This is probably the most awkwardly phrased question I've had to ask, but here's my problem. I'm trying to play my PS3 through my computer monitor. I have my PS3 and laptop both connected to the same HDMI cord, but they both think that they're the one trying to send information.

I was hoping there was a way that my computer could read the cable so that my PS3 could then appear on my laptop screen.

This has recently been a big thing with me. I don't think it's bad, necessarily, but it has intrigued me. I've noticed that when I experience an event, I notice nothing out of the ordinary, but looking back on it as soon as a minute later, I feel as though I have done or heard of such a thing way back in my childhood.

I'm probably explaining this really badly, but is this a common thing? Is there a name for it?
