I'm from a small town in the United States. A little out of place because I feel like the only person in town who isn't straight (I'm bisexual). I also think I'm the only atheist in a mostly very religious family.
Responsibilities as godmother?
I was just asked to be the godmother for my cousin's daughter. Can anyone tell me of any specific responsibilities the godmother has? Also, is there any specific baptismal gift that generally comes from the godmother? Thank you.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoPsychology question - what is the effect of a new baby in the house on the father?
How could it effect his behavior? Especially if he felt jealous of the attention the baby receives.
2 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoDoes anyone know how to go about getting a book published?
A friend has a book he'd like to get published and he'd like to submit it to a bigger publishing company like Doubleday or Random House. Any advice on how to go about it? Thanks!
2 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoAtheists - do you ever go to church or to church events (like fundraisers)?
If so, why?
Just curious to see if there are any other atheists that do.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoctor Who/Torchwood - does anyone know why Jack is keeping the Doctor's hand?
I've only seen a couple of episodes of Doctor Who - it's spinoff has got me interested. It's been bugging me why Jack cares so much about the Doctor's hand that he keeps it around in a jar and would be more concerned about it than a murdering alien getting away.
2 AnswersDrama1 decade agoWhat happened in the last ten minutes of Saving Grace?
We had thunderstorms here last night and a lot of channels were kicked off for awhile and I missed the last ten minutes - can anyone tell me what I missed? Thank you!
3 AnswersDrama1 decade agoWho's talking about leaving The View now?
I didn't quite catch what they were saying on E!. Something about one of the women talking about leaving because of Elizabeth. Does anybody know what that was about?
4 AnswersTalk Shows1 decade agoWhat exactly is a Corinthian - in relation to Regency England?
I have read a few books set in Regency England that have described a (male) character as a Corinthian - what exactly does that mean? Is it simply that he's athletic?
3 AnswersHistory1 decade agoFriday night fish fry? Are there places other than the Midwest that have something like it?
I live in northern minnesota and there are a number of places here that have a Friday fish fry. It's all you can eat with cole slaw/salad and your choice of potato (baked, french fries). I was wondering if other places have it or something similar to it and any variations to it. In my particular area the fish is usually walleye (a local favorite).
5 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoWhy does it say "Pace" on some rainbow flags?
I've seen it a few times, but I'm really curious now after seeing it again on Logo.
3 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoLittle House on the Prairie - why were they in Anoka?
I've been watching the reruns lately and it's been bugging me. I don't remember why they were in Anoka (at least I think that's the city's name). It's where they met Albert. Caroline cooked for a hotel there. Mrs. Garvey taught at the school there. The Olsens were also there. I just can't remember why they were there in the first place.
2 AnswersDrama1 decade agoOnline advertising (the kind with a moving picture) - annoy or enjoy?
Do you think it's annoying to see the moving advertisements or do you like them? Personally, I think they can be cool. But, it's annoying to see them while I'm trying to read an article.

I've seen it in this section several times, but I have no idea what it's supposed to be.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoGay Christians - how do you reconcile you're faith with your sexuality?
I'm just curious. I'm bisexual and an atheist. I became an atheist before I realized I was bisexual, so I never really had a problem with that myself. I also figure that if God were real, He made me this way so how could He have a problem with it?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAnyone watch the new show, Jekyll on the BBC? What do you think of it?
I think it's rather interesting. A new twist on it.
3 AnswersDrama1 decade agoWasn't The Nine cancelled?
I thought it was, but it was supposed to be on last night. Most of it was (quite rightfully) pre-empted here for coverage on the bridge collapse in Minneapolis. Anyway, are they just showing the rest of the season's episodes or is it coming back for another season?
3 AnswersDrama1 decade agoDoes anyone know when GLBT became LGBT?
Just curious.
14 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoDo you think the LGBT community should be allowed to serve openly in the military?
According to The Advocate, 65,000 gay and lesbian soldiers are now serving in the military and a recent Zogby International poll states that 73% of American service members are comfortable serving with openly gay colleagues.
