I did a search of the web and came up with nothing. What I am looking for is a tool that allows me to connect to networks I see in the area, but also provide me with information on my current and prospective connections. Including my MAC, the AP's MAC, RSSI, max speed, and the channel. I would especially like the feature to choose which channel I connect on, as there are many access points broadcasting the same SSID on different channels, and for some reason I often connect to the furthest ones. Basically what I am looking for is a version of "inSSIDer" that let's me connect to whichever SSID on the channel I want. And obviously it would be for Windows 7... Thanks for the help!

I should explain a little... I work in an open building running tests on a computer. But the tests take time to complete, so I end up sitting around just reading a book or txting my friends until it completes. But yesterday I decided to use the open space to do some exercising, just some push-ups, sit-ups, and light yoga... But what other exercises can I do here? Particularly those that burn fat, or just strength builders (I swim when I get home from work).

Please note that I am not allowed to leave the building, I do not have anything that works good as weights, and I have about 50 sq. feet of room to exercise in. Thanks for any suggestions!

So me and my "best friend" have some history... We met 3 years ago when I transferred to this new school, where I was anti-social, and she being curious, transformed me over that time into what she calls me now the "social-butterfly" of our now big group of friends. From the beginning I liked her, and we've even gone on dates and stuff. I have asked her our 3 separate times, one for each year of high school (besides freshman, when I met her). The first time I wasn't really serious, I figured I didn't have anything to lose with her at the time, and I had never had a girlfriend before. She said no, and everything was fine. A year later, I realized how much I liked her, and I asked her out in a much more serious way. Once again she completely rejected me. This time I got mad, and started ignoring her and being mean to her for about a month, until we fixed things...

When we fixed things, she made it clear to me that "friends don't date friends", and from then one we were good; until summertime. During the summer, she would lead me on in ways that made me think that she was actually interested in me: she would sit in my lap by the pool, give me long hugs, and even jump up so I would have to carry her, things like that... It confused me so much, that I asked her out again. At first she didn't accept, but then her grandma, seeing how much we we're hanging out (both with our friends and alone together) gave her a box of condoms... We planned on using them, but thought better of it and decided not to. But afterwards, she told me that "you can be my boyfriend" and I was happy, yet the very next day, she said she couldn't go through with it. I spent the rest of summer and the first month of school trying to get her back, until she finally confronted me about what had happened: she missed a boy from school, who she loved (not MORE that me, but in a different way; "I love you like a brother"), and she used me to fill the gap where the other guy would have been, had he not been grounded all summer. This hurt me so bad that we started fighting all the time, and it became a common joke between our friends to guess why we were fighting THIS time... We weren't really friends for a while...

But a couple weeks ago, after all our friends were finally fed-up with our fighting, they recommended us to see a counselor... Which helped more than I thought it ever would. He helped us become friend again, and I have never been happier with her... I still like her, and maybe I always will, but now it doesn't cloud my judgement with her now. But just the other day, she asked me to go to prom with her, because she has been asking guy after guy, and they keep saying no. I knew she would use me as a fail-safe because I have the inability to say no to her... She says we can go only as friends and since she knows I don't like dances/dancing, she won't make me dance with her at prom... Except for maybe the popular dances like YMCA.

Sorry for the ridiculously long explanation... But now for my problem, I have already accepted and said I'll go with her, because all my friends have said I should. They have also been saying things like "this was meant to be" and "this is the chance you would have given anything for 3-4 months ago, why won't you take it now?" And I am going with her, but I'm a bit... Nervous, I guess. What's the worst that could happen, I mean really? I do see this as my opportunity, because she told me once "I had once thing on my Summer to-do list that I didn't get to complete, and that was getting a kiss from you". Over this year she has lost any chance she had with the other guy, so I'm, not sure what to do... Would kissing her make her realize that I'm the right one for her? Would it ruin our friendship? Or would it just be meaningless? I am so conflicted with this right now, I just don't know where to turn because all my friends are so biased...

If you have confusion with what I'm asking, I'm just asking whether I should try to kiss her, or anything that might bring us to a level of "more than friends". Thanks for any advice, sorry for the long read!

I got the N-Strike Recon CS-6 today, with a dart pack with 2 extra clips and extra darts. After a battle with my sisters, I realized I need more clips, but not more darts. The only place that sells JUST the clip is Amazon, but it is at the ridiculous price of $16.99. Where can I buy (multiple, 3+) JUST the clip for my gun? Online or in-store is OK, I just need to know where. Thanks for the help!

ALSO, the Hasbro website says it sells them for $4.99, which makes more sense. But I couldn't find those in their shop, and someone on Amazon wrote a review saying they "ran-out". Is there a different place they sell those from now?

I have a normal Surfboard from our ISP, and a good wireless router (Xirrus Array), but our router doesn't have DHCP, forcing us to get a separate router for the DHCP. We have a Linksys BEFSR41 router, and it is an old piece of CRAP. My dad had this thing for 5 years and it sucks! I have tried updating firmware (always fails no matter which version I upgrade to), opening ports, and all sorts of stuff, but I still have lots of problems with it. So, now I need a new one. I need suggestions on what router I can get with these requirements:

•Preferably non-wireless (cause I have wireless array already), or at least wireless can be disabled

•Works with the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo DS

•Allows iPhone apps like Remote and TouchMouse to work

•Good for a home (file-share) server

•MUST have DHCP

I would like some suggestions, right now I have nothing in mind, so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks for your suggestions! =)

Now I'm very smart with computers, but this one has kept evading me.... And for some reason Avast! hasn't been able to find it... I'll start from the "beginning". I'm sorry it's so long, there is a lot of necessary info (as all computer nerds know there has to be).

About 2 weeks ago, when I downloaded a program (it's use in not necessary) and after opening it I figured out almost immediately it was a virus. So quickly I deleted the file and the folder it created, emptied recycle bin, and used the System Restore to restore to a point 2 days earlier. After restarting, many programs started complaining about how the program wouldn't work anymore (they had been updated in that time, now they were "rolled back"). As well as some programs that had been uninstalled came back too. So I (stupidly) decided to ignore this for a while.

Later on, I noticed something was eating away at my processing power. I looked to see what it was, to strangely see an scvhost.exe costing about 115,000 mem and 97% process power. Of course, I killed the process. It's effect was that the entire start bar lost its color and reverted back to one row (I had it set at 2). Eventually it started back up, color came back, but I had to resize bar. It was only 87,000 and 0-5% afterwards. Less than 10 mins later, same thing happens, and same actions cause same result. I still do relatively nothing, as it is not really affecting anything. After I restarted again though, suddenly a few things happen: 1. My main browser (Google Chrome) flat out stops working, 2. (After making Safari my default browser to open links even) pop-up start opening to random sites that won't let me close them in Internet Explorer (without my permission, random intervals), 3. avast! started saying svchost.exe is infected; says every ~10 mins, each time a different svchost.exe (different folders), and 4. even when in Safari it will randomly open links to random sites that don't close easily.

So I did a "scientific test": I closed all (unnecessary) process, and just waited. As soon as the first pop-up happened, I looked at the task manager. I found several entries for the process HL5SYlpd.exe, all varying with memory usage and process usage. So I wrote down the name of it, and closed down all entries. After the last one had been close, IE also closed down by itself. As well as no more pop-ups in Safari (when one did come up, I noticed the process started up again). So obviously I did a search looking for the file. After 30 mins of searching all my hard drives, nothing was found (searched for HL5SYlpd, not HL5SYlpd.exe) besides some .pf file.... So I told my antivirus (avast!) to do a full computer scan. I came up with some other "viruses", but not the one I was looking for. I deleted what it found, and hard-stopped the comp (as so they wouldn't re-root themselves somewhere).

Everything seemed fine when I rebooted... But eventually the pop-ups came back. And avast! keeps saying svchost.exe is infected (although not as often now). This is my present situation. The reason I'm on YA is 'cuz Googling "HL5SYlpd" or "HL5SYlpd.exe" came up with surprisingly 0 results. I desperately need help. From what I know, it's not doing anything TOO serious, but the pop-ups are very annoying. I REALLY appreciate anyone who can help with this! Thank you so much for help and contributions!

I need help with this. First off, I need an ISO that works, torrent or direct link is fine. What I am trying to do is make a Virtual Machine of Mac OS X, Snow Leopard. I am using VirtualBox OSE in Ubuntu Linux. I know the requirements. But what I need help with is getting it ready and how to install. preferably I would like an ISO that VirtualBox can just boot off of (last few I've downloaded haven't worked). Or even better, maybe theres an already set up hard drive I can download? Thanks for help!

OK, so I installed the ISO to a CD for Ubuntu 9.10, but now it won't install. even though I had previously had a successful installation not a day before. Now it won't install. Also, I'm trying to make it a dual-boot with Windows XP. And I think I know the problem; I've been installing and uninstalling Windows and Ubuntu multiple times because nothing has worked. So here's how it went.

1. Installed 2nd hard drive (hard drive A has 200 GB, hard drive B has 80GB and is the original)

2. Uninstalled Windows XP, reinstalled to hard drive A, making hdB the secondary drive

3. Formatted hdB with Windows to be NTFS

4. Installed Ubuntu to hdB, outside of Windows

5. Dual-boot didn't work, learned that dual-boot doesn't work on seperate hardrives

6. Disconnected hdB from motherboard

7. Uninstalled and reinstalled Windows to hdA, now the only hard drive

and now when I try to install can't find a hrd drive to install it to. Whne it gets to the part of the partition table, nothing shows up in the box at all. Then I tried installing it inside Windows, and it still wouldn't work. How can i set it up so that it will work, or what am I doing wrong? I'm downloading VM Ware Workstation, but I don't know what to do when the demo expires. Can somebody tell me one that will always be free, and in what way? Or, will the VM Ware still work when demo expires? Thanks for help! =)

I like Ubuntu 9.04 and decided to replace Windows with it on my Compaq Presario M2000 laptop computer. so far it has been great, but now I've run into the problem of the integrated wireless card won't work. It just says "Device Not Ready". How do I make it work? also, how can I make the USB's work, too? I plugged in a flash drive to see if it would work, and nothing even happened. If you have an answer to either of these questions, or have another post that might help, please post it. thanks you for your help! =)

What I mean is there a program that scans through all your listed programs, goes out on the internet, and checks for all the program's updates? That would be awesome... Doubt it DOES exist, but it would be cool to have. Better than a bunch of individual product updaters... Thanks for answers! =)

I don't think this need much more explanation... I don't know what my friend was doing, but he brought a smoke bomb and a lighter to school with him. And of course, he got ratted on by our other goodie-two-shoes friend.... Now he's suspended for 2 days and he has to go to court. He's not allowed on the computer anymore because of this this, and he wanted me to find out what could happen to him. So it was just possession, no planning or actually using them; Apparently he only wanted to show it to us.... So what is most likely to happen to him? I want it to be able to hit 100% notes on Expert. I know, I know, it's not fair, and I'm not going to use it for evil like taking down noobs and such. I just want to get THAT ONE FRIGGIN SONG OVER WITH SO I CAN GET AN ACHIEVEMENT!!!! Preferably, I would like it to work with all games, all Guitar Hero's, all Rock Band's, everything. Which is why I've decided to mod my Guitar Hero Les Paul controller for my Xbox 360, because it works with all the game I plan to use this mod with. How can I get it to work? Any tutorials? Here's the situation: I have a bet with my friend for $10 that I can make my pee turn blue. The thing is, I don't know how I'm going to do it.... A driving simulator. I'm talking ones that use real-life, street-legal cars. The ones that obey speed limits, speedometer only goes to 100 MPH or 120 MPH, and you can drive on freeways and streets. I don't care if it's free or if I have to pay, but does anyone know of a game like this? Where can I get it? Remember, must meet these requirements:

1. Real-life NORMAL street cars (Saturn, Chrysler, Honda)

2. Can drive in different environments (street, freeways, dirt roads)

3. Works with USB steering wheel (or not, if on Xbox 360)

4. Free hopefully, but don't mind if I have to pay.

Bear with me, this is a long question, but I really need help.

Here's a little background: when I switched schools, I met this girl (to make things easier, we'll call her Jane). We got along great, she introduced me to lots of new friends, and we've now known eachother for 10 months now. But recently, Jane got fed up with her other friends (besides me) and how they were constantly making fun of her and abusing her. So after a 2 hour phone call I had with her, I helped her forget her bad friends, and now we've totally deserted them. Now we're with a new group of friends. Which leads us to my problem.

Me an Jane both went on our first dates with eachother about a month ago. We haven't done anything since then, just hang out at school. But I finally got up the courage to ask her out on a date. Sadly, when I did, she said "I'll have to think about it for a while." Later that day, she txted me back "I would love to accept, but some one already asked me out." And Now I find out its one of our new friends.

My problem is that, I knew I could handle rejection; but that's not the case right now. When she told me that, I felt jealous. And I'm NEVER jealous of anything or anyone. And this is like, serious jealousy..... What should I do? I really like Jane but now she's with this guy that I just met and don't really know.... I can't go back to my old friends, they all hate me now, but I don't want to see the girl I like with a guy I'm not really sure I like yet..... Any suggestions?
