I got a turntable for christmas, and after getting awful sound from plugging it into the phone L&R ports on the back of my hifi amplifier I found out that it needs to have RCA cables in the output sockets on the back go into a line-lead socket i.e. Aux or 'Tape'.

So I bought an RCA to line-in cable (the one with 2 leads at one end -left and right/red and white -, and one at the other) - but looking now I see our old 1997 model hifi amplifier has both L and R line-in sockets, but no single one or aux socket. Can I put the red and white RCA leads into these Line-In ports, and basically just reverse them so as to put the line-in/aux end of the lead into the one on the turntable, or will that just give me a bad result? I'm new to this, and it would be annoying to have bought the cable for nothing, but i'd rather get it right than risk destroying the amp, speakers or turntables. Cheers

Ive downloaded about 50 different apps and all have been awful. I need to burn my wedding video easily onto a universal DVD format. I don't want anything too flashy, just a menu background, music and my video - without a watermark. It also needs to have a built-in codec convertor or be able to handle .MOV files.

As far as i know iDVD is the only program that does this effectively, but i cant seem to get hold of it anywhere.

Is there a way to compare stats of weapons and armour when you are creating new ones at the smithy? Don't want to waste my metal and cloth etc on a piece of equipment worse than I am already using? Also, I'm worried about accidentally selling equipment being used by me or my party. Do equipped armour and weapons simply not show up in the sell menu?

Okay Rush fans, im going to be married soon, and while my girlfriend an her family aren't really Rush savvy, she has said I can play a Rush song or two for our wedding "disco" - but which Rush songs, objectively, are the most accessible and 'dance friendly' for a party full of Rush laymen? I suggested Time Stand Still as it is upbeat and has a good tempo. She preferred Spirit of Radio which I think is a little more repetitive. Suggestions?

Hi guys, so i've been struggling, and am a complete n00b when it comes to CMYK printing. I just drew a pic IN CMYK, but when i viewed it online it showed up in bright saturated colours, obviously because of differences in colour profiles or whatever. Not knowing what i'm doing I looked it up online and found that i could preview cmyk colours in Photoshop, (show Proof) but it didn't make any difference; still looked the same... except when viewing it online. In the end I had to just convert the thing back to RGB to get the colours I need, which isn't ideal for printing. But it saved me having to completely re-do the whole thing.

Where am I going wrong, guys? How do i set up the document in order to be able to both preview, and convert/print CMYK. Should I draw it in RGB and then convert to CMYK? Should I set up a colour profile when creating a document? Anyone who can explain the process and the best way to do this will be a lifesaver and spare me a lot of grief.

We have a radiator in every room of our two bedroom top-floor flat and yet no matter wht we do it just doesnt seem to get any warmer. Thermostat is at 25 and most radiators are at either 5 or 6. Unfortunately as we are renting we cannot put in more, and the radiators have recently been bled but they barely heat anywhere past 2 feet away. The lounge is the biggest room and hardest to heat, but the others seem just as useless. Advice?

I just sent my Samsung Galaxy W to be repaired because of massive power drains. Apparently it is due to the battery being swollen, and it will cost £47 to repair. Is this a common problem, and can I simply get them to send it back unrepaired and just buy a new battery?

We have an electric oven and I am hoping to broil some chicken for a nice recipe I found. The oven doesn't seem to have a broil function, just a fan-assisted cooker and a grill function (a top line with a zig-zag grill icon beneath). Is it okay to broil with that? Does it have to be set at a specific temperature to count as broiling or should i turn my heat all the way up?

It seems to have an hdmi port, but i dont think my xbox has an hdmi socket... so what are my opions? It looks as though i can get a scart adapter,but does that mean i cant get hd? is there some kind of blue-green-red >hdmi or scart adaptor? Thanks guys...

For those of you that have Prometheus on Blu-Ray (there must be some of you that like it) are the advertised "alternative beginning and end" actually in the film like an extended cut? Or are they just accessible as special features? Do they clarify anything or improve the story?

Nothing too ridiculously "house", but I am looking for songs with a real electronic sound. Some examples of things I like are the odd songs such as Lo Fi Epic:Techno Madness Mix by Jesse Allen (from Mass Effect 2), Air War by Crystal Castles, Clubbed to Death by Rob Dougan, Confusion (Pump Panel Remix) by New Order, or artists such as Ladytron, Infected Mushroom, The Knife, Curve, and anything that sounds like the Tron Legacy soundtrack. Also up for songs with lyrics like Charli XCX or a dubstep edge like Alex Clare.

By that i mean big classic Sci Fi action/adventure films preferably set on another planet. Mainly looking for things like Star Wars, Avatar, and John Carter. I am also open to films with a more action-based theme such as Total Recall, The Fifth Element, Starship Troopers and Aliens, but more adventure based stories are what i'm ideally looking for.

I am trying to set up some basic triggers such as physics events etc but when i test them they don't seem to do anything. I set a trigger area, a physics event on hit, and a target from the physics event. Shouldn't that cause my object to drop? how exactly do i make this work?

I'm trying to do some mild research on animals or insects that live in Symbiotic Relationships. Can anyone tell me any documentaries that have covered this? I am looking for something easy to find like say, Attenborough's Planet Earth or similar shows.

Did Katniss know the mines were planted around the big pile of bags? Did she mean to blow it up, or was she trying to find some food? If she meant to blow it up, why the big tension about shooting the bag when she could have just fired at the mines or thrown a rock or something? If she was trying to get the apples why bother shooting the bag at all? Why not just make a run for it when that guy was distracted?

Every now and then i look at my 'top 25 most played' and find iTunes has put a play count of about 800 on about 30 songs that i clearly haven't listened to so many times. Sometimes it happens to new songs that have only had 1 or 2 plays so i know its not somehow syncing up with my ipod's play count. I don't like having to keep resetting my play counts, is there some kind of patch or cure for this? Is there any reason to think updating iTunes will fix it?

Does anyone know where i can find online a copy of the final draft or shooting draft of the script for Jurassic Park? I don't want an early or revised draft, i'm looking for the nearest script to the final film (that isn't a transcript).
