So far, all I have is Ohio State University and University of Toledo. Does anyone know of any other good M.A. programs for community counseling, marriage and family therapy or other therapy/counseling programs?

I'm planning to apply to Ohio State University and University of Toledo for graduate school. I intend to study something in counseling. I fish around on their websites but I can't find a definite answer as to when the deadlines are. I saw somewhere that December 1 is the deadline but I'm not sure. Help!

This is my situation:

I recently transferred from nursing to psychology and I am on time in terms of finishing requirements. My gpa is 3.1 because the nursing classes dragged me down. They were all c's since I hated nursing. I transferred into psych and now my classes are mostly A's with a B or two. I have one more semester to finish but I was wondering, is it possible to get into a counseling psychology graduate program with a low gpa?

Some other things to consider:

no research experience because of transferring so late (junior year)

haven't taken the GRE yet (what score would generally be considered "good"?)

I transferred because I was doing nursing for my parents and realized that psychology is my passion.

Can you give me any advice in general for applying to graduate school? like what may have worked for you?

I would like to know: I understand the allure of beyonce and britney spears but 1. do you guys take girls seriously when they walk around half naked? The inspiration for the question came from beyonce's "run the world". I thought it was a pathetic attempt at girl power. The women undulate behind beyone dressed as prostitutes and proclaim that they are worthy of respect.

I am wondering because I said, in my ethnic studies class, how it was absurd that women expect men to take them seriously when they are walking around in skimpy outfits. How can anyone focus when your cleavage is so apparent? The male teacher was offended by my question, haha, and responded that women have freedom of expression. I should note that a guy agreed with me in that class.

That's the first question.

2. The second is, what is your definition of a prude? Is it a girl who has self-respect and won't sleep around or is it something else?

3. Third question: why do guys criticize girls if they have strict morals while looking down on those who are loose with their morals?

I have a hunch that those types of males don't hold women in high regard in general.

I always thought men had strange reactions toward women, then again im not a man so I don't fully understand the motives.

4. Last question: What traits do men respect in a woman?

I should warn you that "sandwich making" has been used to death. With that said, I won't mind such a response because I'll be able to sort out the men from the boys much easier.

I read the book. It wasn't a page turner for me but I recognize the merit of its publication. I feel like something deeper is going over my head. I'm probably going to read the cliff notes to examine theme and symbolism but I also felt like I was waiting for a proper resolution besides the priest dying and what was the deal with the ex-husband mentally torturing the priest? The concepts seemed a bit foggy to me. I still liked it. I will probably reread it a few years later, when my mind has developed a bit more.

My main concern is: What did you get out of the book?

Why is it a classic? My sister read it and said it was pure nonsense. Something about a teen boy who swears a lot and gets with a prostitute, no substantial plot. I wanted to read but after that review, I probably won't. However, the question still lingers in my mind. Why is it a classic?

Before you get worked up, allow me to explain. My cousin asked for any recommendations I could remember so she could recommend those books to her acquaintance who loves to read but has some racist tendencies. Essentially, she is trying to hint to her friend that it's wrong. All I was able to tell her was Kindred by Octavia Butler and To Kill a Mockingbird. Both books I highly recommend to anyone. I guess the theme would be more anti-racism now that I think about it. So, don't hold back. Make long lists if you have to. Thanks in advance.

This is my second ramadan as a revert and I want to know: if I miss the opportunity to make up previous days missed, is my fast in ramadan still valid? Can I just make up the days missed from last year after Ramadan?

I'm have to read three books over the summer for A.P. Language Arts and this is one of them...I read it and I couldn't understand it....what is the book about?

I want to reread it through a new perspective....but I have no idea what they're talking about....

i like history and writing and i also like chemistry...and my default career is to be a registered nurse...but i haven't found a career that i really love...i always look at the salary...i want to be able to support myself so i don't have to depend on anyone...but im afraid that i'll be miserable as a registered nurse...

and one more thing...can you become a nurse without taking medical classes in high school and taking them at college?
