I don't want to go into specifics, but I'm planning out a novel that has a lot of weird religious ideas in it. I'm struggling over the most important plot point though. The main character has to be given an objective directly from heaven that he needs to ck sports within 30 days in order to prove that he deserves to go to heaven. I want his objective to be something difficult and shocking that you wouldn't expect angels to tell him to do. Do you have any ideas?

What do I do to fix it?

It's the only type of hip hop I ever listen to and I freaking love it. Everyone just wanted to have a good time and they didn't rap about money and drus in every single song. I want to make an album that captures the old school feel and has the old school run dmc/ beastie boys style of rapping. I also have this idea of it being a concept album that takes place after the apocalypse 100 years from now. It's about a kid who discovers hip hop and ancient records from our century and he uses them to make music to cheer people up because of how cr*ppy the future is. If I actually make this I'll even get into character and dress up as the kid. Do you think something like this would be popular?

I don't know anything about rap or hip hop an I feel like that's one of the reasons why I have trouble connecting with other kids, especially with other black kids. So I want to listen to every popular rap album from the last 30 years by the end of the summer. Do you think it's possible or is it just a crazy idea?

I made a lot of bad choices because of my anxiety. Prom tickets went on sale at my school this week (yesterday and today). For some reason I waited until this week to finally try and ask people to go with me. There's a girl I've been interested in for a while and I was going to ask her on Monday, but then like 5 minutes before I was going to ask her she told someone that she isn't going to prom. Her parents are going to make her pay rent after he graduates and she wants to save money for that. I thought it was pointless to ask we after hearing that but now I think I should've tried anyway just to see if I could change her mind. I had a backup girl in mind, but I didn't even work up the nerve to talk to her yesterday. I feel so useless.

I'm not really close with anyone so I can't "go with friends". I didn't pay for a limo or tux yet, but my mom already gave me the money for the ticket to buy it today. I didn't get to go on the senior trip or do any senior related stuff, so I at least wanted to have this. I don't know what to do. I guess I could ask this guy who's in the honors program with me if I could go with him and his friends, but I don't want to feel like a charity case and I'm pretty sure I'd end up feeling lonely because nobody would talk to me. The only other choice I have is to make up an excuse to my mom about why I couldn't get a ticket. But then I might regret not going at all. This sucks. What should I do?

I've been accepted to 8 schools, the two cheapest schools that also happen to be in the city are Hunter college and Baruch. Baruch allegedly has nicer buildings and a better reputation, but it feels too serious and if I go there I'll have to major in information systems (which I don't care about at all). Hunter has the degree I'm going to get (computer science), feels more friendly and has more students. It's also cheaper. So which school is a better choice?

So anyway, today we had a sub in one of our classes and she was sitting next to me. She asked why I didn't go in the senior trip last week and then after that she asked if I was going to prom. She brought that up again later when she was talking to some other girls.

Isn't this conversation kind of weird? We pretty much never talk to each other, yet she noticed that I wasn't on the trip and she really wants me to go to prom. There are 900 seniors in our school, so it's weird that she'd notice that I wasn't there. And she still has a boyfriend, so I don't know why she was so interested in me going. Am I over analyzing this? What do you think?

I've been playing guitar on and for four years now and I can't play any songs all the way through. Throughout my entire life I've wanted to be a great guitarist, but I suck so much that it's so discouraging and I have no idea what I should focus on to get better. My lack of knowledge also leads me to procrastinate on practicing and I end up not doing it much. How do I become a rock god like jimmy page, slash or Eddie Van Halen?

I really want to be in a band. Even though I suck at playing guitar, I'm always coming up with songs in my head that I'm not able to play yet. I can't really think of any bands that make songs similar to the ones in my head. The guitars are distorted and aggressive, yet melodic, the drumming is erratic yet somehow tight and it kind of reminds me of factory machinery banging. The vocals are full of energy and kind of hypnotic. It's like punk, old school heavy metal and grunge had a baby. Is there a name for this kind of music? I don't think I explained it well. How would I go about making music like this? As I said before, I suck at guitar. I'm good at singing though.

It seems like the majority of bands here just play boring soft indie pop stuff. I'm not looking for stuff as heavy as black metal, but I like music to have some grit. What are some new bands in nyc that have a lot of raw energy? I want to go to more shows.

The only other band I've found that that made music with a similar sound is the Osmonds. Does nobody make music that sounds like these two songs?

I have an afro that's about 3 inches long. My parents keep saying that I should get a haircut, but I like having longer hair. One hairstyle that's looked cool to me for a while now is the pompadour. Really want one, but it looks like you need straight hair for that. I'm pretty sure my parents would flip out even more if I straightened my hair, plus I don't know how well that would turn out.
