Could I have skin cancer?
Hi,
Around October/November last year, I developed a patch of dry skin above my upper lip, it was circular and red and flaky, but I dismissed it and hoped it would go away by itself. When it didn't, I started to assume that it was ringworm, though I was skeptical because I had that once and this patch of skin didn't look too similar, but nevertheless I tried to treat it with the cream I was prescribed last time. No luck. It stopped flaking as much and it isn't as red, but I'm left with a slightly darker, circular, and bumpy patch of skin above my upper lip. Recently I've found two other smaller patches that look the way that the original one started as.
I'm running out of ideas on what this can be. I'm going to the doctor ASAP but I can't help but worry that this is a cancer and that I've left it too long. Could that be a possibility? What else could it be?
Thank you.
1 AnswerSkin Conditions9 years agoSkinny jeans dilemma - too tight around knees?
Just bought some new high-waisted skinnies from Topshop, which I have been eyeing for some time now, but I'm having quite a bit of trouble with them now that I have them. The waist fits perfectly, which is normally what I look out for when I'm buying high-waisted jeans (the next size up looks so obviously loose around the waist), but they're so tight around the knees that I felt a little light-headed once I got them off. They're not particularly stretchy unfortunately. Is there anything I can do to loosen up the leg parts of these jeans? I can return them if not, no big deal. It'd just be a shame, the fit of the waist is so ideal :(
6 AnswersFashion & Accessories9 years agoAdobe Photoshop CS3 not opening (not responding while loading)?
Not sure what's caused this, Photoshop's been working fine for me for years, now all of a sudden I can't open it. Every time I try, while it's loading, I get the 'not responding' message and the only option is to close it again. Any ideas on what the problem is/what I can do to fix it?
1 AnswerSoftware9 years agoHow do I achieve this photo effect with Photoshop?
This has been driving me crazy. I've been trying to figure out how to give my photos this green-tinged technicolour 60s movie effect, to no avail. Kind of like in this picture: http://i42.tinypic.com/jgqwk7.jpg
I use Photoshop CS3. Any suggestions would be awesome.
3 AnswersPhotography9 years agoSynaptics touch pad select function not working?
I have a Toshiba Equium laptop (quite an old one, but I haven't had any real problems with it yet) and recently the select function on the touch pad has stopped working, both on the actual mouse keys and also the pad. I can scroll fine, I just can't click on anything.
The thing is, I've googled solutions (luckily I have a graphics tablet that I can use in the meantime), and I've managed to get it to work again, but every time I do, around 5 minutes later, the same problem occurs. It's becoming a cycle where it stops working, I plug in my tablet, go into the settings and play around, then enjoy the 5-10 minutes I have before it stops working again.
Could this be a virus of some sort? If so, any suggestions on which one it is/what I can do to get rid of it?
Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks10 years agoHow long should cystitis last with antibiotics? Could I have interstitial cystitis?
A while ago, I was diagnosed with cystitis and given antiobiotics for it. The doctor, however, didn't do any tests on me and I have an ultrasound scan only next week. As I was in a lot of pain though, he gave me Co-Amoxiclav, and I've been taking it for around 3 days now.
What worries me is that my symptoms haven't changed much after 3 days. I still have a very sensitive bladder and still feel as though I have to go every hour or so. How long does it normally take for the symptoms to go away with antibiotics?
Also, if it isn't an infection at all, what else could be causing these symptoms? I'm really worried about interstitial cystitis after reading about it, I'm 18 and I'm terrified of having to live with it for the rest of my life :(

1 AnswerFinancial Aid1 decade agoCan I get into a (supposedly) 18+ gig at Cargo in Shoreditch?
I'm 17, 18 this August, I've bought tickets online for a gig at Cargo, and I'll be going with a person over 18. I've tried to buy tickets to an over 18 gig before at a different venue, but seetickets kept declining my card, so I figured that since I managed to buy the tickets for THIS gig with my card, it wasn't an over 18 gig. It doesn't say anywhere on the Cargo event homepage or on the seetickets site that it's an over 18 gig, however on a couple of event websites that I came across after googling excessively, it's labelling the gig as an 18+ gig.
Will they ID me? Could I get away with being accompanied by someone over 18? I've already bought the tickets and have to pick them up at the box office there, if they don't give them to me because I won't have an ID, will I get my 20 quid back?!
1 AnswerOther - Entertainment1 decade agoKeep getting virus attack from "ku.perfectexe.com"?
I've scanned several times, nothing's been found, yet I keep getting "attacks" from this domain.
They're being "blocked" apparently, but they're coming every 2 minutes. Where is this coming from and what do I do?
I have Norton AntiVirus, if it matters.
Thanks.
2 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoHow much would this vinyl record sell for?
10" Sex Pistols, "God Save The Queen" and "Did You No Wrong"
Original (!!!) from 1977, almost mint condition, barely any scratches.
The sleeve's a little brown and torn, but the artwork is still intact.
I'm not planning to sell this, by the way, just interested in how much it's worth.
Thanks.
1 AnswerRock and Pop1 decade agoHow should I remove Antispyware soft? I've tried everything!?
I've seen questions about it on here and followed removal instructions, but nothing is working. I can't stop the processes with task manager, because it blocks that. It blocks malwarebytes, rkill, every legit antispyware program I've installed and tried. I've tried scanning in safe mode, but they don't find anything. Also, my laptop has started turning itself off during the scans. Probably due to overheating (is that a possibility?) but it's just as worrying.
Any last suggestions before I go out and buy a mac?
9 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoCircular knitting needles - how to neaten up the cable?
I've been knitting on circular needles for a few years, mainly store-bought ones, but I recently brought back my grandmother's old equipment, including a couple dozen circulars.
The problem with them is the fact that the cables are very stiff, and curled in eclectic ways, making knitting on them an absolute nightmare.
Is there any way I can neaten them up, straighten out the curls? I've tried soaking them in warm water already, didn't do much of a difference, sadly.
4 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoExternal hard drive/iTunes dilemma?
I just installed an external hard drive, connected to my computer via USB. I put a lot (a LOT) of music on there, and just spent even more time syncing it all to my iTunes. If I unplug the external hard drive, then put it back in, will all the music be "unsynced", loads of songs having to be located, taking time to do it all over again? What about when I turn the computer off?
Or will iTunes remember that all the music is on the external hard drive, and just locate it once I plug it in again?

5 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoVista Internet Security bug not showing up on Malwarebytes?
I've had this bug before, and following some instructions I found, I managed to get rid of it using malwarebytes. Now it's back (which is quite annoying!), I'm running malwarebytes once more, and after the scan it said "Objects infected: 0". Why isn't malwarebytes finding it this time?
3 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoHow do you knit a sweater/cardigan?
I've perfected knitting in the round by making dozens of hats, now I'd like to push up the bar a bit and start on sweaters/cardigans. Thing is, all the patterns I'm finding show to require a bit of background knowledge on how to make them in the first place, which I don't have.
Are there any good, comprehensive, step-by-step patterns online on how to knit them?

I know not every country assigns itself to a particular band or genre of music, but I was just wondering how well-known they are there - have they played live there often? Is their music played on the German radio? Is their music being sold in record stores?
Thanks in advance
