  • How to handle needy dog?

I am housesitting and taking care of two dogs and one of them is just driving me up the wall. I don't know what to do. She keeps staring at me like she wants something and making these little huffs and noises at me. I have already walked her twice, tried to play with her, and tried giving her treats and attention but she won't let up. She's done this the past two nights as well. I'll let her outside but she just walks around and looks at me like I'm stupid and then won't listen to me when I try to get her to come back in (so I have to lure her with a treat).

I am at my wits end! I feel like crying. I'm not a dog person and I don't know how to deal with dogs and she just kees running me around. I finally just locked myself in the room I'm sleeping in because I can't deal with this. She's not whining or barking or anything, I think she's just waiting for me to come back out. I tried giving her an extra long walk after dinner so she'd be tired and wouldn't act like this but that didn't seem to work.

I've looked after her multiple times before and this is the first time she's behaved this way.

What do I do? It's dark outside so we can't play catch or anything. I just want to go home to my cats :(

  • Dog won't go outside to pee in the rain?

I'm dog-sitting and right now there is a big storm going on outside. Very blustery and rainy. The dog (a big shepherd mix) that I'm watching has indicated a couple times to me that she needs to go potty but every time I take her outside she takes one look at the storm and turns right back around. The owner does keep some training pads down so if it comes to it I guess she can go there but I feel bad because I don't want her to be uncomfortable or anything. I don't have dogs of my own so I'm not really sure how to deal with little problems like this! Any advice is appreciated :)

  • Normal patterns of weight gain in a kitten?

I have two kittens (brothers) that are approximately 14 weeks old. They've both been growing like crazy. One of them is long and lean while the other is pudgier in comparison (but not overweight). Upon adopting them from the SPCA ~6 weeks ago they were vaccinated and tested negative for worms as well as given a clean bill of health from our primary care vet.

The pudgier one, though, seems to be putting on some weight at his belly closer to his hind legs. His tummy feels bigger than it used to but it doesn't really appear bloated (although he's always been a little pot bellied), but when we hold him his stomach just seems more substantial. It's not firm or tender and he still eats, drinks and plays normally with no changes to his stool.

Should I be worrying about worms? Or is this just normal kitty weight gain? My mom wants to wait a few days to see if anything changes but I want to at least call our vet to see if it warrants a visit.

  • "Oh Sherrie" on a taxi cab in San Francisco?

Residents of San Francisco! Today as I was riding MUNI I saw a taxi cab with "Oh Sherrie" advertised on the top...being an avid lover of Steve Perry (as if people who don't love him actually exist) I need to know what this is about! Googling "Oh Sherrie San Francisco taxi cab" and various combinations of those words wielded no results, so now I turn to you, Yahoo Answers community. What is it/where can I find it?

  • How to get rid of broken batteries?

I had this battery powered clicker for school that's been at the bottom of my backpack for a while now. I finally decided to get rid of it to find that the batteries inside had leaked battery acid inside their little chamber. How am I supposed to get rid of this thing? I know how to recycle batteries but not what to do with these ones or with the clicker that they leaked acid all over. I tried looking it up online but didn't find anything useful. Any help would be great!

  • Blackberry troubles...?

My Blackberry curve 8330 has just deleted all of my contacts. Luckily they're still saved on my computer (I have a Macbook with OS 10.4.11), and so I just tried to sync all of my contacts back onto my phone and it won't let me (a warning keeps coming up that says "skipping"). I tried to enter them all by hand, but it won't save any that I've entered by hand either. I've been needing to do a software update for a while now and haven't been able to because you can't on a mac (I keep meaning to borrow one of my friend's PC's but haven't gotten around to it). Do I just need to update the software for this problem to go away or is there something else I can do? I just did a battery pull and am going to see if that gets me anywhere. And my carrier is TMobile, if that makes a difference. Thanks!

  • Nursing student to CNA?

I will be completing my second year of nursing school this spring, and once I finish this semester I'll be qualified to work as a CNA in California. What are the steps I need to take to get certified? I'm happy to provide any additional info, just ask :)

    Thank you!

  • Some help with dialogue formatting?

I have a question about proper dialogue formatting and starting a new paragraph with each speaker. Out of these two options, which way is the correct way to format dialogue?

    1)

"Character A speaks." Character B reacts.

    "Character B speaks."

    OR

    2)

    "Character A speaks."

Character B reacts. "Character B speaks."

I've always thought the first way is correct, but I've seen a lot of people use the second way. Or are they both right? If so, is there a difference between the two?

    Thank you!
