  • What is the best way to trap my cat so I can get him back? (repost, please help!)?

So, 9 months ago my old apartment flooded and the landlord wouldn't fix it, so I had to get a new place. I gave my sister my cats to watch for a couple weeks until I found a new place to rent (the old one was unlivable-I stayed with my parents for a couple weeks and they don't like cats).

Anyway, one of my cats got out and my sister's neighbor stole him. She got him declawed and gave him to her son. I tried to get him back when I found out, but no one would help me because she was a police officer.

I just found out she got rid of my cat because he was being too mean to her other cats (he was always mean, his nickname was Little Fart). They live in a semi-rural area, and I am really worried about other animals attacking him and him not being able to defend himself.

The only problem is catching him to get him back. My sister lives kind of far away from me and I have 3 little kids to take care of, so I can't really spend a long period of time waiting for my cat to show up at her house. She won't go near him because he attacked her face a while ago and she has a bunch of scars from it, and now he's going after her cats.

Oh, and when I say he is a mean cat, I mean that he is really bad. I had 2 vets tell me they would not see him anymore because he was so horrible to them. He has urinary problems and once I had to leave him overnight at a very large university teaching hospital. When I came to get him the next day, he had police caution tape around his cage because he apparently escaped while they were doing surgery on another animal and attacked the vet performing the surgery and the tech who needed stitches because he clawed her up so bad. They wouldn't even go near his cage to bring him to me-I had to go into the back to get him. And he has really loose skin so even when you grab his neck like the vet does to immobilize him, he twists around and claws you. I know the lady who stole him declawed him, but only his front claws. So I don't know what kind of damage he can do now-but probably close to the same as before since the woman got rid of him.

Can I give her a have-a-heart trap to catch him? I don't even know if he'll go in one since he's not dumb. I'm afraid to call the animal control people to catch him for me because I don't know if they'll let me have him back if he's mean to them. (He's always been mean to almost everyone but me-everyone else hates him but I love him and miss him.) I don't know what to do to get my cat back at this point-I really just want him home with me.

Any suggestions on how to catch him without my sister actually needing to touch him would be appreciated. I've been waiting 9 months to get my cat back and I just really want to have him home with me.

Please help me out with advice. I had my cat for 7 years before he was stolen, and I know I'm the only one who gives a crap about him because he's so mean to everyone else. I don't want anything bad to happen now that I have a shot at getting him back. My sister had 3 cats run over/killed by wild animals in the last year (I know she's not a good cat owner, but I didn't know that before I left my cats with her.

  • How can I get my boyfriend to propose to me?

I've been with my boyfriend for 4 1/2 years and we have 3 kids together. We've lived together since the first one was born, and overall, our relationship is great. But it irks me to no end that he hasn't proposed. I've talked to him about it and how important it is to me to get engaged and get married one day. He feels that since we already live together and have kids, there is no need to get legally married. I don't think I'm being selfish or anything for wanting a diamond ring after giving him 3 amazing children. I know we're going to be together regardless, but I feel like the symbolism of having a ring to represent the commitment to each other is important. I'm almost at the point where I'm going to buy my own damn diamond for him to give to me.

I guess I just want ideas on how I can convey how important it is to me, since apparently I'm not getting through to him. I was engaged once before and I loved having a ring to wear and how when I looked at it, I always got all warm and fuzzy thinking about my relationship and getting married.

Am I just being silly and ridiculous, or do I have a valid point? Any input is appreciated.

  • What would you do if your sister acted like this? (sorry this is a long post)?

Ok, my younger sister and I are both in our 20s, but we have had issues for years. She is bipolar and very manipulative, and not on meds like she is supposed to be. When we were younger, she would steal from me and my parents to the point where we had to get locks on our bedroom doors, did drugs, and was very rebellious. When my parents took her to psychiatrists, she would pretend to have symptoms for different mental disorders so no 2 people diagnosed her the same (she had about 10 binders with printouts of different mental illnesses, and would fake symptoms).

She spent 4 years in a therapeutic boarding school, and when she got out, our relationship was better for a while. After I had my first baby, we got into an argument at my mom's house and got into a fight. She was beating me up and my dad had to rip her away from me. I left and filed a report at the police station and got a restraining order. However, while I was there, she called 911 and told them I was giving my son drugs, which was not true, and basically called CPS on me out of spite from the fight. My parents are afraid of her and took her side because they don't know what she is capable of.

We didn't speak for over a year and I went through hell with CPS until they dropped the case. I did not renew the restraining order at my parent's request because I was "tearing apart their family". I saw her again after I had my second baby and things were okay.

Then she had a baby and I had my 3rd 6 weeks later. CPS had a case against her because she tested positive for drugs at the hospital and they have not closed the case (her son is now 11 months old.) She and her boyfriend broke up on mother's day and she started seeing an ex with a drug problem that same day. She left her son at my mom's house and refused to take care of him for over a week because he looks a lot like his dad.

Then our Grandma died and she was going to wear an inappropriate outfit to the funeral. She wouldn't attend the wake because she was with her new boyfriend (the one with the drug problem). My mom and I bought her a nice outfit to wear and she refused. The morning of the funeral, I asked to see her outfit and she started screaming at me, then punched me in the face when I tried to pick up her son, who was crying from the yelling. I was upset and my dad got her off me again. My mom and I left while my dad got her out of the house. She dropped her son off at the babysitter with no diapers or food, and covered in poo, and told her he only drinks water. We use the same babysitter, so she called my boyfriend to see if she could use my son's stuff with my nephew (that was fine, obviously). My mom was upset, and told my dad to call the police on her once the baby was safe at the babysitter's. He wouldn't. I wanted to file an assault report against her, but my parents told me I couldn't destroy the family like that and she would find a worse way to retaliate against me. So I didn't, because I need their help watching my kids sometimes and they have enough going on with my sister that don't need to aggravate them too.

Now we have a teenage relative staying with my parents for a week. I am still not speaking with my sister, and my mom just started speaking to her again today. I'm still upset that she won't apologize for hitting me, but she told my dad I provoked her so she won't apologize. He wants us to go out to dinner and Dave and Buster's while the relative is here, but I really don't feel ready to make amends with my sister because she keeps doing terrible things to me and my family, over and over again. But I don't want to upset my parents either, because they go through so much crap with her. I just don't know what to do. I really don't think I can stand sitting through dinner with her at this point. I want her to stop being horrible to me and my parents.

  • Should I get my kids baptized even though their dad is against it?

I grew up Catholic and he grew up Atheist. I'm obviously not a good Catholic because I have 3 kids and I'm not married, but the longer I go without baptizing them, the more it bothers me. My kids are 3 1/2, 2 1/2, and 9 months old. I don't necessarily want to do it in a Catholic church, but I've been to Lutheran services on holidays and really enjoy everything about them. I tried talking to my boyfriend, but he is so against them being baptized at all. I don't want to go behind his back and do it without his knowledge, but I also don't think I could live with myself if anything happened to one of my kids and they weren't baptized. Any advice?
