  • What to do with roommate?

An old friend of mine got mentally ill, lost his job, and his wife kicked him out. He went to a hospital after a suicide attempt, and after a while, he asked to crash with me until he can get through the divorce and leave town.

A few weeks turned into months, and is now 9 months. I think he's done with everything and just won't get his stuff (from his house) and go.

His hygiene is awful, and he's always so doped up he's not the friend I used to know. Problem is, he'll probably be dead inside a month if I straight kick him out.

I've more then hinted that he's overstayed his welcome, but he's unmotivated to do anything. Meanwhile, my apartment smells like a dumpster and my entire life is on hold as long as he's around.

I have good money, so I can afford him, but I'd like my life back. But I also don't want him to kill himself (or maybe me) in my apartment.

    Any thoughts?

  • Why does my email require both a Trash folder AND a Deleted Items folder?

I now have to delete everything 3 times to get rid of it. Is this some kind of new NSA requirement? It's certainly not much of a feature anyone wants.

  • What's an appropriate gift for a young relative's confirmation party?

I see these guys once or twice a year, I'm not a godparent or anything like that. And I was not invited to the confirmation, just the after party at the house.

  • Why do I need to login to Yahoo mail EVERY TIME?

Do not say "Check the box that says 'Keep me signed in'". I do that. In fact, I AM still signed in to Yahoo, but going back to mail makes me enter the password again every time.

Do not say 'Please go to this page of possible answers" because it does not contain the answer.

Do not say "Log out and log in again".

This is purely a result of the recent "upgrade". Just say you're working on it or you're not working on it.

  • Yahoo now makes me login every session?

Is this a "feature " that I can turn off? It used to give me a month or two before asking me for my password again. I am not interested in your extra security.

  • Keep getting "Confirm Close" popup in Yahoo Mail?

First of all, can you believe contacting Yahoo Mail Help just tells you to go ask someone else in Yahoo Answers?

So what keeps happening is I am writing an email and I get a popup window that says:

    Confirm Close

    Save draft Exit Keep Writing

It comes back repeatedly and interrupts writing. Also does not allow me to add an attachment. It's been a couple of days now. Any thoughts?

  • What do you call a trike on the wrong side of the headpin?

In Philadelphia area, I've always heard it called a Jersey strike. Closer to New York, they call it the Brooklyn side.

I'm curious what people around the states call it.

  • Ethical dilemma - Should I pay for a broken watch?

I brought 3 watches to a jeweler for new batteries. They put in two, but couldn't get the third watch (worth < $25) back together and told me to come back another time for it so the head jeweler could check it out. I paid for the two batteries and he gave me an estimate for $16 to fix the third. ($6 for the battery and $10 to repair it)

A few days later, I get a call from them saying they can't fix the watch and I should come get it.

I started thinking...Why? Why would I go and get a broken watch? Just to pay for attempted repairs and then throw it away?

    What would you do?
