a bit of a cad and maybe like this with lots of girls/women and just very flirty?, i don't know much about men and their intentions so i don't know how to take it all,
any help or ideas about his flirting would be a big help,
Thanks
13 AnswersSingles & Dating10 years agowhy some people look haggard with dark hair?
When i dyed my hair a dark brown, i looked haggard, even though the colour was gorgeous and made my hair shine etc, as soon as i set it back to light brown i looked bright and healthy?!
I really love dark hair, and on most people it looks great, but i looked awful with it.
Why would this be? Does skin tone and eye colour etc play a big role in how a hair colour looks on person to person?
2 AnswersHair10 years agoHow to pre-lighten roots with less damage? Pls Help!?
I had my hair dyed black for years, two years ago i lightened it, then re coloured it to light brown, the colour is perfect but i have to pre lighten the roots and re colour them light brown every 4 weeks. The dying is making my hair dull and weak.
Is there any way i can keep doing my roots without harming my hair?, or should i just go back to a darker brown that will blend with my roots as my hair grows? people say that healthy hair of any colour is nicer than a great colour on unhealthy hair, but i really love this colour on me and works perfect with my eyes and skin.
Please advise xo

2 AnswersEthnic Cuisine1 decade agoshould i complain about neighbours behaviour? Please help?
On Sunday, my neighbours 6 yr old kid asked to play with my daughter and her friend who are both 12. My daughter said, sorry but no, i am too big to play with you. Then the 6 yr old ca.me to my door and asked me, i said i also think that my daughter is a bit too old. I didn't want her to feel sad or left out, so i gave her a bubble blowing set and off she went quite happily.
Yesterday morning when i was on my way to work, the kids mother stopped me in the street and began to scream, swear and have a right go about how we didn't let her kid play and that we were all the (swearings) under the sun.
I couldn't even make out half of what she was shouting, and i asked to her to calm down a bit but she kept on and on. She said she is going to get her husband to kick in my daughters friends dad etc...i spoke with her husband as we get on ok, and he isn't going to do anything, he thinks his wife was out of order.
Should i let the housing association know what happened, as i really don't want a repeat of it or would that be acting too hastily? should i wait and only complain if she does it again?
Advice would be appreciated, thanks

5 AnswersHair1 decade agoI have 2 male cats and they fight each other so much, driving me crazy!?
I have two 2year old male cats, they are brothers from the same litter, i rehomed them at 12weeks old from a cat shelter, they got on fine up until they turned 1year, but for the past year, they try to square up to each other and fight at any oppertunity!, they get outdoors, they are both neutered and they don't fight with any other cats, they get on fine when they are out in the garden, but when they are inside, they go crazy and growl at each other, i have to seperate them into different rooms, and they scratch at the doors to get out and make howling noises to each other. I don't want to give up either of the cats as i feel that is a bad thing to do when they came from a shelter in the first place and deserve a forever home, but i need them to stop this behaviour,
Can any one give advice help? please?

I need to go see a dentist, i have a problem tooth, but i and terrified! How do you cope and get yourself in through the dentist doors?
3 AnswersDental1 decade agoHair experts, i need your advice please?
Hi, every 3 to 4 weeks, sometimes more often, i have to do my roots. I like my hair to be light brown, it seems to be the only colour that suits me, so i have to first pre lighten my roots then re colour them with light brown. I need to know how to do this without over lapping the pre lightener onto the the lengths of my hair, i always end up with with the pre lightener covering about an inch or more of my hair and this is damaging it.
Also, is there anything i can smother onto my hair lengths to help protect it while i do my roots? i tried conditioner and it helped a bit but i was hoping there would be something with a bit more protection.
My hair is to my shoulders and i want to grow it longer, but it is taking forever and i know it is due to the chemical damage.
I cant just put on a light brown without pre lightning as my hair is a auburn shade and goes bright orange when i put on light brown dye without lightening the reds out first.
I was thinking maybe i could use some kind of hair oil or barrier cream?
Thanks,
Samantha xx
