So I'm writing a character with a heavy German background. He is an angel/demon, so he is immortal, but when he was human he was German. But as I worked out the timeline and his backstory, I realized a possible problem. When he was human, he would've been alive somewhere around 1500-1600s.

So my question is, what was Germany (or that area where Germany is located) like during that time? Was the German culture (the language, etc) alive back then, or should I bump his backstory up a century or two?

My friend and I are writing a book and we're thinking about having the protagonist die in the middle of the series then resurrecting about twenty chapters later. I'm writing a story and I need a character name:

- girl

- age is undecided

- she is a psychic

- she can control spirits

- kill people instantly

- communicate with dead

- CANNOT bring back the dead however

- hair changes color depending on energies in the room

I am looking for a name that isn't exotic but is still unique in a way (even if just the spelling is unique). If they can have a dark meaning to that would be great!

I've been taking violin lessons for like a week and one thing that stands out is how high pitched it is! I don't like that one little bit LOL. But anyways... I want to continue learning a strings instrument, so I was either thinking a cello or string bass, since they are deeper in tone. I also play bass clarinet so I prefer lower sounds. A few years ago I took violin lessons. Due to an injury in my hand I had to stop.
