  • How is my photography?

I am a freshman in college and have been doing photography with a dslr since I was 15. I recently begun my journey with street photography and am really enjoying it, even though it is difficult to get an interesting shot with a person actually in focus. Here is my flickr account and I'd love to hear your opinions on my photography.

  • should I not use bare minerals?

So I put on moisturizer (I use cera-ve and I don't think it moisturizes that well but whatever) and then I put on smashbox primer and then bare minerals ready foundation. I use a flat top kabuki to put it on. I have kinda dry skin but around my nose and chin and upper forehead near my hairline I tend to get kinda sweaty and I don't really know why lol. Anyways, the rest of my skin is dry and I feel like the bare minerals makes my face look powdery and sticks to dry parts of my skin or dried, healing acne on my face which is really unattractive. What should I do? Am I using it wrong? I've tried liquid foundations before but I am just not a fan. Bare minerals is so much easier to put on and there are no streaks or anything and it is not as messy.

  • How long does it take Stila to ship products?

I really want this smudge crayon eyeliner/eyeshadow thing in navy blue. They sell them at ulta for $22 but on their site they are only $16 and I heard that navy blue eyeliner looks good on light blue eyes. ANYWAYS, I was wondering how long it will take stila to ship their product to my house because in exactly 1 week from today I will be going back to college. I'm worried that if I ship it to my college, it will arrive too early and maybe the mailroom won't store it or something bad will happen to it but if I ship it to my house I'm scared it won't get here before i go home. Any thoughts?

Also, do you think that the $16 is a waste of money? I have another color of that product and I love it but I just don't like to spend money.

  • Do I exercise enough?

I'm an 18 year old girl. I feel like I'm really out of shape and I'm trying to actually exercise lol. So here is what I try to do everyday:

I like to do crunches or planks (when I do planks I shift my butt/hips side to side cuz i saw it in a video lol) whenever I can whether it be before I go to bed, while I'm watching tv, etc. Maybe in 1 day I do like 30-50. Depends on the day though.

Later in the day, around after dinner, I try to play tennis for at least 30 minutes, but once I start I like getting really sweaty so I try to keep going as long as my teammate will let me because it makes me feel strong!!!!!! Sometimes if they quite I run around the tennis court once. It is rare that I play tennis everyday though because sometimes I'm busy and sometimes my mom won't feel up to it (my mom is my teammate lol).

anyways, is that ok for exercise? I really want a flat stomach but I don't want to hurt my back (it hurts my back when I lie on my back and raise my legs up and down) and my mom said running is bad for your knees so I don't really know what to do....

  • How can I motivate myself to exercise?

So I'm heading to college in a week and I really need to get in shape. I'm naturally thin, kinda, but I do want my stomach flatter and I know I have to exercise. The only thing I can motivate myself to do is crunches, just cuz I can do them anytime and can even do them while watching TV. Honestly, I barely exercise. I find it impressive if I run around the block once a month...yeah I know I suck.

Anyways, I really want to start running but everytime I do, I just feel stupid and out of breath and also lonely cuz no one else in my family will go running with me. Anyways, I just can't get myself off the couch to run. Can someone help me and tell me how to make myself get off my feet and stop being so freaking lazy!

  • I don't like how my stomach looks but everyone tells me I'm skinny?

So I'm 18 and I'm heading off to college soon.

I'm 5ft 3in 108 pounds. Everyone always tells me I'm so skinny but I don't believe them. I know 108 sounds like a low weight but I think it is just cuz my butt and boobs are tiny, which therefore makes my stomach look bigger. I feel like I don't look that bad when I stand up, but when I sit down or lean over, I have so many rolls and I feel like a fat gross person. it's really upsetting also cuz I got some crop tops and now I'm just too self conscious to wear them. I've never had a boyfriend or anything and I feel like my body is not attractive at all so I won't get a boyfriend in college either. I've been trying to do a bunch of ab exercises lately but it doesn't fix my rolls. And I really want to just have a more feminine curvy figure. :(

  • Worried about using the bathrooms at college!!?

I'm a girl and I'm starting my freshman year in college in a week and I'm all excited and everything except for one thing.........taking a number 2 at college. Even when I travel or if I am in a new place or someone is close to the bathroom, I literally get all constipated and can't go. I'm so nervous for college because i don't want the bathroom to smell really bad cuz of me and I wanna be able to go easily and not sit there forever and I don't want people around me either. Yeah I sound stupid that I'm scared about this but seriously people, this is like my number 1 fear. A fear of the number 2. Damn that was a good line haha

  • My first time going to the gyno. I'm really nervous!?

So I'm 18 and I literally just started to get my period in the middle of my senior year in high school. Anyways, my mom thought it would be a good idea that I would go to the gyno before I head off to college. First off, I might not even end up going because the day she scheduled it was the day that I will probably be starting my period. But ANYWAYS, I'm really nervous about what they are going to do. I'm gonna feel really uncomfortable with someone's fingers up there poking around and it is going to feel weird. Also, I'm worried because I usually have a lot of discharge that is really thick and globby and I don't want it like falling out of me (that was gross, sorry). Anyways, can someone help ease my nerves about this and tell me what is going to happen?

Also, should I mention that my periods are always really thick and globby and like never watery cuz it makes it difficult to use a tampon because the globs don't absorb and therefore I end up leaking all over my underwear.

Just to clarify, this is a 2 part answer. Thanks!

  • eyeliner colors that bring out blue eyes?

so yeah, I have blue eyes. lol I usually go for a natural look (well not natural cuz I like wearing darker eyeshadows in the browns, grays, and black shades because they make my eye color pop. but it isn't fair that those with brown eyes get to have all the fun! they get to wear turquoise and purple and stuff and I feel like that wouldn't look good on me. also, I don't want to look tacky and unnatural. any help? I've seen people put a color on their waterline but I don't wanna go out and buy something and then not use it because I really hate wasting money and a product.

  • makeup in a college dorm room...?

hey guys so I'm entering my freshman year in college this fall. I really like makeup. I have a good amount, but not like A TON like what you see on youtube. In fact, no where close to that. Well I guess the amount doesn't really matter. It is just that I spend like 20-30 minutes on my makeup every morning and I'm worried that my roommate doesn't wear makeup and she will think I'm weird. lol I know this is kind of stupid but I don't know what to do. I also feel uncomfortable when people see me putting on makeup.

  • Are face primers REALLY necessary?

I really hate spending money on stuff that I don't need, and primers are really expensive. I'm just wondering if they are actually necessary. Do they help for the summer when you are sweating because I have a problem because when I sweat my face makeup gets all wet and, especially between the nose and upper lip area and I have to like pat it down lol.

i also have kind of red skin, does the smashbox green primer ACTUALLY reduce the redness? I dont want to look green...

  • I need help with skincare please! :)?

    Hi,

So I have fair, kinda sensitive, sometimes dry, sometimes oily (in some parts of my face) skin. I guess I have combination skin...I don't know lol.

Anyways, so I have had redness on my left cheek and on the bottom part of my cheek there is this red circle which has these little red bumps. I thought they were acne and I tried squeezing them but nothing came out. I've had this problem like all year.

I went to the dermatologist about 6 months ago for both that and the small amount of acne I have on my forehead and other places, and her recommended Aczone which is just this gel that you put on it. I've been using that on pimples and the red bumps, but it doesn't work!

He told me though that redness will never go away, which sounds crazy.

Well here is my skin routine right now to get rid of pimples and stuff and that freaking red circle!

-remove all of my makeup with neutrogena eye makeup remover.

-use purity cleanser on my face.

-take aveeno clear complexion cleanser with the olay pro x face brush and brush my face with that.

-then I apply aczone where needed.

-I use divine oil by caudalie on my face (this is recent, I WAS using cera ve moisturizer)

anyways, I just need help with getting rid of that cluster of whatever it is. could you tell me what it is? it doesn't itch or burn or anything. but when i cleanse it with a brush, it can feel irritated, but i'm just trying to brush the bumps away if that makes sense because I don't know how to get rid of them.

sorry this was a long message :(

  • How can I get a date to the SENIOR PROM?

So I'm going to senior prom for sure with my friends! At the beginning of senior year, we made a pact that we would all go to prom together whether we had dates or not. In my group of friends, it is all girls. So I don't have any guy friends nor have I ever had a boyfriend. Now, some of my friends are getting dates. One has one that she met from camp, the other one is going to ask someone in her band class, another is going to ask a guy friend she has at work, and I don't know about the few others that are going. Anyways, right now I feel like a third wheel because I don't have a job yet and overall, I just don't have guy friends. I was thinking about asking this guy that I met at this camp I went to last summer, but we weren't really friends but we talked a little bit because he was in my classes. He is just really cute! lol but he lives 3 hours from me and I don't know if he has a girlfriend or if i am gonna get rejected, or even where he would stay because prom ends really late obviously. Anyways, I just don't wanna be a third wheel and I'm gonna be all akaward during slow songs and stuff and all my friends are gonna be dancing with their dates and I'm just gonna be alone. I don't know what to do because I'm kinda shy around people I don't know well and I don't have any guy friends I can just casually ask. And I kinda wanna be asked to prom. :( Please help!! This whole prom thing is just getting me upset, when it should be getting me excited!

  • why do so many people hate anne hathaway?

so im just wondering because i don't see why people have to be haters. If you hate a her in a movie, it might be the movie you hate, not her. It is hot her fault what her script had her say and do. Also, she is absolutely gorgeous and I'm so jealous! honestly, i think people are haters cuz they are jealous, and they just are too bored with their lives so they start to bully someone and make up as many stupid insults as they can. i think she is a great actress and pretty and adorable :). i really don't see any reason for everyone's insults. i think it is just mean. :(

  • tarte cosmetics! never tried them before. help!?

so i was on youtube and someone said they got something off QVC and it looks like a really good deal (except that the foundation included only comes in medium and up for shades, and i have fair skin so i won't be getting the thing sadly...)anyways.....in the kit it had a brush that it comes with.

    http://tartecosmetics.com/tarte-item-airbrush-fini...

that brush looks so good! i've only applied foundation with an ulta beauty blender thing but i feel like a brush would make it more flawless. idk what an "airbrushed" makeup look means (could you let me know what it means lol) but apparently the brush gives you that. however, it is $32. which is a lot of money $$$$$$. does anyone know of a good brush that will give the same results for less? or do you think the brush will look streaky or something. cuz i find that whenever i apply liquid foundation with my fingers or even with this stippling flat kabuki brush type thing, it looked streaky and stuff. why can't i make foundation look flaweless. anyways....help!!

oh, im 17, dry skin, sensitive skin with some acne and i have the revlon colorstay foundation

  • what kind of brush is best for applying liquid foundation?

which kind will not look cakey, will give even coverage, coverage to the fullest, just look flawless and natural???

there seems to be so many types but i feel on youtube, the camera makes it look better and more natural than it actually looks because i try the stuff at home and mine doesn't look the same as theirs like AT ALL! :(

so anyways, which is the best way and why?

    stippling brush?

    flat brush?

    flat top kabuki brush?

    fluffy dense kabuki brush?

    fingers?

    normal drugstore sponges?

beauty blender or beauty blender dupe?

  • do a lot of girls in high school have a lot of makeup?

im a senior in high school. i like makeup and i wear the whole thing everyday (foundation, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick, etc) and not many people in my high school do that, in my opinion. if they don't really wear makeup to school, does that mean they have no makeup collection at home, not even a small amount? i feel like im the only one that has a good amount of makeup at home. i don't have like A LOT of makeup lol, but i have more that i really need. like i have a couple eyeshadow palettes, 10 lipsticks, and stuff like that.
