So, uh, I'm Tess. Hi!

  • What will my tattoo be like after my infection?

I got a tattoo this past Wednesday, and yesterday I noticed that it was oozing, severely red and hot to the touch. I went to the doctor, who said that I have a skin infection--he gave me some antibiotics to kick it, which I started taking yesterday and will continue taking for 10 days. Today it's much, much less red and it stopped oozing, but now almost the whole tattoo is covered with greenish scabs. I'm not really worried about my health, since I do have the antibiotics for it and the doc didn't seem too concerned. My question is, how do you think the tattoo will look after it heals up in a week or two? Does anybody have experience with this, and had their tattoo turn out like crap? I'm just really hoping that after this whole experience it will look ok. Thanks for your help!

  • I'm not quite sure what to do with this goldfish...?

Hello, everyone! So, early tonight I was at a friend's party, and he was giving goldfish in little vases away as favors. I got really excited and took one home, but I am not realizing that it was probably not such a fantastic idea.

Still in my excited I-have-a-fish-woohoo! state, I went to Wal-mart (I had a gift-card) and bought a "starters kit" that included a 1-gallon bowl, some gravel, a little plastic planty-dealio, water treatment pellets, and some food. Convinced that I was now a valid fish-owner, once I got home I moved my little fishy into his (presumably it's a he, I honestly have no freaking clue) new bowl and thought he would live a happy little fishy life.

About two hours ago, I got curious about how long goldfish lived, so I googled it. Not only did I find out that they can live 20 years if well-cared-for, I also read that leaving Nirschl (my fish's name--don't ask) in a gallon bowl is considered animal cruelty by many, and that to properly raise little Nirschl I need a 20-gallon tank, a filter, an aerator, gravel, plants, decorations, lots of water treatment supplies, and the works.

I realize now that instead of just being all enthusiastic about actually having a pet, I should have done some research first and understood that I am dealing with a living being that should not be neglected. I am a poor college student with a tiny dorm that probably couldn't fit a 20-gallon aquarium even if I could afford one (which I can't when all the accessories are factored in). I know the friend that I got Nirschl from was just planning on keeping the fish in bowls, so I don't want to give Nirschl back to him. I do have a friend with a koi fish pond, and I thought of giving Nirschl to her, but I am unsure of whether or not the little guy would survive long with 10 or so fully-grown koi. Assuming I can't give him to my koi-pond friend, what can I do with Nirschl? I really don't want to treat him badly, but the procedure is truly beyond my means. Is there any place I can take him, or anything? Any ideas at all would help; I am at a loss here.

Thanks very much for reading and for your help!

  • Nirvana's two In Utero's?

So, right now, I'm on amazon.com, and i'm looking at some Nirvana albums, and there are two different "In Utero"s... One costs more than the other, but all the songs are the same. I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between the 2? (Just as a note, it's like this on iTunes, too...)

  • Best hair products for bed head/messy look?

i just got my hair cut short (it's about at my chin) with a ton of layers, and and i really wanted to get that messy, peicey look that really defines all the layers that i just got. i was looking at some bedhead products like the wax stick, hard to get, hook up, manipulator, and creative genius and couldn't help but notice how much they cost. recently i've been using the garnier fructis surf hair stuff that's like $3.99 and i've been pretty happy with that. but, i was wondering if the bedhead stuff is actually worth paying 3 or 4 times how much the garnier fructis products cost? and if it is, could someone maybe tell me which, in their opinion, is the best bedhead product for the look i want to acheive? or, does anyone have any other suggestions as to a slighty less expensive way to get that look? thanks so much! = ]

  • does anyone know which spongebob episode this is?

i can't remember most of the plot of it, but spongebob is trying to rescue someone (or something) and he says something like "i can't just let him stay there! he'll never know anything about what life is really like!" and then the show goes to a clip where there's a fish and it shows him getting up in the morning, sitting in an office at his work, and then standing at a window at his house, then his wife says, "are you coming to bed, honey?" and the fish guy says, "yes, dear." does anyone have the most remote idea of what the plot is in this episode, or maybe even know what the episode is called? thanks!

ps- i've already tried youtube, but with the little detail i have to search with nothing comes up....
