Unlocked Iphone use in the US?
Right so i've got an unlocked iphone 4 which i'm using in Ireland. I use it 'pay as you go', by topping up by €20 every thirty days I get unlimited text messages, unlimited weekend calls and 100mb downloads, further I use an option of buying 500mb downloads for €5 (which comes out of the original €20 top up).
This pretty much suits me down to the ground.
I'll be moving over to the states in a couple of months, either DC or New York, and i'll looking for a non contract sim only deal similar to the one described above preferably with a provider with a 3G network so I can use my iphone in the US.
I've browsed around a little and the only set up I can find similar to my current one is with T-Mobile
http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/plans/prepaid-plans.a...
But thats absurdly expensive.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

2 AnswersOther - Spain1 decade agoHow does a TD get suspended from the Dail?
I mean permanently not for a debate, is that possible?
Government and Green Party TD Paul Gogarty told Labour Party TD Emmet Stagg - "F**K YOU, Deputy Stagg, F**K YOU"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkJLWx6H7Gs
Shouldn't he be suspended?
I find Deputy Gogarty particularly repugnant, if you didn't know he was in government you'd swear he was in opposition by the speeches he makes, no pun intended.

Men at some universities in Ireland and the UK don't wear mortarboards when wearing academic attire, like University College and Trinity College in Dublin and St. Andrews (i think).
Rumour has it that tradition started to protest women being allowed to matriculate. Is that true? does anyone have any evidence?

There's no name on the door just a carving of a snail, it's on Fade Street opposite The Market Bar and above L'Gueuleton restaurant.

4 AnswersDublin1 decade agoWhats the name of that restaurant that allows you to bring your own wine on Lesson Street, Dublin?
I read an article about it a few weeks ago it's on Upper Lesson Street next to a wine shop. You can bring your own booze with no extra charge so you don't have to face the horrendous mark up on restaurant wine.
3 AnswersDublin1 decade agoWhy is the planned Dublin Metro not using the 1,600 mm Standard Irish Rail Gauge?
Plans for both the Dublin Metro lines (North and West) say that a gauge of 1,435 mm will be used rather than the standard Irish Gauge of 1,600 mm that is used in all other rail lines in Ireland (apart from the Luas). Surely this limits any future potential interoperability between the metro and the existing rail services (commuter, DART etc).
Also what is the sense in introducing yet another public transport operator into the city? Would it not make more sense to have the metro operated by DART rather than have two heavy rail passenger services with different ticketing systems?
As it stands we'll have to deal with four ticketing systems with Dublin Bus, Luas, Dart and now Metro.
2 AnswersDublin1 decade agoI'd like to go to Brazil to learn Portuguese for about 9 months, I need a few pointers.?
Hello, I'm Irish and I want to learn the Portuguese language but I figure the only way to really get to grips with it is to jump right in the deep end. So i'm interested in moving out to Brazil for about 9 months. While i'm there i'll be taking language classes etc but I need something else to do. I figure it would be hard to find a job for a non fluent speaker for such a short period of time so really i'm looking to volunteer my time.
Do you Brazilian people have any ideas? I imagine some charity work but i'll pretty much do anything. Any where in the country.
I know that's a big ask as its an enormous country but if you could point me in the right direction that would be great.
Thanks in advance.
