I don't remember a ton about it, but here is what I do remember:

It's a teen fiction book. The apocalypse is supposedly coming and this kid's parents are "believers" of some cult who think that they can escape the apocalypse by going to the top of a mountain. The boy doesn't believe it but he has no choice but to go. When they get up there, he meets a girl who is in the same situation. But **** gets real on the mountain so basically a different type of apocalypse is happening up there. I remember that there were 2 authors on this book but I can't remember either of their names. If anyone could identify this book for me, I would be eternally grateful!

I'm trying to figure out if a certain compound is aromatic but I'm having trouble. I understand the 2 criteria for determining aromaticity but my issue is this: what if you have a cyclic compound but there is a double bond on the outside of the ring? As in one of the carbons are in the ring but the other carbon is not attached to anything? Does that effect the conjugated system?

Or what if you draw the cyclic compound and when you add the second line for the double bond on one of the sides, it's also outside of the ring instead of being drawn inside of the ring? Does that effect the conjugated system?

I'm sorry if this seems confusing but any help would be fantastic!

The book I am trying to identify is one written for young adults and here's the synopsis.
