  • Are weight scales accurate in doctor's offices?

So a month ago my friend and I decided to start an experiment. She didn't go to the gym and I did (mostly for free weights) we ate the same meals and on the day of our monthly weigh in I was 15lbs heavier then her and she had lost 4lbs.

We are the same age, height and before this the same weight.

I feel energized and she feels tired.

She has a bit of a bulge and I lost 3 inches off my waist.

Plus I'm starting to get toned in my arms and legs.

We also used a digital weight scale which said I had 17% body fat and she had 26%body fat. Yet like I mentioned before I'm 15 lbs heavier then her.

If I was a teen suffering from weight issues and only had a standard scale I would be more inclined to think I was overweight.

So should basic scales still be used in doctor's offices or is this not how it normally works.

If you've tried this experiment and got different results please let me know.

  • How much should I force myself to eat?

Okay before I begin I'm not on a diet, I don't think I'm fat 5.2 and 104 lbs (on the thinner side of normal on a bmi scale), I'm not counting calories, and I don't refuse food if offered to me.

That said. I don't get hungry or even the normal rumbling sounds that annoy most until they get a bite to eat. I also don't get thirsty. (but I still drink a bottle of water a day in small amounts). If I was stranded on an island I would be fine without food for 10 days and with plenty of energy. (longer story inserted here) But of course I know I have to eat so when to eat is dictated by the alarm on my cell phone. 7am breakfast, 1:00 lunch, and 6:00 dinner. But here's the weird thing it doesn't matter how long I starve myself I can't eat more than half a cup of food before feeling stuffed and bloated. I also get constipated a lot (gross I know but I think relevant) Urine and stools when they do come out are perfectly normal.

    What I ate yesterday

Slice of bread with nutella (breakfast)

Lemon rosemary chicken leg and steamed rice (lunch)

Cooked spinach in marinara sauce with whole grain rottini pasta.(dinner)

Stuffed after first meal and each meal after that just made me feel even more stuffed and bloated. Didn't finish any of the meals and it was little kid size portions.

    Help!

  • Is this legal or should I talk to her supervisors about it?

Heres the gist of the story. I started volunteering at the school were my sister used to work. My sister and I get together once a week but I live full time with my husband and kids. The other day I was really ill and was rushed to the er. My supervisor that knows my sister asked if she should call her. I said that was not neccessary. I asked the paramedics to call my husband instead.

So my husband and sister don't get along so I try to keep these two halves of my life seperate.

Which wasn't possible that day because an hour after my husband arrives, my sister walks in. My husband already knowing the drill walks out. My sister tells me she found out from my supervisor.

When I asked my supervisor why she had said anything. she said she thought I wasn't making the right decision and she gave me two weeks off.

I sent her e-mails telling her the time off wasn't necessary and that I was perfectly capable of making decisions regarding my health and who I wanted to contact in case of an emergency. Instead of emailing me back she e-mails my sister and asks if she thinks its alright for me to come back.

I'm wondering if maybe I should just stop going or any other suggestions would be helpful.

  • what do these red dots on the lower left part of my abdomen mean?

Okay this all started on tuesday night 2/22. I didn't really have an appetite to eat dinner so I went to bed early around 9:30pm. Then around eleven I woke up feeling really hot. Checked my temperature and it came back 102.6. I took some motrin and put a wet towel on my head. Then an hour later I started to (well for a lack of a more medical term) puke my guts.

In the morning my temperature was finally down, but I still felt nauseaous. So I decided to go to the hospital. I had to go by public transportation and puked around four times in my one hour commute over. The lower left side of my abdomen also started to hurt. They checked my temperature, blood, urine and felt my abdomen and said I must have food poisening so they gave me nausea meds and antivirals.

I continued to throw up and have fevers and the pain didn't go away for the next two days. I ended up throwing up at work so much that my boss called the ambulance. Now I was told I had the flu.

I'm still not able to keep things down, the pain in my abdomen is worse then the labor pains I had when I was having my kids and yesterday I started to see small red dots on the area of my abdomen that hurts.

What the heck is going on?

  • can't reach landlord for 30 day notice?

I have to move. My 3 hour commute to my new job is positively not working for me.

My landlord doesn't live on the property. But I have always been able to communicate with her through e-mail. I sent her a 30-day notice e-mail on the 28th of december letting her know I would be leaving on the 15th. But that I would pay the full month. Her assistant came on the first for the check and informed me that my landlord is in china visiting relatives.

I wrote last check on the memo line.

I haven't received a reply to my e-mail and my check hasn't been cashed.

How can I give a 30-day notice to a landlord when they aren't even around. Do I have to wait until she gets back? Or will my e-mail suffice against any lawsuits or attempts to keep my deposit.

FYI We were on a month to month contract.

  • What States statue of limitations should I use?

When the statue of limitations clock begins for credit card debt, is it based on the state the account was opened in or the state where the credit card company is located?

Before you tell me I should just pay off the debt, let me give you some background.

My dad had a heartattack his insurance didn't cover the whole debt so he was offered a one year no interest credit line. He sent the payments on time and then he had a relapse and they took the no interest off the table. He paid off his original balance and stopped making payments after he was unable to return to work. So he isn't refusing to pay back what he borrowed, he just refusing to pay 24% interest when the only reason it was placed on such a high rate is because he was in a hospital. A company like that doesn't deserve to get paid.

  • Am I liable for the credit card balance in any way?

Okay I know I should of checked my credit report sooner but I didn't.

I had a roommate 2 years back who apparently added me as an authorized user on one of her cards. I went to purchase another car at the same dealer I had purchased my previous car only to find out that I have a $6,000 delinquent balance and that the card hasn't been paid in 8 months.

I'm wondering whether or not to call them, but first I want to know if they may ask me to pay the money back?

  • What are my chances of winning if I fight it?

I'm 28 I've had my license for five years and the only time I've gotten a ticket until now was for not having the month sticker on my license plate. I was driving with my sister in the passenger seat and my mom in the back. We were heading towards Vegas for a relaxing valentines weekend. I was driving on highway 15 when a cop pulled us over and said his radar registered that my car was going 80 mph. I don't see how this could be possible there were only two lanes, I was on the left lane with a trailer in front of me and two trailers on my right side. I like taking this road because you don't get as pressured to go fast as other roads heading to Nevada. I have Arthritis and even though my disability doesn't impair me from driving, my legs aren't strong enough to go more than 70. My car has adjustable break pads and accelerator that take the pressure off my feet but even with that I have to take a break at every 3 hours of driving. Because of all the aspirin I took when I was younger I look like I'm 16. I'm wondering if the cop thought me and my sister were crazy teens. But what teen would go 80 in a 65 mile zone with their mother in the backseat especially when she is the type of mother who while teaching you how to drive yelled at you for going 36 in a 35.

Please let me know if you think I have a case against the radar machine....

By the way I don't have a disability placard, I can do everything a legal driver can do so I find no point in getting one. But I can get written proof if the physical proof doesn't suffice. My legs, feet, toes and hands are physical disfigured.

  • saint Jude left in home for sale?

okay so this is a question to all the wiser Catholics out there.

I was searching online for a home and saw a really nice one. I have been raised catholic all my life so it came to a surprise to find a picture of the homes fireplace and a statue of saint Jude on the mantel. My husband and I got curious and went to see the home and sure enough the statue of saint Jude is still there. Were puzzled because its a bank owned property and the rest of the house is completely empty, well at least the rooms we were able to see through the homes surrounding windows. We contacted the real estate agent but we haven't heard back from them. Is there a catholic church reason for not removing the statue?

  • What should I do now regarding PG&E?

I have been emailing PG&E's customer service for the last two weeks.I shut off the service on one of my homes and was supposed to get a refund on a deposit. Instead I got a bill saying I was only getting back $40 dollars because I had a previous balance due of $300 dollars. I've tried various ways to ask where the amount is coming from and I wonder if they even read my email because I get the same response every time.

My refund will be $40 dollars any payments made within the last seven days may not be reflected.

What should I do now? Or what agency should I contact to help me get an explanation for this amount?

  • Need help Acer S570Z won't boot.?

It was working perfectly fine last night. I shut it down and this morning it wouldn't boot. It starts running, the screen with the option to change the system settings comes on and then it goes to a black screen with the white line cursor. Then nothing. I've left it on for the last two hours to see if its just taking an annoyingly long time to load but I still don't see any change.

  • Is it legal to be dropped from a class for being sick?

I got the flu. I had a 120 degree fever, the chills, a bucket by my bedside was my best friend you get the picture. I had a class every Sunday for 8 weeks. We had a ten page paper in the class we were working out in teams. The syllabus did state we couldn't miss a single class. But I considered that the rest of my class wouldn't appreciate my determination in getting them sick. The school had also sent out an e-mail advising students to stay home if they did get sick especially with the flu. For each class we have to bring an article and a 2-page essay on our topic. I e-mailed my paper to the instructor the people in my group. I even set up a time later that week but before the next class and got the class notes and in-class writing assignments. I had everything completed. All my work up to this point has gotten an "A".

  • Does being married give me the right to know information regarding bills under my husbands name?

My husband is currently under a coma recovering from a second heart surgery. All the bills are under his name. We got a really high electricity bill this month. I called and they say I can't ask any questions regarding the account because I'm not named, I thought this qualified under community property since the home itself is under both our names. Their the only ones that are giving me trouble. I've been able to make changes and ask questions regarding all our other bills.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

  • Does anyone else feel cornered with comcasts new prices?

I've had the same service for 8 years channels 2-99 for 19.45 now I have to pay 59.95 for those same services or get my service shut down. For those who are paying this outrageous price is the service really ten times better as they claim. I think the company is really full of themselves if they think their service is really worth that much.

  • Reference check needed from past employer?

The last place I worked I was let go. I had three managers during my time there. The first two can recommend me but they no longer work for the company. The most recent manager will probably say I was a bad employee because I always questioned him on policy. It was a fight to the end. The company policy for reference is call HR and only dates of hire and salary are given. They don't even say if I quit or was fired. Does that mean that they can't contact my last manager. Or can I request they call one of my other previous managers and will this look bad.

  • legal help needed please respond.?

So I was let go because my bank account was overdrawn. I had two accounts one where I worked and another at another bank. I was having problems with my mortgage. I was able to negotiate a modification but they told me I had to pay the pending property taxes. I knew I was going to be recieving a tax refund in 8 days. I knowingly wrote a bad check. Days later I get taken to an office and they drill me about the check. I'm let go. They tell me I have to pay the money back. I sent them two postal checks. Along with a letter letting them know that I would be making five payment installments towards the account. I checked on my account and they haven't given me credit. A co-worker says they want the full amount. I'm still being charged fees. Normally when customers overdraw thier account, they are able to make small deposits to thier account without the continuation of fees as long as they don't miss an agreed payment. I desperatly need some help in how to deal with this Bank of America corporation. I'm getting nowhere on my own and my savings can only handle a month of mortgage. Looking for a job and dealing with this is stressing me out.

  • What does Final Pay AP Dedn mean?

Okay so I was let go from work a month ago. Today I get my final pay stub and its says "Final Pay AP Dedn" under after-tax deductions. Then its says Net pay 0.00. My pay was supposed to be for 244.43. I was let go because I wrote a bad check and overdrew my account. I've been depositing towards that balance. But since I'm out of work I've been depositing 100.00 a month. Can they legally take my last pay check.

  • Was accused of stealing? What now.?

Okay so about six months ago I was brought into a room and asked if I was taking money. I was like "what the ---- are you talking about" (in a more professional way of course. The lady said they already knew I was. I worked in a bank with a camara looking at my everymove 24/7. Yet they had no video evidence. After 3 hours of asking me weird questions about why I had opened an account at another bank (cuz this one sucks in customer service, would have been my answer) Where the large amounts of cash were coming from that were being placed in my account. (I got checks from doing bookkeeping and I would cash the checks at the banks they were drawn on to prevent placing a check with no funds in my account, then I would make a large deposit) They let me go and said they were going to investigate (investigate I thought you told me I stole). Three days later I get a call from my boss, I let it go straight to voicemail. He tells me I'm fired but he needs to talk to me. I don't go in. I had already turned everything in. A coworker of mine told me that the manager had said I stole 8,000 from the company. I'm no criminal expert but if they had that evidence why not have a cop pick me up instead of telling me they were going to investigate. I want to apply for another job. I checked my criminal background and its clear. But when they do the call to check why I was let go can they say it was for stealing.

As background. Three months before this happened I had to take some leave to attend a funeral. My manager told me I could leave but that when I got back he was going to let me go. (he left this on my voicemail after I had called to ask him) I took some extra days. When I got back he wanted to know why I hadn't been back. I told him if you were going to fire me it wouldn't make a difference whether it was today or three days ago. He says he didn't fire me. When I tell him I have it on tape. He gives me some dum legal jargen about not recording without consent. (He left a voicemail). He tells me he isn't going to fire me but if I think this is the right job for me. I told him I wasn't going to leave and if he wasn't going to let me go then I was going to get back to work. I only had the job for benefits I made anywhere between 4 and 8k a month doing bookkeeping and 120.00 at most a week. 30.00 of that went towards benefits. 20.00 towards retirement and the rest I donated. I wasn't going to leave unless I had a new job and had started recieving benefits or was forced to. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to continue getting benefits. Not that I was going to apply for unemployment.

After all this time I have still to see a cop with a warrant for me. But how can I protect myself from my old manager when he gets the call to confirm employment and the reason I was let go.
