What is the meaning of dreams?
The other night I dreamt that I was walking through a forest in the white-man's land. Slaves were working and some were taking me across town. We walked through mist. Rabbits crossed our path. I thought they should hurry or be caught and eaten.
I called out to a pregnant rabbit and warned her. She stopped and stared until i saw my mother's eyes (my mum is dead). She hopped ahead of me to show me the way, make sure i travelled properly.
I head drumbeats, shouting women by a stream. THe rabbit turned into my mother, balancing a slain rabbit on a platter.
This is from "The Book of Negroes" by Lawrence Hill, page 117. I need to know the meaning for a project.
2 AnswersDream Interpretation10 years agoWhat is an experiment control?
For bio class, I need to specify the control in the experiment.
In this test, we had four test tubes. The first was filled with cornstarch and then iodine was added to test for starch.
The second had the same amount of starch, and Benedict's reagent was added to test for sugar. it was left in a pot of hot water for 5 min.
Next a third test-tube had cornstarch added (this time more then before) with amylase added to break down the starch. It was put in a lukewarm pot of water for 20 min. next, half the contents from this test tube were poured into a fourth test tube. Here, iodine was added to test for starch. For the other half, Benedict's reagent was added to test for sugar.
What is the control in this experiment?
1 AnswerBiology1 decade agoHow is bird migration related to ice?
I'm reading a book, and it says that due to climate change lakes are not frozen as long anymore in Canada/US. These changes can cause birds to change their migration patterns. How is it that less freezing time changes bird migration patterns?
If you can support your idea with references/sources, that would be even better!
thanks!

1 AnswerPhysics1 decade agoWhy are people's Facebook profile pictures images of companies?
Since I've gone on Facebook today, I've noticed that whenever I go to someone's profile the little thumbnail pictures on their page are images of Plasco Energy Group. Their full sized profile picture is normal though - only their thumbnails are affected. I have been visiting Plasco's website a lot for a physics project, so is this a new advertising method on Facebook?
2 AnswersFacebook1 decade agoHow do you solve Fg = Gm1m2/(d)^2 ?
The mass of Jupiter is 1.90 x 10^27 and its radius is 7.18 x 10^7. What is the gravitational field intensity near the surface? I'm guessing that the formula needs to be rearranged since there is no m2.

3 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoIs a cell a solid, liquid, gas or other?
By cell, I mean the biology kind. The question above basically summerizes all I need to know. I need to relate diffusion of a cell to the particle theory, and I figured by knowing a cell's state of matter, then I could expand a bit.
4 AnswersChemistry1 decade agoPhysical vs. Chemical Changes?
During a science experiment, we had to add copper(II) sulfate to distilled water. When this happened, the water turned blue and the copper(II) sulfate dissolved. Is this a chemical or physical change? I can't decide because of the colour change, I know that the copper(II) sulfate can be taken from the water by evapourating the water.
2 AnswersChemistry1 decade agoTerrible Teacher Problems - How to fire him?
I have a terrible teacher, all he does is talk about food in class and yell at students. He tends to pick on those that are challenged, and never gives students a mark they deserve. When he teachers, which is rare, he tells the wrong facts (e.g. wine is not an alcohol, so he says) and everything is biased. He is also prejudice against French people, women, gays, Newfoundlanders, Jews, and Muslims. This is in an Ontario school, in case anyone is wondering. What can I do about him?

I need to pick a famous movie actor that fits the following criteria and I have no knowledge of actors. He has to be a 17 year old (or close) male, he is unable to grow facial hair and has thin little shoulders. He is still a child in many ways, and is getting ready to marry a girl he knocked up. When you answer, can you also list why they fit the criteria.
