  • What do you consider to be "selling out"?

Artists, athletes, musicians. What line do they have to cross before you consider them having sold out?

  • Does Yahoo screen some questions?

I asked a question calling into question their practice of filing non-LGBT-related things in the LGBT section, but it never showed up in the open questions section.

    Does Yahoo screen questions?

  • How shall we fix the Y!A LGBT section?

So I've been typing sample question with certain key words in them, just to see where Yahoo Answers puts them. All I typed was "Question [word]" to see where it would put those specific words.

Here are the words I typed that got put into the LGBT category:

    "Incest"

    "Pedophilia"

    "Immoral"

    "Fetish"

    "Polygamy"*

Yahoo Answers is associating the LGBT community with incest, pedophilia, and immorality, and implying that it is a fetish (or that only we are kinky).

So what shall we do about this? Besides the fact that it's insulting, it's also tedious to constantly see non-LGBT questions put into this section.

Also: What categories would you suggest the above words be put into instead?

  • How can I get my GF to talk more like a grown-up?

I love her to death, but she talks in a combination of baby-talk, lol-speak, and broken English most of the time (she's a native English speaker). It can often be cute, but what started as an endearing thing has quickly morphed into how she talks to me 95% of the time.

She didn't talk like this when we met. It's a recent development.

It's hard to get in the bedroom mood when she sounds five all the time.

So how can I fix this? I've tried talking to her about it, and she'll stop for a few days, but then it starts back up again!

  • Does anyone think Miss California is even pretty?

Even aside from her less-than-enlightened views, I don't think she's pretty at all. I know beauty is subjective, but she looks so... fake! From her fake tan to her fake boobs, nothing about her looks attractive to me.

How about you? Does she look to be the prettiest girl in California pageantry?

  • Why do anti-gay people always refer to us as "homosexuals"?

Why can't you just say "gay"? It's monosyllabic.

  • Why do anti-gay-marriage people care so much about this issue?

I'm not trying to start a crazy flame war or anything, I'm seriously just trying to understand. What stake do you have in whether or not gay people get married, and how do you think it will actually effect your life?

    Answers that don't count:

-Churches would have to marry gay people, which infringes freedom of religion. (Because churches wouldn't have to do that BECAUSE of freedom of religion)

-It's gross. (I think all kinds of things are gross. Like mustard. But I don't think it should be illegal.)

What makes you stand out in the freezing rain holding a "No gay marriage" sign for hours? What is your motivation?

  • Every time I dye my hair, it ends up feeling gunky. What is it and how do I avoid it?

I've been dying my hair for years now, but in the past year, every time I dye it, it's soft and silky for the first day, then after the first wash, it gets a strange almost waxy film over it that makes it look eternally dirty. I've used different brands of dye, different brands of shampoo in various combinations but I always get the film. The only thing that gets rid of it is, amazingly enough, powdered dishwasher detergent, but that has bleach and it strips away the dye. I just want to have bright, healthy hair!

  • Is there a way to get off the blood-donor blacklist?

My best friend wants to donate plasma, but a couple years ago he had a FALSE HIV test. He had antibodies for the disease, but not the disease itself. But he's been blacklisted anyway. Is there a way to get him off the blacklist so he can donate blood and plasma?
