  • My older cat had to have a badly infected eye removed yesterday. The vet didn't send an e collar. Should I get one?

A friend who is a vet tech said he could tear out his stitches and I'll have an open, bleeding eye socket. He hasn't bothered the stitches. Should I get one??As I said, he is an older cat and not very active. He mostly sleeps, except when its time to eat. He hasn't bothered the stitches, so I hope he'll be OK. But now I'm worried.

  • Which type of PC is better for simple video streaming and general home use?

There are two choices, similarly priced on sale today. A Desktop PC with AMD Athlon 64 Processor, 4GB Memory, 250GB Hard Drive or Dual-Core Processor, 2GB Memory, 80GB Hard Drive. Which would be better for simply streaming video and general purpose?

  • Can someone sell you a mobile home and stipulate that you can never move it?

There is a mobile home park that is offering very cheap mobiles homes, and some are free. You pay only the lot rent. They require a lease, and have said that we can't ever move the trailer, that it must stay in the park permanently. Is it legal to do that?

  • Is there anywhere online that I can watch the complete original Dark Shadows series from 1966?

I watched the first several hundred episodes on Retro-cafe, but they had to remove them because of copyright problems. I watched up until episode 413 on Hulu.com, the free version, but then they stopped. Is there anywhere that I can watch the rest of them? I'm hooked now, and really want to see the rest of the series. It ended where Barnabus discovered he's a vampire!!!

  • cables to hook my laptop to tv?

I want to hook my laptop to my TV. I have an older RCA TruFlat HDTV. I have a laptop that has a VGA port, and my TV has several of the yellow, red and white ports and one set of the blue, green and red ports. Now, I'm confused about what to do. I think if I get a VGA to RCA cable, and use the blue green and red ports, I also have to use an additional cable for sound? But these will give me a better picture than using the regular red, yellow and white ports? If I need a different cable for sound, what kind do I need, and what port do I connect it to?

  • All of you Obama bashers.....?

what would you have done to pull the country out of the recession? Everyone is saying that "Obama has not done enough", but I really don't hear anyone with any better ideas.

What would you have done to help our economy and make our country a better place if you had been elected president?

  • Is it fair that substitute teachers can't collect unemployment during the summer?

I have been substitute teaching, and now it is summer. It seems horribly unfair that substitute teachers cannot collect unemployment during the summer! The little bit that substitute teachers are paid makes it impossible to save money for use during the summer. Also, substitute teachers don't have any of the benefits that teachers have, such as health insurance.

  • Anyone know about "lucid dreaming"?

I've recently heard of lucid dreaming. I don't really know what it is or how one would go about having "lucid dreams". Supposedly it is a dream state where the subject knows that he is dreaming.

    Just curious!

  • Does anyone really care about the "Royal wedding"?

I keep hearing the newscasters saying that everyone is waiting for this "big event". In truth, I haven't heard a single person talking about it that wasn't a news person. Why do they think everyone cares so much about this wedding? I don't think most people are that interested.

What do you think? Are you that interested? And if you are, do you live in Britain?

  • How do you answer what is your greatest weakness during an interview?

I have an interview next week for a position as a middle school science teacher. I have been trying to figure out what to say if I'm asked about my greatest weakness. I can't say, "I have trouble sometimes with classroom management". What kind of weakness would be acceptable? I really need this job. There are very few teaching jobs in our area, because there have been about 300 teachers laid off this year and more expected to be laid off next year. I have been working as a substitute teacher, and I'm getting by, but just. I would appreciate any advice. If I get the job, this will be my first teaching position. I worked in science for years as a scientist, but last year I got a grant to take courses to teach middle or high school science.

  • I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I'm thinking about getting a dog...?

I have Rheumatoid arthritis, and I know I don't get enough exercise. I think I would like to get a dog, for two reason. 1. It'll be company for me, and 2. it will be a good reason for me to get out after work and walk. Right now, its too easy to say "i'm too tired" and plop down on couch. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • What is a good laid-back type of dog for an apartment?

I want to adopt a dog from one of the local shelters. I don't want a puppy, but a laid-back dog that would be good with a nice walk in the evening. I live near a dog park, so we could go there on the weekends for a good romp. I substitute teach, so the dog would have to be home alone for at least 8 hours everyday. I also have 3 cats, one who is very old. I was thinking of a boxer mix, but was told they are too active to be kept in an apartment and left alone for so long during the day. Maybe a dog would not be a good idea, since my apartment isn't great big...Advice?

  • Would a boxer be a good dog for me?

I'm thinking of adopting a boxer from one of the local shelters. There are several cute boxer mixes that I have been looking at. I live in an apartment, but I am very near a bike trail, and there is a dog park just down the street. I have three cats, one who is 18 years old. I don't really want a puppy, but an adult dog who would be OK with a walk in the evening and a trip to the dog park on the weekends. I work as a substitute teacher, so the dog would have to be home alone (with the 3 cats) for at least 8 hours every day. Would a boxer be a good dog for me? Also, when I go to the shelter, how do you evaluate a dog for temperament? I want to be sure the dog can live safely with my cats.

  • Has anyone tried the homemade digital tv antennas?

There are a lot of different sites on the web that tell you how to make a homemade antenna. They claim (as do the viewers) that these work as well or better than the ones you can buy? If you have made one, which style did you use? Has anyone tried the shoebox antenna?

  • Can snowdrops be grown well in full sun?

I have some snowdrop bulbs that I need to plant. I live in an apartment, and my front flowerbed faces the South, so it gets the direct sun. My patio is in the rear of my apartment, and faces North. Would it be a bad idea to put snowdrops in the south-facing flowerbed? If they will grow better, I'll put them around my patio, facing north. I've read that they can be grown in full sun or shade, and then I read somewhere else that they don't do as well in full sun.

  • Does anyone use Page Plus cellular and use a flashed Verizon Phone?

The hub hub online is that Verizon is no longer allowing its prepaid phones to work with Page Plus, and that even existing PPC users will have to get Page Plus phones?

    Has anyone heard this rumor?

    3 AnswersCell Phones & Plans1 decade ago
  • Is it true that Page Plus will no longer allow activation of Verizon per-paid phones?

I had planned on porting my phone, which I recently ordered from Walmart, online. The phone is a LG 5500 Verizon (LG VX-5500), and I am still waiting to receive this order. I had the intentions of using the 300 minutes that came with the phone, and then having it ported over to Revol or Page Plus. I looked online and the phone was listed in the chart of available phone types that could be ported.

Now I am hearing that I will not be able to do this, as Verizon has

stopped allowing its prepaid phones to be ported. Is this true?

    If so,

I may have to return the phone to Walmart, because I don't like the

    prices of Verizon's prepaid plans.

If I don't activate it with Verizon would page plus be able to do it?

I would appreciate any information you can give me on this matter.
